For those of you who are relatively new here, our 7th Anniversary post has a pretty good history of how Legal Insurrection and my personal focus have evolved.
It has been a turbulent year, but I’m happy to say we weathered the storm quite well. Somewhat surprisingly, our traffic is up post-election, and was strong throughout the year. Our new Quick Take section has been a success, particularly on social media, and has fulfilled the goal of providing us a place to put “breaking,” quirky and other content that might not be right for the main column. Also folding our college coverage into LI has made that content more visible to most readers.

Can someone please explain why so many websites have fundraisers around Christmas when people have less available money to contribute?
(Yes, I understand the Amazon link option, but it’s the principle I’m asking about not this particular execution thereof)
Semi-annual?
I understand that LI does this twice a year, but this is not the only site with a fundraiser around this time, and a lot of the others are only annual. Which is the source of my confusion. Everyone is asking for money when people are least likely to have it.
How much should I donate?
More than zero but not so much that you need charity yourself.

Hey Bill news story for ya … It seems the city of Chicago ( run by Rahm formerly Obama’s chief flying monkeys in charge ) in order to increase shrinking police ranks and to improve community telations has decided to allow criminals ( no I’m not kidding stop laughing ) to become cops but only minority criminals it seems ( your laughing again ) you want to take up lawsuit on behalf of white criminals ?
