Sorry, Maddow, But the White House Did Not Edit Video to Eliminate Reuters Question to Putin
Washington Post: “This is not a conspiracy from the White House.”
How many times must MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow end up with egg on her face before she stops with the tabloid behavior? So many explosive reports that turned into absolute duds.
Maddow claimed yesterday she had video that showed the White House edited video of the conference between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to remove the question from Reuters about Putin’s desire for Trump to beat Hillary.
Yeah….except that’s not what happened. Even The Washington Post shot her down.

The White House’s transcript doesn’t have the question either. WaPo even said that the video it received had the same blip, but didn’t jump to conclusions like Maddow:
What happened? If you watch the videos, it’s pretty clear. At some point in the middle of that question, there’s a switch between the feed from the reporters and the feed from the translator. In the White House version of the video, you can hear the question being asked very faintly under the woman who is translating saying “president.”
The news conference video that Fox News had does not have that blip:
WaPo continued:
But more importantly in that video, you can hear the actual switch-over.
If you’re wearing headphones, you can notice how the latter part of the question is suddenly audible in the right earpiece. At first, the right channel is only the translator. Mid-question, the reporter is suddenly heard in both left and right as the translator feed drops out. Notice, too, that Putin then picks up his earpiece — through which he can hear the translations — and puts it in his right ear.
Our transcript and the White House’s were apparently based on the feed that runs only in the right channel. A White House official told CNN’s Abby Phillip that its transcript “did not have Mason’s audio turned up in time,” referring to Reuters reporter Jeff Mason, who asked the question.
This is not a conspiracy from the White House. While the White House certainly has a track record of misrepresenting facts, this would have been a remarkably futile revision of reality to attempt. As it turns out, they didn’t.
Oh, Maddow. If you want people to take you seriously then you need to SLOW DOWN and VERIFY. Here are more instances of epic failures:
- Rachel Maddow’s career committed suicide live on national TV tonight (in reference to Trump’s tax returns.)
- GOP wrongdoing in Michigan (2012)
- Koch Brothers pushed drug testing for welfare recipients (2014)
Just STOP. There are so many legitimate reasons to criticize this administration. You do not have to make up stuff.

tl;dr version: rude reporter talked over someone else (he interpreter) in order to get in his “gotcha” question.
interpreter, and transcribers, didn’t hear the question, so “WHITE HOUSE EDITING!”
maybe someone should have paid more attention when someone tried to teach them manners as a kid, instead of being a brat?
Huh. I do remember when an administration DID edit a video:

“so many legitimate reasons to criticize this administration.”
I forget. somebody list some.
Serious ones.
I consider trolling to be a feature and not a bug.
Presidents that have the news media licking their feet can afford to ride a high horse. Trump is justifiably scornful of the press.
After eight years of the shady obama and his lies and obfuscations, Trump is a breath of fresh air with his openness and saying what he means. He does not have many filters so we get to see the real Trump. Many find it uncomfortable but when you look back at obama and the way he would answer one question at a news conference because it took him twenty minutes to answer that one question while Trump has answered ten.
Madcow is a sociopathic liar of hillary klinton proportions.
Anyone ever read one of her books? They’re actually laughable, if they weren’t so sadly taken seriously by feces-throwers.
Like this one, for example:
“Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power:
Rachel Maddow’s Drift argues that we’ve drifted away from America’s original ideals and become a nation weirdly at peace with perpetual war:”

What an intellectual midget. Of obamian proportions.
Rach DOES have to make things up to appease her looney audience.
As a virtual cornucopia of fake news, she(?) will always have a job at MSNBC….
