Michele Tafoya Is Giving Democrats Nightmares in Minnesota Senate Race

Thanks to high-profile Senate races in states like Michigan, Maine, and Texas, the Minnesota race featuring GOP nominee and former sportscaster Michele Tafoya and Democratic Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan has received little national attention.

Tafoya, it seems, is using that to her advantage, appearing to prefer that the race not become a nationwide spectacle with big-name endorsements, flashing lights, and agenda-driven reporters from legacy media outlets trying to play cheerleaders for Democrats and run the gotcha games they typically run with Republican candidates.

In doing so, she’s been able to keep her focus squarely on Flanagan, who has been running with the baggage of the myriad fraud scandals on her back that she keeps trying (and failing) to lay solely at the feet of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D).

But Tafoya has been relentless, hammering Flanagan over the fraud in interviews, public appearances, campaign ads, and social media posts like these:

Tafoya has kept it simple, with her message being: Look all around you, Minnesota voters. Has one-party rule in your state served you well?

It’s not about red versus blue, she tells voters as she waves the independent candidate banner. It’s about right versus wrong.

Tafoya’s persistence appears to be paying off, as she’s been within the margin of error of Flanagan in nearly every poll over the last month and a half, with some more or less statistical ties.

“Believe it. Minnesota is in play for Republicans,” argues Townhall.com columnist Dustin Grage:

There’s even one more recent than those, from Big Data, showing Flanagan at 46% and Tafoya at 44%:

Flanagan, meanwhile, has done herself no favors:

Another area Tafoya has hammered Flanagan on is education:

Industrial-scale welfare fraud isn’t the only issue boosting Tafoya’s chances. In a small gathering recently in Manhattan, she noted that fewer than half of the kids in Minnesota can read or do math at grade level — a charge backed up by recent new data from the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments. State education officials blamed disruptive deportations of illegal immigrants by the Trump administration for the weak test results, but that won’t hold up. Passing the buck is convenient politically, but it doesn’t explain why the state’s children performed almost as poorly the year before.

Tafoya made her full case to voters in an opinion piece published last week by the Duluth News Tribune. But perhaps her best argument was made during a recent interview with Fox Business host Larry Kudlow:

We know that billions and billions of dollars left this state under her watch, along with Tim Walz. She’s tried to push the responsibility to the governor. I’m sorry, she was the lieutenant governor, while all of that happened, and while test scores plummeted, and while crime skyrocketed, and while taxes went up.

So people here in Minnesota are hurting; they’re looking at their pocketbooks, and they’re looking at their paystubs, and they’re saying, “I’m paying all these taxes to be here in Minnesota. And my governor and lieutenant governor and AG couldn’t keep that money in the state for people who needed it [but] didn’t get it?” They let it walk, and Peggy Flanagan is asking for a promotion to the Senate? At least Tim Walz had the sense to get out of his race.

“State education officials blamed disruptive deportations of illegal immigrants by the Trump administration for the weak test results,”

LOL wut? Minnesotans are THAT dumb? The dog ate their homework is 100 times more plausible.

The reason the test results are so bad is most of the kids went learing centers!

Oh, you have NO IDEA how dumb Minnesotans are. My wife and I are political and economic refugees from the Soviet Socialist State of Minnesota, and lived for 60 years in the Heart of the Hive™ of Southwest Minneapolis. We watched in horror as the city dragged the rest of the state down into the sewer, helpless to do anything. Our votes literally didn’t matter; our US House district vote 3-to-1 for Keith Muhammed X. Ellison, and then the same for his self-anointed successor, Ilhan Omar. I watched in disbelief as self-evident vote fraud occurred in front of my eyes, with the MPD officer refusing to do anything about it, saying “…that’s a federal matter.”

The self-loathing of these flaming liberal sh!theads is unsurpassed by anything ever seen. They’ll happily walk into the cattle cars in the end, assured that they’re “doing the right thing”. There is absolutely no relationship between cause (how they vote) and effect (how the city turns into a hellhole with zero rule of law). Difflers are gonna diffle (DFL – the name of the Communist Party in MN).

“Believe it. Minnesota is in play for Republicans.”

But the play is by Henrik Ibsen.

Trump should put Minnesota under federal control and round up the Democrat power structure there and throw them in GitMo.

Can you help me understand why Minnesota is so Cray Cray woke/leftist in comparison to their (in my understanding) comparable neighbor Wisconsin which seems to have retained some degree of sanity?

If she’s elected you’re still stuck with a woman.

We will ask Golda Meir and Maggie Thatcher what you mean by that.

inspectorudy in reply to Suburban Farm Guy. | October 3, 2026 at 1:37 pm

Unfortunately, like our founding fathers, there are no more like them. Can you imagine a 27 year old TODAY writing the Declaration of Independence? Thomas Jefferson did along with many other nation building documents. Meir and Thatcher were hardened in WW II and had no illusions abut mankind. Today women are off on tangets about themselves and their feelings, not about sacrifice and security.

He means that you had to reach so far back in history that he wins.

No way they let her win

Refs will intercede
She will be stopped 4th and z1 at the goal line

Off sides on the offense
Game over

She’s giving Republicans nightmares, too.
Literally every day she’s all up in my text messages with, “Hi, Friend, it’s Michelle Tafoya. Send me $15.” Sometimes twice.
It’s like owning a fat collie that whacks you in the ankles with her food bowl.
Hey, Michelle, did you run out of people in Minnesota that you have to bother people in Arizona? Why don’t you send ME $15, and I’ll donate it to Andy Biggs?

Are you sure those aren’t scammers?

My work mobile phone was the village bicycle for scammers and it was all MAGA. Pretty broad target with a 50/50 chance of hitting the right boomer.

henrybowman in reply to Andy. | October 3, 2026 at 8:57 pm

They all look like Winred links, but when I get tomorrow’s text from Michelle, I’ll click it and let you know. I ain’t a-scared o’ no links.

About two weeks ago. after Fetterman trashed the DSA or whatever he did last, I started getting beg texts “from” him, of all people, still with “red” and “patriot” links.

My suspicion here is that this IS a scam, but one being run by WinRed itself to the benefit of its general warchest (not individual candidates).

I mean, come on, “I AM DONALD TRUMP!” No, you are f*g not Donald Trump.

henrybowman in reply to Andy. | October 5, 2026 at 5:26 pm

Nope, the text messages lead directly to WinRed.
So it’s an OFFICIALLY AUTHORIZED scam.

Tafoya puts the d/prog off their usual tactics. Hard to use race and sex based attack v a hispanic Woman. Add to that she’s telegenic, a good communicator, very comfortable in front of the camera/on stage responding off the cuff. Plus the opponent is …odd, even for a d/prog in a blue State, the d/prog candidate is something.

Not a chance Tafoya wins. It has been 20yrs since a Republican won a statewide office in Minnesota.

If you haven’t lived there, it is impossible to comprehend how incredibly naive/politically stupid the white voters are.

Maybe the increasing Somali violent criminal activity will cause some to wake up to the reality, but I doubt it.

I left 2yrs ago. The 2020 riots made it clear the state was unsafe for white people.

Hijabs are now de rigeur for Democrat politicans (females and otherwise, that is) across the land, thanks to the lamentably stoopid in MN who elected Ilhan like-my-hajib Omar.

If Minnesota voters award fraud-enabling hard-leftist nutjob Flanagan with a U.S. Senate seat, the nickname of “The Gopher State” is being much too kind.

If Minnesota goes for the GOP, or even a right-of-center independent, it wll be a cold day in Hell.
