Scott Walker Confronts Union Protesters at Iowa State Fair
“I am not intimidated by you, sir.”
Speaking on the soap box at the Iowa State Fair Monday morning, Governor Scott Walker was welcomed by an all too familiar crowd — union hecklers.
Rather than ignoring the front row rabble-rousers, Governor Walker confronted them directly.
“I am not intimidated by you, sir, or anyone else out there. I will fight for the American people over, and over, and over, again. You want someone who’s tested? I’m right here. You can see it. This is what happened in Wisconsin. We will not back down. We will do what is necessary to defend the American people going forward,” said Walker.
Scott Walker fired up: "I'm the only one who stood up to 100K protesters!" And to protester: "I'm not intimidated by you, sir!"

Scott Walker off the soapbox. I've never seen him get so angry and fired up before a crowd. Yelled back at protesters instead of ignoring.

Genuine reformer = Scott Walker
Crony and phony = Mr. Establishment (Donald Trump)
Neologism: Crophony.
That word is NOT in my Scrabble Dictionary, Mr. Henry Wordsmith Longfellow. No points for you.
Maybe the next edition will cover you. Maybe.
Well, that’s because it’s new! Blame Rags, not me.
Hey, we’re innovators here at LI.
Cutting EDGE, baby…
The use of all caps is a microaggression, you fontist bastage. I need a safe room. Where is the LI safe room?
Henry, the safe room, it’s the roomed marked Gender Neutered. I hear they have hankies and My Pretty Pony toys.
Henry, the LI safe room is behind a paywall. You can stay there while you exhibit case sensitivity and until a new edition of Rags comes out.
LOL! You guys crack me up! ?
Um, why would you expdect a neologism to be in any dictionary, let alone the notoriously defective OSPD? If it were in the dictionary it would no longer be a neologism.
(Side note: If you think OSPD is not defective, please explain why OSPD lists ai but not zo, or ma but not da. This is why I insist on playing with OSW instead.)
Sadly, humor eludes you Milhouse just like a “thumbs up” response does except when trolls come around and reveal their Progressive OCD.
When did they let you out, btw?
Just to remind y’all, Milhouse is a libertarian. Also, turn down that noise and get off his lawn.
Donald Trump is part of the establishment? Are you kidding me? The “establishment” is doing everything possible to get rid of him!
I have to agree with Izz. The establishment is working to elect Jeb Bush. And, they will try to paint Trump as an establishment insider to conservatives and as a crazy person with bad hair to everyone else. But, that does not mean he really is.
Ask yourself – who is most likely to radically change the direction of the country? The answer sure is not Jeb Bush.
However, I would be happy with Walker, Cruz, Trump or Fiarino. I could stomach a few others. I would stay home rather than vote for Bush.
Hillary Clinton: Made $billions selling influence.
Donald Trump: Made $billions buying influence.
I’m not seeing such a sharp line there.
Proving that, while cream rises to the top, shit floats.
The Republican Establishment and the left HATE Trump with a passion. So do some of the posters here. What a coincidence eh? 🙂
Me, I like Cruz, Walker, Carson, and Trump in that order; # 4 sends some into apocalyptic fits.
Perhaps SOME of the GOPe hate Mr. Establishment for running now.
THAT doesn’t change who he’s BEEN all his long, corrupt life.
Does it…???
And isn’t it just a lie to accuse people of hating Trump when all they do is rub who is IS in your face?
Isn’t it…???
You have a grossly exaggerated impression of your own intelligence, wit, and political savvy, but by all means continue with ankle biting almost every time I post. Doesn’t bother me and it gets you off the Establishment’s lap. 😉
😮
The use of emoticons is clearly a microaggression.* Where is the moderator when we need help to have some abusive microaggression stopped? I say “Help! Save me from microaggression!”
*Probably a white male micro-aggressor. Notice use of small letters for “white” and “male”, a little micro-aggressing of my own. So there.
Yeah.
Jeb is just Obama’s younger, dumber, paler brother…..
Snark!
(This just stuck someplace odd first time!)
Of course he is part of the establishment, when he wants to be. I heard him say that he pays a lot of money to politicians so that they will do what he wants. I heard him say he paid Mrs. Clinton a lot of money, and invited her to his wedding. This is what got our resident Libertarian, Rand Paul, all fired up in the first debate. If you didn’t watch it, it is still available online, and well worth seeing.
Rags, you need to calm down about Trump. Inserting his name here is trolling. Sorry but there is no soft way to say it.
Put your long range glasses on so you can see the big picture.
Get your head out of your ass so you can see Trump’s endgame.
Uh, I’d be able to see his end game if I had my head up his azz. But putting that aside, please tell us all what his “end game” is. I thought it was for him to get elected president but what the heck could I know since I’m just one of the great unwashed.
Stop you’re trolling…!!!
Trump: the Kardashian Candidate, on the basis of substance behind the cosmetics of rhetoric.
“Genuine reformer = Scott Walker
Crony and phony = Mr. Establishment (Donald Trump)”
While I disagree with your assessment of Mr Trump, Walker is a genuine reformer.
Good to see Walker’s blood up.
Yeah. Where was this Scott Walker at the debate?
He was on the lower end of time he got in the debate. I’ve seen video of him putting an edge on during the WI elections and union-busting. He can do it. I suspect/hope that the reason we don’t see it so much is because it’s honest, not an affectation, and something he damps down as a matter of personality, a trait that far preceeded his political career.
Walker strikes me as the kind of guy who is more comfortable acting as Indiana Jones, than the flashy swordsman … he lets his actions do the talking.
And I find that quite refreshing.
Walker is stumpin’ NOT Trumpin’.
Okay, that was both funny and quite clever. Just don’t do it again. 🙂
“Scott, why do you hate teachers?” Lower the voting age to 7 and you’ll find out, honey bunch…
He gave teachers a choice, and children a chance.
Hey, he should use that line!
Yeah, the teachers really think he hates them when he allows them to stop paying union dues … and half of them take him up on the offer … while greatly reducing the number of teachers that would be laid off without his reforms.
Of course, the Progressive Left that depends on the union laundering so much of their campaign cash … and works hard to keep teachers and other union rank-and-file on their plantation … is not pleased.
Too bad for them.
Go Scott Walker! He’s been there done that fighting union thugs and left wing pseudo-intellectuals — and he won!
Yeah.
Jeb is just Obama’s younger, dumber, paler brother…..
Snark!
Yes, I would very much like Scott Walker to do for the US what he did for Wisconsin, including any lessons learned in the process.
Scott Walker is one of several successful governors who has recent, useful executive experience in dealing with many of the problems we face as a nation.
And he won.
Thanks for the post, Kemberlee. It’s a timely reminder that while the other candidates are very good at casting themselves as champions of liberty…only one candidate has the actual battle scars to prove it.
I’ve gone from being amused to being confused with so many on the right who are discarding the substance of Walker’s time-tested experience in favor of the stump speeches of a reality TV billionaire who has admitted
“I probably identify more as Democrat…It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans.”
^^^THIS^^^
“I probably identify more as Democrat…It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans.”
That is a pretty dumb assessment. It would take an academic study to certify it, I suppose, but I’m about 99% sure that what happens is that when different Republican administrations were in power during Trump’s life, they passed pro-business/pro-economy legislation, a process that can take years, and then they leave office after a term or two. We frequently change out parties every term or two, so Dems follow Pubs follow Dems and so on.
Now, even good legislation takes time to blossom. And a lot of the time, it blossoms in the next administration, now Democrat, which modestly takes credit for it, of course.
Trump is Reality TV … Walker is just real.
Unfortunately, too many of us want our ears tickled with some fire-breathing rhetorical entertainment … to them I say:
Grow up.
Dump Trump.
Walk with Walker.
http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-08-17/scott-walker-being-trumped-by-the-donald-in-crucial-state-of-iowa
Huh. The LEFT-leaning Bloomberg lovin’ on that Mr. Establishment against Walker.
Union is showing it’s desperation, busing goons from WI to Iowa.
They aren’t the only ones.
Over at Instapundit, the comments thread associated with this LI post is now at 94 comments – with over 80 of them reported and therefore suppressed from view unless you click on the “view anyway” link.
Somebody doesn’t like what Walker’s doing, and getting props for it, over there.
I used to like to skim the comments at Insty, sometimes there’s some good insight to be found there. But ever since someone discovered using the “report abuse” button as a heckler’s veto, it’s become a real pain.
As was said in the movie XXX:
Most people talk a lot … few are up for the moment
Scott Walker has shown that he is up for this moment.
