Speaker Ryan Endorses Donald Trump
Hey Girl, I choose The Donald.
Welp, it’s official. Speaker Paul Ryan has endorsed Donald Trump.
He made the formal announcement in an op-ed in the Janesville Gazette:
But the House policy agenda has been the main focus of our dialogue. We’ve talked about the common ground this agenda can represent. We’ve discussed how the House can be a driver of policy ideas. We’ve talked about how important these reforms are to saving our country. And we’ve talked about how, by focusing on issues that unite Republicans, we can work together to heal the fissures developed through the primary.
Through these conversations, I feel confident he would help us turn the ideas in this agenda into laws to help improve people’s lives. That’s why I’ll be voting for him this fall.
I'll be voting for @realDonaldTrump this fall. I'm confident he will help turn the House GOP's agenda into laws. https://t.co/LyaT16khJw

Only a month ago, Ryan told CNN’S Jake Tapper he could not support Trump at that time:
“I hope to though, and I want to,” he said on Tapper’s show The Lead. “But I think what is required is that we unify this party. And I think the bulk of the burden on unifying the party will have to come from our presumptive nominee.”
A week later, Ryan and Trump met with GOP leaders and then privately with each other. Evidently, Trump proved his worth to the speaker and one time vice presidential candidate:
Donald Trump and I have talked at great length about things such as the proper role of the executive and fundamental principles such as the protection of life. The list of potential Supreme Court nominees he released after our first meeting was very encouraging.
Ryan wrote about ideas the GOP has in the House and insists they need a Republican president to sign them off. He said the GOP cannot support Hillary Clinton because that presidency means “four more years of liberal cronyism and a government more out for itself than the people it serves.”
One source told CNN that Ryan did not give Trump a “heads up” because he wanted to make the decision “on his own timelines.”

About time, Dumbo.
This is like the kid in the back row waking up and blurting out, “huh?” five minutes after the teacher asks him what a common interjection is.
Worse: he’s like the kid tattles on other kids to the teacher.
I’ll care when Ryan starts cutting budgets and dismantling departments like education and energy.
When Trump is President that stuff will happen! 🙂
That is SO cute…
“T-rumpiClause will bring me my moonpony this Independence Day!”
He won’t. He’s a GOPe hack, and nothing more than boehner without the drunk blubbering.
Good to hear Speaker Ryan is on the Trump train.
Hillary and Bernie are still fighting it out and it’s getting very nasty!
I am not sure that Ryan is anything but verbally on the Trump Train, as you put it. The lying [insert expletives of choice] that funded everything Obama wanted, twice, at more than they asked for, and whose contempt for the Republican base is palpable is not someone you want to turn your back on. I expect him to be overtly or covertly working for “Vichy” French or for Hillary in reality.
I fully agree with you. Plus, he is being primaried, needs to save his skin.
Don’t worry about the Bernies. Their biggest issue is climate change and they will come around to support Hillary.
So, basically, Ryan announces that he is sticking with his agenda and assures us that he warned the Donald about the abuses of executive power. And he never uses the word “endorse”. It’s exactly the kind of half-hearted endorsement we all expected from Ryan.
You really have to read all of the op ed piece i the Gazette. In the first place, as the current Republican Congressional agenda is in line with the Democrat agenda and nearly opposite to the policy agenda Trumps is running on, I find it weird that Ryan would insinuate that Trump is going to get on board THAT particular train. Now, maybe the Donald is the greatest Manchurian Candidate since Barak Obama and actually totally supports government sponsored health care, amnesty for illegal aliens, free trade and open borders. But, he seems to be running on a platform in direct opposition to those policies. So, it is unclear what the purpose of this op-ed piece actually was. I suppose that we sill find out as time passes.
You remind me that when Obama was elected I told my wife I couldn’t decide if he was a Manchurian Candidate or an empty suit. I guess he’s both.
So Widows Peak Paulie finally pulled the trigger.
That puts me in 2 frames of mind.
1. On the one hand I want to vomit because W. P. does that for me.
2. On the other hand I’d advise investment in a sniper rifle to take the s. o. b. out when he inevitably pulls his betrayal.
Should the FBI take this seriously?
Probably not, he’s admitted that he would have to invest in a sniper rifle -not that he has one. Frustrated mutterings is what I interpreted this to be.
T-rump, Ryan, and McConnell are all members of a fully formed mutual admiration society.
Mr. Establishment has endorsed Ryan and McConnell. Or did you T-rump suckers miss that?
Just as predicted…
Heh…!!!
Ryan will compromise, particularly when he has no choice because Obama won’t sign the budget, but he’s not a 100% sell-out.
“…but he’s not a 100% sell-out.”
Of course he is, to the Obama led democrat party. He had no choice but to “endorse” Trump, otherwise he would have one hell of a time maintaining his unwanted speakership.
His endorsement means nothing. He is, and will always be, a whore for the donor class.
They judged that the sundown was not in their interest and waited for O to go away.
If Ryan was a 100% sellout, he’d be on Trumptrain now.
Poor thing….. Still rattling about Trump?
That was not an endorsement, despite Trumpie spin.
It’s better than an endorsement!
Ryan is voting for him!
We do not need a stinking endorsement.
Hillary’s Helpers in damage control mode, lol
Entertainment of the evening — The NeverTrump dervishes spinning like tops 🙂
“The NeverTrump dervishes spinning like tops”
Only a handful left and they are all wobbly.
Only a handful left talking to you?
Since I don’t count it makes no difference how many are “talking” to me.
You might want to pull your head out of the sandbox and survey the political landscape. Your fearless leader, Billy Kristol, is openly laughed at. The readership at the #nevertrump kook houses is dropping to the point their future existence is in doubt. Some of the most respected conservatives in the country have endorsed and are working with Trump.
Making up all the BS in the world and repeating it over and over will not make it true. You are all in cahoots with the left, knowingly or not. Your #nevertrump is an absolute failure.
In short, you’re all kooks.
It is important to remember Ted Cruz along with every other Republican in the senate voted for McConnell as majority leader. Even though they knew McConnell for the duplicitous bastard he is.
No matter what some commentators would have Trump has never been a longstanding feeder at the public trough as has Ted Cruz during his entire career.
I’ll be interested to see what form Trump’s revenge takes.
Saying that the party is unified does not simply make it unified. Remember that the vast majority of R voters chose Cruz or Trump; neither of whom supported business-as-usual, Congressional RINOs. I’m not interested in unity between people who have funded every bit of Obama’s agenda with people who have donated to Dem’s their entire pompous lives. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me!
Ryan:
We don’t need any more laws.
We need less. A lot less.
Remember Reagan?
” Government IS the problem “
Ryan isn’t moved by Reagan. He’s moved by boehner.
