Flávio Bolsonaro’s Reportedly Flees Brazil for U.S. After Election Defeat

Flávio Bolsonaro’s Reportedly Flees Brazil for U.S. After Election Defeat

The Supreme Court ordered Bolsonaro to surrender his passport. He said he would do it, but sources now say he never complied.

Brazilian Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro has reportedly fled Brazil for America after losing the presidential race.

The news also comes hours after Bolsonaro said federal police asked him for his passport after he visited his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro, in prison.

The order relates to a money-laundering probe, in which Bolsonaro has denied wrongdoing.

Last week, Bolsonaro’s brother, Eduardo, suggested Flávio leave Brazil if he lost the election, according to NewsMax. Eduardo lives in America.

Bolsonaro barely lost the presidential runoff to leftist incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Sunday.

The senator posted a video on Monday:

Bolsonaro says he went to visit his imprisoned father, who is the former president of Brazil, and was confronted by “Lula’s Federal Police.”

“I went to visit my father… As I was leaving, Lula’s Federal Police were at his front door, and right there in the middle of the street.”

“I was served an order to surrender my passports; I am also prohibited from leaving the country…”

“This is a sign that our democracy has failed…”

“I will surrender my passports and defend myself against this travesty, which is a clear attempt to intimidate me. But no one will silence me…”

However, it seems Bolsonaro did not surrender his passport.

We have not heard from Bolsonaro since he posted the video.

Bolsonaro immediately questioned the election results after Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin, who spent a decade as Lula’s defense lawyer, ordered polls to stay open two hours after closing because of “transportation delays and bad weather.”

Lula appointed Zanin in 2023.

Bolsonaro’s complaint might not work since he also asked for an extension: “Flávio Bolsonaro’s campaign asked for an extension in 17 cities in São Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina states where, his lawyers wrote, rain, floods and electrical outages had delayed or prevented voters from getting to the polls.”

But still, analysts think the election might not stick:

Several electoral lawyers say today’s vote could be annulled due to confusion over the late decision to extend voting hours. All four lawyers interviewed call the situation unprecedented. “This is an extremely serious, critical situation,” said Priscilla Sodré Pereira, an electoral lawyer. Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin decided, minutes before polls closed, to extend all polling stations by two additional hours. By the time of the announcement, some polling centers had already closed, their voting machines had shut down, and they could not reopen. Fernnado Neisser, an electoral law professor at Fundação Getulio Vargas, a Brazilian research institute, said the election could be annulled if the margin is very narrow and it is shown that polling stations stayed open longer in areas that strongly favor one candidate.

Numerous poll workers nationwide said they received confusing and sometimes contradictory orders from electoral authorities. At a polling site in central São Paulo, one election worker said that by 5 p.m. local time, she and her colleagues heard that the Supreme Court had ordered polling sites to remain open two more hours. However, local authorities ordered them to shut down. The worker, who gave her name only as Bárbara because she feared repercussions, said they eventually got orders to reopen by 6 p.m., but it was too late for many voters.

Should be *Flavio Bolsonaro* reportedly flees. No ‘s after Bolsonaro.

The system in Brazil (particularly the courts) appears to be completely corrupt. Bolsonaro Jr. is better off leaving before they can throw him in prison.

“Bolsonaro barely lost the presidential runoff to leftist incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Sunday.”

He didn’t lose, he was cheated.

I don’t know how power is divided in Brazil, but hope that we can work with the Senate controlled by Bolsonaro’s party.

At the same time I hope we take a hard line against the tyrants in their executive and judicial branches.

Hopefully there is a way to invest and trade with companies aligned against the communists and ban the same with those aligned with them.

So, which country does JD Vance flee to after AOC gets 81M votes?
Used to be Brazil, but I think that is off the table these days. Draft dodgers went to Canada, also a no go.
???

If anyone deserves a safe haven in the US, it is Bolsonaro.

It’s unclear if Lula actually won legitimately, it’s unclear if the election was honest, but since the approved candidate won the media aren’t interested.

But if Lula tries to toss Bolsonaro Jr into prison after his picked judges convicted the father of attempting a coup, that does rather look like socialist one party rule in effect is nearing.

Of course the MSM only object to party rule when it’s the wrong party in power so …
