Khanna Adviser has Ties to Group Connected to China, Fang Fang

The New York Post reported that the nonprofit with links to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the alleged Chinese spy Fang Fang continues to put interns in political offices.
Axios exposed Fang Fang in December 2020. She allegedly used her role as president of a chapter of the Asian Pacific American Public Affairs (APAPA) group to target politicians in California and a few across the country to develop strong ties with them and place people in their offices.
The report also revealed a close relationship with disgraced former California Rep. Eric Swalwell.
Well, the New York Post just uncovered another APAPA higher-up connected to lawmakers.
It’s another California Democrat: Rep. Ro Khanna. Yikes:
Henry Yin, 79, is APAPA’s national chair and has claimed to be an adviser to California Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna.
Yin, a Chinese-American, is associated with numerous United Front groups, which are arms of the CCP. Between 2013 and 2023, Yin traveled to China to promote tech investment as the “head of the Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Delegation,” where he gave speeches on “perspectives as overseas Chinese in the US,” according to the party-controlled Sichuan Daily News.
Yin is also named in reports by the CCP-controlled Sichuan Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, which refer to him by his Chinese name as an “overseas Chinese leader in California and Silicon Valley.” A 2013 report from the ministry also mentions an education foundation scholarship in the Yin family’s hometown in Sichuan province, which the ministry supported.
The Yin family is also credited as investing in Renshou County’s “development of science and technology industries,” and attracting investment from the US.
Yin made it big in 2010 when then-California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed him to the California Commission for Economic Development.
Jerry Brown, Schwarzenegger’s successor, renewed the appointment four years later.
Khanna named Yin as a senior advisor in 2019.

But Yin’s LinkedIn page shows he still works as a senior advisor to Khanna.
Weird.
Khanna has brushed off the report. His spokeswoman said the congressman has no connection to Yin: “Henry lives in Fremont and is a respected community member, but has never held a formal role with the Congressman.”
Why does it matter?
Khanna serves as the ranking member of the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, a panel created “to investigate CCP influence on the US.”
Khanna has come out strong against data centers:
He recently asked for a data center “bill of rights” to guard against their proliferation in the US — at a time when recent intelligence reports have indicated the CCP is conducting a coordinated campaign to stall the development of US AI data centers.
APAPA said it has “not taken a position” on the issue of data centers, but added: “Personal views of individuals associated with APAPA do not represent an organizational position.”
Khanna isn’t the only lawmaker who has links to APAPA:
- In Brooklyn, Assemblyman William Colton took home a “Community Champion Award” from APAPA at the group’s 2023 gala. Colton’s former longtime aide, Susan Zhuang, was a volunteer and member of APAPA.
- Democratic New York State Senator Samra Brouk has hosted APAPA interns in her office, according to APAPA’s website, as has Democratic New York State Assemblyman Ron Kim.
- In California, Marilyn Cachola Lucey, APAPA’s national Chief Operating Officer is a former policy director for California Assemblywoman Rebecca Bauer-Kahan.
- Another APAPA board member, Andrew Truman Kim, worked as an aide to Rep John Garamendi (D-Calif.)
None of these people have been accused of any wrongdoing. Watchdog groups have long urged lawmakers and officials to remain on high alert.
“APAPA is a locus of pro-CCP activity,” said Jackie Deal, a senior fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia. “Its mission is explicitly political.”
“Public officials should strongly scrutinize any APAPA efforts that align with CCP objectives, including the CCP influence operations to prevent data center construction across America,” stressed Michael Lucci, founder and CEO of State Armor, a nonprofit countering CCP threats.

Personally, I think that there is a time and a place for the interests of foreign governments to be heard by elected officials.
I do not believe there is a time or place for agents of foreign governments to be on the payroll of elected officials.
Once that line is crossed, as is the case with agents of the CCP mentioned here, lawmakers should be shown the door and the agents sent to prison.
How is something like this even conceivable?
There is a lot about our country that is inconceivable to me, and it grows exponentially more inconceivable daily.
You and me, both. This is not the country in which I grew up.
If I ever fly a flag again it will be a 48 state flag. THAT is the country I remember.
High trust. Low surveillance. Property rights. Manners. Everyday discourse that was not peppered with vulgarity. Police officers dressed like police officers and not an occupation force, and they maintained peace, not breaking down doors, terrorizing children and shooting the family dog because they “got a tip”.
Agree. But the ever increasingly totalitarian surveillance state is being driven by the increase in (actual) lawlessness and our ever “improving” technological capabilities. I doubt there is any way to stop it.

“Law Enforcement” is a long way from “Policing”, which is a ways from “Peace Officer.” There’s a bit of each in each term, but the names tell you what comes first.
I’m so old, I remember when SWAT meant “special.” Somehow, it’s not SOP to ask after every armored raid: “Was there a lighter way to do this?”
Khanna is pro-piker pro-DSA anti-israel and wants to be president. He’s a first rate ahole and as much of a publicity seeker as Schift for Brains and Fartman are. Now he’s obviously pro-CCP and wants to hamstring our country’s AI efforts. Each one of these democrats is worse then the last one and that is saying something considering how bad they all are.
No way, I can’t believe you’re telling me there’s links between politicians and a ‘public affairs/political action committee/NGO’ which promotes their own viewpoint, wants better relationships between foreign Nation(s) and the USA and that there may be (probably are) at least some degree of influence from and coordination between this entity and foreign Govt(s)?
It is becoming more apparent that Democrats are bought and paid for by the Chinese communists. We are allowing them in to our society to spy and take us down. Not allowing them into our universities is one of the first things we need to do to stop them under mining our country. History has proven that their system has resulted in failure where ever it has been tried. Millions of dead and oppressed people are the usual results. Russia ,China and North Korea are prime examples that come to mind.
Yin needs to be “Yanged”.
