The Red Carpet Blogger Awards event was held at CPAC this morning. I am very pleased to announced that Legal Insurrection received the award for the Most Underrated Blog.
I guess that is fitting, and I appreciate recognition that we have not yet been sufficiently recognized in the blogosphere for what we do.
Bryan Jacoutot, who was at CPAC, accepted the award for LI. I’ll try to post photos and/or video when available. The event was sponsored by TheTeaParty.net and John Hawkins of Right Wing News.
Here is the list of winners, as written down by Bryan:

Congratulations.
It is definitely a very well-deserved award.
Whew! Dodged that dreaded “Most Congenial Blog” award again!
Anyway, congratulations. LI is a very good blog even if I don’t always agree with your opinion. It’s a very good place to at least get the facts straight and read good discussions. It’s fun watching your learning process.
Now to help you get out of that corner you painted yourself into on Gingrich.
Most Underrated
Seems oxymoronic somehow…
Underrated? Not by those who frequent here. Thank you, Professor!
Congratulations Professor!! Well deserved! : )
Bryan: “Professor Jacobson couldn’t be here to accept this award today … he’s too busy being a loner … but he sends this short video to say ‘thanks.'”
You’re not underrated according to Alexa. You cream Ben Shapiro, Iowahawk and that NakedDC(never heard of it)
Everyone links to you, man! This site rocks.
How the hell could Ben Shapiro or Iowahawk win over I Own The World?
ROBBED, I tell ya!
Agreed.
I Own The World makes me laugh out loud with regularity–those guys are brilliant. Congrats to LI for some overdue well deerved recognition! And I must put in a plug for Weasel Zippers, one of my very favorite blogs!
Congrats.
I do find it strange tha the top humor blogs haven’t updated in quite some time….
Those humor blogs only post occasionally. IOTW posts 20 times a day and they are hilarious. Who was voting on that category, Romney?
11. Best Overall Blog: Hot Air
12. Best Overrated Blog: Hot Air
Congratulations. Mais oui, but of course, clearly “underrated,” whatever that means, … connoisseurs have found it. Thank you, and I enjoy the excellent comments too.
Despite our deep disagreement over Gingrich/Romney, I still enjoy this blog. Congratulations, Professor.
Kinda sad, actually.
Professor Jacobson has to step up his game, and show remarkable improvement, just to become “rated”.
Legal Insurrection:
Best Truth to Power blog
Best Law and Order blog
Best Consistent Conservative Perspective blog
Best Conservative in Gavel and Gown (Law and Academia) blog
Best Broad Coverage News (with doses wit and irony) blog
Best Presentation of Conservative Case to Jury of Voters blog
Best Bumper Sticker (exploration of the wit, irony and symbolism of bumper stickers (BS) blog
and many more….
Mais oui
Congrats!
I think you owe your blog’s success to “Dijon-gate”. That is still my all time favorite series of Legal Insurrection posts because of the totally unhinged reaction by the Left that it created. Who knew a blog post about Obama’s mustard could create so much passion? It was exhilarating to behold. I just did a search and I see that in May it will be three years since that glorious day. Time flies.
Congratulations Prof! Wow, I feel like I’m part of something… /tear 😉
Loud public expression of enthusiastic approval!
Release the Confetti & Baloons!(profs office)
Congratulation to ALL!
Better to be an underrated site as opposed to many of those overrated sites!
Congratulations Professor
Congrats! Well deserved.
Cheers and yes, LI is a great blog!
Congratulations Professor! Definitely well deserved.
Congratulations! (Fully Rated!)
Underrated no more!
Thank you, Professor for all your analysis– incisive, level-headed and insightful.
Thank you for endorsing Newt. Thank you for taking all the heat that ensued.
I also learn a lot from the comments here. Thank you.
Underrated? Not by us! Congratulations!
Congratulations!
I often read your blog and think “wow” because you’ve eloquently written what I’ve been thinking.
8. Most Influential Blog: Legal Insurrection
9. Most Underrated Blog: Maggies Farm
Congratulations, Professor! I’ve enjoyed reading your blog for quite a while now – I love to get your “take” on lots of different issues.
I guess now a lot more people are going to be dropping in to see what you have to say!
(Guess you’d better vacuum the carpets and clean off the coffee table before they start arriving….)
I feel a bit sorry for you wife because now that you are famous you’re going to be REALLY
OOPS…hit the wrong key…to continue, REALLY busy keeping an extra sharp eye out for trolls.
I thought you were going to conclude, ” … REALLY fighting off all the screaming girls.”
And Mrs. Jacobson would be thinking, “So this is what it was like to be a Beatles wife.”
Legal Insurrection …. great but still underrated. Still in its Hamburg days.
“December 9, 1961: The Beatles played at the Palais Ballroom in Aldershot to a crowd of just 18 people. The date had not been advertised, owing to the local newspaper’s refusal to accept the promoter’s cheque. After the show The Beatles became rowdy, getting themselves ordered out of town by the local police.”
No need to get rowdy, Professor. Be patient.
🙂
Recognition well earned. Congratulations.
The blog’s indifference to groupthink makes it underrated. Please keep it that way.
kudos – ^^^^^

It is indeed appropriate.
Legal Insurrection does not invite oversight.
Smart. Very smart.
Having never met you in person, I find your blog persona to be that of a humble intellectual. The recognition of being “The Most Underrated Blog”, is the equivalent of being named “Best Supporting Actor”. An underrated position of supporting the lead actor to further success. Your the inspiration for the top.
Legal Insurrection is not underrated in my little corner of Progressive Paradise.
Thanks for many a great read.
Prof.Jacobson i must say that in the last few years i have been following a lot of sites (blogs) and in my humble opinion your site by far is the best site in all manners achievable.
I was a big fan of Hot Air until Michele sold it, since then it has diffidently changed into a very biased/liberal site and i don’t think they even realized that yet how progressive they become ….
Legal Insurrection has the most INTEGRITY of all !!!
Cool! Congrats – you deserve it, and more. 😀
A great award and well-deserved, but unfortunately the recognition will only grow, and inevitably draw such media attention that we will lose the good professor to his new career as a Hollywood action movie hero.
“Hollywood action movie hero”?
Are you quite sure about that? Sources?
Word on the street has it that the Professor is planning to parlay his newfound fame into publicity for his conservative punk rock band and its summer tour, “Billy Infinity & The Null Set.” Have you ever seen Billy pump his fist in the air?
If he chooses to go the Hollywood route, I see him as more of a Benjamin Braddock type leading man, rather than action hero.
The original script called for the “one word” to be “blogs.”
Naw, man. Action hero. Shoots and punches only with the right hand. Title of first movie: Lethal Insurrection.
We can meet half way and make him a cougar-taming action star.
I see him in the first installment of the series seducing and then defeating Janet Napolitano, before putting Debbie Wasserman Schultz in his crosshairs.
Second movie seduces and defeats Nancy Pelosi?
Call me Cubby, but this could be a freaking gold mine.
A Hollywood action movie hero?
Very cool… but we won’t lose him entirely because action figures are included with McDonald’s Happy Meals 🙂
No way. He’ll be an anti-hero, Dirty Harry style. Not the thing for McToys.
Ok…I like your idea better but I refuse to pay more than $19.99 plus shipping and handling.
“He’ll be an anti-hero, Dirty Harry style.”
That’s right. And when you pull the string in back he’ll say,
“It’s halftime in America.”
Congrats, Professor! Well deserved!
Congrats William, well deserved!
congrats on the award…..
LOL Good Job Professor
UNDERRATED??? BY WHOM??? LI is the second site I read in the morning. I read the obituaries first. If I am listed, I figure I won’t have to go to work.
Keep up the excellent work. And don’t go “Hollywood” on us. I do not want to see a picture of you on the cover of one of those “teen” magazines wearing a micro bathing suit.
[…] I DIDN’T GO TO CPAC, but I won two blog awards. Thanks — it’s nice to be […]
I come here every morning, and I send many of your postings out to my emailing list all the time, all sourced to this blog. Word travels. LI is absolutely awesome!!
Congratulaions! Well Done Prof J!!!
Congrats, Professor! You rock!
(Once in a while, we academic types are truly on the cutting edge…having written an academic paper on LI a year ago, I can say, “I was an LI aficionado before it was rated!”)

Good job Dr Jacobson
A Gingrich nomination would go some ways towards shedding that underrated bit, this site’s been a lighthouse for early supporters, that’s for sure
