Elizabeth Warren Says Not Running for President, But Building on $13 Million Dollar War Chest

Every single time she has been asked, Elizabeth Warren has emphatically insisted that she is not running for president in 2020. Yet she now sits on a record size pile of campaign cash. So much for getting big money out of politics.

Elizabeth Warren has spent the past year making a series of below-the-radar moves that would put her in prime position to run for president in 2020 if she decides to.
The liberal icon and Republican bete noire has amassed more money in her campaign war chest than nearly any senator in modern history, groomed political connections with Democrats who’ve been skeptical of her in the past, and worked to bolster her bipartisan and foreign policy bona fides.
It’s part of a conscious break from the heads-down posture that Warren purposefully maintained during the first five years of her Senate career, a wide range of Democrats close to the Massachusetts senator and her tight-knit political operation told POLITICO. And it’s representative of Warren’s tricky navigation between the wishes of advocates who want her cutting a clear path to 2020, and supporters who think her best bet is to run up the score in her reelection race this year…
Warren is sitting on more campaign cash — $12.8 million — than nearly any other incumbent senator ever has at this point in an election cycle, despite what’s expected to be an easy reelection. But she also held 17 town hall events back home in Massachusetts last year.
Warren has apparently had a busy travel schedule lately, as well:
On top of visiting battleground states Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin, in part to raise campaign cash for Senate colleagues there, Warren is by far the most prominent early backer of Ohio gubernatorial candidate Richard Cordray, the former director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which Warren helped create.
“She has been, really, a nonstop presence here since 2016,” said David Pepper, chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party.
Pure coincidence, I’m sure.

All comic book heroes need a sequel – even U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
The Massachusetts Democrat was the focus last year of a 22-page comic titled “Female Force: Elizabeth Warren,” which told the story of Warren’s rise from Oklahoma schoolgirl to U.S. senator and champion of the liberal wing of the Democratic Party.
Now publisher TidalWave Comics is bringing out a sequel, “Female Force: Elizabeth Warren #2,” chronicling the early days of Warren’s 2012 U.S. Senate campaign and her rise to power.
Instead of Batman battling the Joker, readers can follow along as Warren battles Congress to ease the burden of crushing student loan debt.

If Warren runs and doesn’t get the Democratic Party nomination, she will still be on the short list as a running mate. She’ll also be hailed by the media as America’s savior from the age of Trump. Count on it.

I’ll say this for Republicans: they do not tolerate unethical behavior in their politicians.
I still don’t think that she is going to run ~herself~.
However, I can see a situation where she wants to be a “king-maker” and either select an individual to run for the Presidency, and then push Chuck Schumer out of the Senate Leadership and become Majority Leader if the Democrat Party manages to retake the Senate (and in doing so, effectively control two of the three branches of government herself).

I’ve lived most of my life in MA, and I just live across the border now. If the Republicans could field a moderate candidate for the senate who checks off one of the other “protected class’s boxes”, Warren could be given a run for her money. She doesn’t have any real record in the senate, and her life is ripe for ridicule. The people of MA would feel too guilty to vote against a woman unless they could vote for a “more deserving oppressed” candidate. Women are at the bottom of the list for MA Democrats. She could be bumped off by a black man who ran on Ed Brooke’s legacy, for example. There hasn’t been a black senator since 1979. He could run as a “real minority” instead of a fake one.
What about the man, of IIndian descent, who sent her a 23andMe DNA test? Is he still going to primary her?
That would be Shiva Ayyadurai. I am not sure he is developing a significantly large war chest yet, although he reportedly has passed $1.5M. MA likes white businessmen (Mitt Romney and now Charlie Baker) for state politics and I think that will carry over to the U.S. Senate. And the establishment GOP is funding John Kingston at a pretty good clip so far, who is leading the $$$ race right now. He also can tick the “social justice” box that may help with some of the independent voters in MA. Hard core Dems in MA would never vote R like in other states.
The MA Democratic Party won’t let anyone primary Warren. They’ll block him/her at their convention as they’ve done in the past. Anyone who wants to run against Warren will have to do it as a Republican.
She’s posturing so that she can become Cincinnatus Fauxcahontas.
She gets to keep any unspent funds.

If she buys her services from the Trump Organization, that money will be gone in a hurry . As of 2/1/17 the Trump 2016 campaign and the Trump Presidency has paid the Trump Organization 12.8M – and the 2020 campaign is already paying Trump Org.

Being President is a profit making enterprise for Trump. So you whine all you like about Warren. Trump has made no attempt to avoid the conflicts of interest between his business and country’s business.

$13 million is a funny number. It’s high to defend an incumbent seat, but it’s far too low for a presidential shot. Last year, Her Inevitableness burned through nearly a hundred times that, and still came up short.
