Lots of people are having trouble adjusting to the fact that Donald Trump won the election and CNN commentator Van Jones is surely one of them.
On election night he went off on a tirade about how Trump’s election was a “whitelash.”
Politico reported:
Van Jones: Trump vote is a ‘white-lash’
CNN commentator Van Jones said racial tensions, including the race of the current president, caused a “white-lash” that helped drive Donald Trump’s Rust Belt victories.
Factors other than race existed too, acknowledged Jones, a former aide to Obama’s White House. But a backlash by white voters was also at play, he said early Wednesday.
“This was a white-lash against a changing country,” he said. “It was a white-lash against a black president in part, and that’s the part where the pain comes. And Donald Trump has a responsibility tonight to come out and reassure people that he is going to be the president of all the people who he insulted and offended and brushed aside.”

Then he went off on Trump supporter Kayleigh McEnany. The Hill reported:
Van Jones goes off on Trump surrogate: ‘Back off’
A fiery exchange over Donald Trump’s presidential election victory ultimately resulted in CNN contributor Van Jones telling Trump supporter Kayleigh McEnany to “back off.”
The verbal altercation between Jones and McEnany on Wednesday night erupted over concerns that a Trump presidency could lead to an extreme new reality for certain minorities.
McEnany insisted that Jones “correct the fear” among minorities that Trump would institute internment camps, causing Jones to snap.
“You need to back off,” Jones fired back.
“Have a little empathy and understanding for people who are afraid because your candidate is one of the most explosively provocative candidates in the history of our country, and there’s a price to be paid for that.”

Then he released this video to explain his whitelash comments. It comes off a bit like saying: I’m sorry I called you racists, racists. Watch:
We knew the left would lose it if Trump won but this has been ridiculous.

I am not sure Van Jones knows what a deep hole he continues to dig for himself and the Democratic Party.
DJT was a Democrat for many years, and he was well-know as a racial justice pioneer. Indeed, the Clintons paid $20K plus yearly fees as membership to a segregated golf club, while DJT filed suit to overturn a racially restrictive ordinance so that his Mar-a-Lago resort could admit blacks and Jews.
He embraced the support of Ben Carson, and reached out to black churchgoers. He talked about policies of interest to the black community.
But, he ran as a Republican, and Hillary decided he needed to be characterized as a racist.
All of this is public record.
And Democratic voters said “F**k you, and the horse you rode in on.”
I’m sure he does, Valerie. He has to bring the country down to his level.
Didn’t this election say, “Homie don’t play dat.”
Well, he’s right, mostly. There have been racial tensions, there was a “whitelash”, and it was because of the current president. Where he’s wrong is that it wasn’t because of the current president’s race, but because of his deliberate policy of creating those racial tensions he mentioned. Very few Trump voters cared what color 0bama’s skin is; what they cared about was the fact that for eight years he has done everything a president could to set black people against white ones. How did he expect white people to react to that? How could it not trigger a “whitelash”?
Meanwhile don’t forget that Van Jones lost his job in the 0bama administration because he was exposed as an actual honest-to-goodness communist, and a 9/11 truther.
You can add Charles Blow to the list of those not taking this well.

What he forgets… both candidates are white. He implies voting for Hillary is pro-black vote – and one for Trump is anti-black.
To me, the election was simple – I didn’t want Hillary to win. Instead of calling it “whitewash”, let’s call it for what it is… a victory for Rule of Law and accountability.
Clinton embraced 0bama and his legacy of racial confrontation, including BLM, and Trump rejected it. voting for Hillary is pro-BLM vote – and one for Trump is anti-BLM.

These are the people that scream about profiling. Their profiling of the “deplorables” is exactly what cost them this election. The bullies are getting taught a hard lesson by Karma. It’s not sinking in yet though. For a lot of them it never will.
Racist, Hitler, Homophobe, etc. have been so overused and worn out that their new insults “whitelash” fall on deaf ears.
