Thanks Jezebel! Sincerely, Scott Walker

Thanks Jezebel! Sincerely, Scott Walker

The legend grows: The more they throw at Walker, the stronger he gets.

Gawker Media website Deadspin helped Cory Gardner win the Colorado Senate race, and contributed to Republicans taking the Senate, by botching a gotcha story about Garnder supposedly faking his high school football record. Deadspin was dead wrong, and we said Thanks Deadspin!

Now Gawker Media website Jezebel has done the equivalent for Scott Walker.

“Senior Reporter” (what could that possible mean at Jezebel?) Natasha Vargas-Cooper thought she had a big, BIG scoop that proved Walker hated women, or something. You see, Walker supposedly didn’t want sexual assault statistics reported by the University of Wisconsin because budget cuts would defund such reporting:

It was the perfect WAR ON WOMEN narrative. But Vargas-Cooper didn’t know the full story, perhaps because she was too busy dancing on Walker’s political grave.

The Daily Beast then picked up the story, and Scott Walker supposedly hating women spread like wildfire.

Turns out the reporting cut was requested by the University of Wisconsin itself because it was redundant of federal reporting it already did — why spend the money to report the same thing twice?

And the world came crashing down on Jezebel and Vargas-Cooper, but she stood strong in the face of the patriarchy:

Even as Jezebel issued a tepid correction.

Then The Daily Beast and others started denouncing Vargas-Cooper’s reporting:

Daily Beast Walker Retraction

Jezebel issued a second, more forceful correction and an apology, this time just under the banner, not at the bottom.

And Vargas-Cooper found God decided to try to keep her job, and apologized:

So what does all this mean?

First, Walker is supremely frustrating to Democrats and the liberal media. No matter what they throw at him, he just gets stronger.

Second, Walker is going through the vetting process by liberal media long before anyone else. Indeed, it’s just part of a process that has been going on for 4 years for Walker. If he survives it, which he likely will, he’ll emerge even stronger.

Third, coming after the Gail Collins fiasco of blaming Walker for budget cuts that took place before he took office, there will be more caution among the liberal media trying to get Walker. As much as “reporters” want a scoop, they don’t want to be Gail Collins or Natasha Vargas-Cooper.

Fourth, don’t think that the anti-Walker movement views this as a “loss.”  Scott Walker was smeared, it took time for the truth to come out, and the falsehood likely already is embedded in the public persona.

Fifth, we need to be vigilant and correctly aggressive in calling out the liberal media when it lies and misleads about Republican candidates.

We can’t stop the smears, but it does seem that the Force is with Walker. (h/t @TimSayWhat)

Ha. Not a chance. In fact, I’ll bet it gets even worse. These people have had plenty of opportunities to be shamed into caution — IT NEVER HAPPENS. They’re fanatical children, and live entirely in the moment of their rage. They don’t look back or think ahead.

This CHILD- there is no other word for it- has deleted her initial Tweets like this one: “Find another thing to be outraged about sweet, sweet Walkerites.”

Nice! Really mature and level-headed from someone who has just been found to be wrong. Snarky and defiant is no way to gain the trust of readers.

Snarky and defiant is no way to gain the trust of readers.

Actually, the readers her stuff is aimed at were probably cheering her snark & defiance. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out she’s under attack on twitter from those same people, for backing down.

Further proof that Scott Walker makes the Progressive Pajama Boy Press piss their onesies with fear. Of course they’re going to lie about him, and lie and lie and lie. It’s what they *do* (it’s certainly easier than committing actual journalism).

I’d like to be a Liberal for about five minutes so I could experience what it’s like to have a mind devoid of all logic, reason and common sense. But only for five minutes.

Separation of [Secular] Church and School. Assault is a criminal violation.

Suggested Walker response: “When federal reporting is as comprehensive as our own, why not put the money to better use on hiring more university cops to protect the victims of sexual assault instead of reporting the same crime twice.”

Scott Walker: “I’ve got binders full of discredited women journalists.”

As Rush frequently reminds, they will show you who they fear.

This is just the runup to 2016. He still has debates and the primaries gauntlet ahead of him. They’ll be laying little landmines right and left.

So many facts, so little time.

The Democrats “War on Women” has met the enemy and it is themselves, personified in one Notably Venal Character (NVC).

One has to wonder if Vargas-Cooper is getting the same pay as other senior reporters on staff. Hasn’t her value to her employer has been impacted negatively? Or does Gawker Media pay their people per apology? (Rhetorical question. I know the answer.)

I say it is time for a Gawker Media in-house review of Journalism 101 w/NVC, the North Viet-Cong of truth (shoot first, forget the questions).

Classically trained professional….. aw hell, you know the rest by now.

The “reporter” who wrote the Jezebel piece, Natasha VC, has now protected her Twitter account:

Brave, brave young reporter.

This has gotten to be a routine: lazy media partisan reports poorly researched facts, and Gov. Scott Walker prevails.

While I sincerely want my children to finish college, I have to recognize that there are a number of significant Americans who decided to get on with life instead of finishing college. Gov. Walker appears to be in this class.

The Republican Party has grown up a lovely bouquet of successful governors, any one of which would make a fine President, with a few Senators as a bonus. Gov. Walker is one of them, and I would be pleased to vote for him as President.

I am glad that the truth came out so quickly but the real truth is that most people will remember the headline and not the apology. This is the technique used by the left on every conservative pol. What we need is a new law that puts the burden of proof on the msm to print an accurate story or face huge monetary penalties. The way it stands now free speech, even if it is a lie, trumps the truth and there is no recourse for the victim. I believe there could be some compromise between the two positions.

Ever hear the one about the boy who cried wolf?

There is no need to change the law as these over the top allegations have a way of boomeranging on those who make them.

When I see big smears from tiny outlets against feared conservatives, I have to wonder if it’s some sort of ‘smear him!’ contract issued by the DNC and picked up by the first outlet that values publicity over credibility.

Jeepers…A T**t named “Jezebel” Tweets her Tweety on Facey and Insta and hashtags the grip and twist outta everybody’s mannish thongs..??!! That about it??

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…….

Generation of Idiots: Thank you, Albert E.

The WORLD Turned Upside Down: Thank you, Melanie P.

I see that her former employer had to issue corrections on her reporting as well:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/01/15/natasha-vargas-cooper-resigns-from-the-intercept-jezebel_n_6479820.html

Vargas-Cooper also said that the decision was not motivated by the several corrections that The Intercept had issued for part one of her interview with Urick.

The only respectable part of the Gawker network is Jalopnik. (Also Foxtrot Alpha is the bomb) The rest is exactly what you’d expect from liberal media who (pretty much accurately so far)believe themselves immune to consequences.
