Harvey Weinstein’s former lawyer sought donations for Trump accusers
Lisa Bloom says it’s standard practice
Lisa Bloom, daughter of celebrity attorney Gloria Allred, worked to raise money for women considering making sexual misconduct allegations against Donald Trump during the campaign season, according to a report from The Hill.
Documents reviewed by The Hill show Bloom attempted to earn commission from booking accusers for TV appearances, fundraising to pay off a mortgage for one would-be accuser, and fundraising to pay as much as $750,000 to another, who ultimately declined.
The Hill reports:
California lawyer Lisa Bloom’s efforts included offering to sell alleged victims’ stories to TV outlets in return for a commission for herself, arranging a donor to pay off one Trump accuser’s mortgage and attempting to secure a six-figure payment for another woman who ultimately declined to come forward after being offered as much as $750,000, the clients told The Hill.
The women’s accounts were chronicled in contemporaneous contractual documents, emails and text messages reviewed by The Hill, including an exchange of texts between one woman and Bloom that suggested political action committees supporting Hillary Clinton were contacted during the effort.
Bloom responded, saying the intent was not to pressure women into coming forward.
…In a statement to The Hill, Bloom acknowledged she engaged in discussions to secure donations for women who made or considered making accusations against Trump before last year’s election.
“Donors reached out to my firm directly to help some of the women I represented,” said Bloom, whose clients have also included accusers of Bill Cosby and Bill O’Reilly.
Bloom said her goal in securing money was not to pressure the women to come forward, but rather to help them relocate or arrange security if they felt unsafe during the waning days of a vitriolic election. She declined to identify any of the donors.
And while she noted she represented sexual harassment victims for free or at reduced rates, she also acknowledged a standard part of her contracts required women to pay her commissions as high as 33 percent if she sold their stories to media outlets.
“Our standard pro bono agreement for legal services provides that if a media entity offers to compensate a client for sharing his or her story we receive a percentage of those fees. This rarely happens. But, on occasion, a case generates media interest and sometimes (not always) a client may receive an appearance fee,” she said.
Bloom briefly represented Harvey Weinstein when allegations first broke and stood by women accusing former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly of sexual harassment. Bloom also represented Kathy Griffin after Griffin’s photo shoot with a bloodied likeness of a decapitated Trump head led to a Secret Service investigation and intense public backlash. The two were later involved in a very public spat.

“It’s standard practice.”
Which is what I’ve been saying all along – they are getting PAID to make these accusations for which there is NO defense, where the press tries and convicts the accused, especially if the accused is a Republican, and even MORESO if that Republican is a Conservative.
Lord, protect us!
100% Correct.
More good reading on that here.
“Evidence Surfaces Attorney Lisa Bloom Arranged Payments for Trump Accusers…
Attorney Lisa Bloom is the daughter of Gloria Allred. The apple certainly doesn’t fall far from the poisonous tree. Both Gloria Allred and Lisa Bloom have a history of planned and strategic attacks against candidate Donald Trump and President Donald Trump…”

“Both Gloria Allred and Lisa Bloom have a history of planned and strategic attacks against candidate Donald Trump and President Donald Trump……”
The comedy is: they have no idea why.
Anybody think the likes of these two slimeball, useful idiots could ever look in a mirror and ask: “I support THAT?”
Ignorance and arrogance at its worst. But that’s giving alred and bloom the benefit of the doubt that they don’t understand what they are finally supporting by supporting the corrupt left. More likely, they want to be part of the elite, once it seizes power – our nation be damned.
Tainted witnesses thanks to lawyers. Tainted juries thanks to the press. Whether it is a witch trial or baby trial (i.e. private witch trial), both are evidence of social justice, but a denial of civil rights and actual justice.
“Our standard pro bono agreement for legal services provides that if a media entity offers to compensate a client for sharing his or her story we receive a percentage of those fees.”
“We receive a percentage” means what Bloom does is very much NOT pro bono. And guess what Lisa does once she gets this signed agreement? She’s out there hustling to get paid interviews for her client. And one thing she ain’t going is legal work.
Actually she’s acting more like an agent trying to hawk her stable of no-talent dunces. Typical agent fees are 10-15%.
A more accurate description of her work is pimping.
That’s correct. It’s called a “contingency fee.” And it is a fee.
There are attorney benefits to doing pro bono work, including lower Bar fees and reduced rates of continuing education, among others.
Where are you, California Bar?
The text is unclear … was Bloom in line to get 33% of the $750,000 in the case that didn’t happen?
Nonsense. This entire matter is suspect. it appears to be laundering campaign contributions and encouraging the solicitation perjury.
and none of these fake accusers or their lawyers ever pay a penalty
But Rags will tell you suborning perjury and forgery don’t matter. Just like his role model Harry Reid:”He lost, didn’t he?”
Hopefully, Judge Moore’s election challenge includes something about not allowing people to benefit from criminal acts by stealing elections.
that would be fun, the Democrats hung with their own petard
Apropos of nothing, but is Lisa Bloom wearing a wig?
I thought that was a professional requirement.
Can the practicing attorneys here outline the risks to Bloom as an attorney for potentially suborning perjury?
Does anyone know if Bloom (or anyone else affiliated) filed court papers using this scheme?
Bloom could be guilty of the RICO act, with the predicate crime being bribery:
http://ricoact.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/BRIBE.pdf
could that apply to mommy dearest, too?
Now with Swamp Sessions being extorted to keep his mouth shut.
No, impossible. A certain “lawyer” that comments here said these women are honest and not getting paid.
Wonder what the payday for “Yearbook” Nelson is?
It’s always interesting that my deepest haters cannot deal honestly with anything I’ve actually advocated.
They simply make up shit, impute it to me, and lie there pestilent asses off.
Interestingly, I actually think that’s great. They vindicate my positions by doing that.
Well Mr. Raggs….you do get people worked up!
In the entertainment business we say: Love Me, Hate Me, just don’t ignore me.
The truth really stings you.
Paid. Paid. Paid.

I say this for your benefit, not to be snarky:
Re: “my deepest haters…”
Nobody hates you – especially not ‘deeply.’
– But our troll Yellowtail hates you deeply.
But then, he hates everyone deeply – especially himself.
So, in SwineReports world, lying about me constantly is an act of love?
I do take it as an act of perverse admiration from the cult who resorts to it, though.
It’s all they have, and all they are.
No lies were told dimwit.
All anyone need do is read your comments. They tell the story, and you continue to lie.
I realize Ms. Bloom has to make money cause…you know, she’s got Ferrari payments to make….
But if she’s booking clients on TV shows and selling their stories, ect….she sounds more like a talent agent…
I also liked it when Ms. Bloom said she reps. the victims for free or at reduced rates, but takes a piece of the merch. sales…(sneaky)
I realize that Trump needs to make money by exploiting his office and he needs to manipulate the tax code to hold on to that money ……………….
Funny, he didn’t do anything George Washington didn’t do by selling to foreign customers from Mount Vernon.
Remember how all the
commiedemocrat presidents donated their salary? No, me neither.
Remember how the last two commie democrat presidents left office tens of millions richer than when they showed up and made every dime they earned in life from the American taxpayer?
YellowSnake…haven’t noticed you commenting much lately, are you having a good holiday season?
Like how you used my, “I realized” line as a comeback, (witty).
I don’t begrudge anyone trying to figure out a way to keep their own money…
There was a time when I was making money…Hand Over Fist! (yes, legally) I did everything I could to hold on to my own dough. (everyone should)
Just cause you’re making money doesn’t mean I can’t make money. Some people worry about whether the other guy is playing fair…I don’t.
I really have no problem with how Lisa Bloom does her business either. It just seems like she’s more of talent agent/promoter than a lawyer, (but I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know).
Yellow tail is on the government dole. You can be sure of that. Or else he’s one of a few psychos collected together in some college soros-sponsored boileroom, trolling blogs.
Yellow tail is probably one name used by a group of ten or so sorry loons carrying the same unopened condom since high school, engaging in a collective circle-jerk of posting the same commie nonsense on every conservative blog out there.
Replace that four year old condom: when the time comes when you finally get to use it one day, it’ll break. But then, it’s just a water balloon that’ll burst, right?
I’ve heard that you can troll the comment boards for pay, but figured it was one of those “urban legends”, TFR…
Wouldn’t think a guy could make much. Guess if you earned enough money to buy Doritos and Mountain Dew you’d be good!
“What, paranoia me? You gotta be nuts, you miserable s.o.b.!
Your hate you always display for me here is pure evil. Hell, of all the people commenting here, I am the only sane one. No wonder I am always right, and you pikers are allays wrong!”
Since you apparently possess at least the most basic reading skills, try reading up the thread here, and answer me this…
1. who else is named in a thread where he has not made a comment?
2. who else has his positions depicted by those who incandescently hate him?
3. do you believe that I support perjury based on anything I’ve said?
4. do you believe that I support bribery based on anything I’ve said?
5. is deliberately lying about someone evil?
“Since you apparently possess at least the most basic reading skills…”
Anyone that does read, can read your comments denigrating the idea the women get paid.
You hero Allred’s daughter says they all get paid.
No one believes your lies.
The WaPo: re Roy Moore?
Anytime you want to put Weinstein & Trump in the same headline, you’ve got a winner. Both shoved their hands up women’s skirts and engaged in non-consensual sexual contact. Unfortunately, 1 of them still struts around without any shame.
Yes, Harvey Weinstein, allegedly, went all the way to forcible rape. But that is an interesting place for the ‘moral majority’ to draw the line.
But only one had an accuser with an actual tape that the police believed was credible and a Democrat DA wouldn’t prosecute.
It wasn’t Trump.
Soooo, this sounds like money laundering of donations to me. Client gets 100% of the donations and Bloom gives her services to the client for free but then Bloom contractually gets 1/3 of the clients media fees.
It may be legal, but I’d like to see the circle with those media payments, because I’d bet that non-profit donations are being used to pay Lisa Bloom..
For every $100,000 that Bloom gets paid, it should mean that her client got an additional payment from the media of $200,000.
It would be even more interesting if Lisa Bloom was paid $250,000 for her services. Because it could indicate that the donation to the client was a cool one million with 1/4 of it going to Bloom.
If so, that’s 100% illegal and tax fraud.
I remember that people were asking Bloom how she got paid. I wonder if Bloom got called on it and had to scramble and came up with the “I get a cut of the media fees” story. It’s not like the media wouldn’t go along with it to help her out.
If I was Trump, I get someone to pitch a really, really, good, juicy, believable story to Lisa Bloom and then have that person take the donor’s $750,000 dollar donation. Then that person could just refuse to go on any media settings. Lisa Bloom would just be SOL and there would not be one damn thing she could do to get that donation back.
Laura Ingraham (attorney) has an interesting take on this from campaign finance standpoint –
“There are serious fed election law issues re. Lisa Bloom’s effort to pay Trump accusers that will likely be presented to law enforcement.”
https://twitter.com/IngrahamAngle/status/942169225971552256
“And if a PAC was paying for this accuser stuff directly or indirectly there are major disclosure issues.”
https://twitter.com/IngrahamAngle/status/942170534657298432
“This is standard practice.”
Imagine? This sleazeball just inculpated herself and her entire staff to a very serious series of torts and crimes.
