Birth Tourism Hearing: Doctor Behind ‘Have My Baby in Miami’ Invokes Fifth Amendment
The doctor has boasted about helping over 2,000 foreigners give birth to their children in America to gain citizenship.
The Oversight Committee’s Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses took on birth tourism today.
Chairman Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) brought forth Dr. Wladimir Lorentz, a Miami doctor and founder of “Have My Baby in Miami.” He has boasted about helping over 2,000 foreigners give birth to their children in America to gain citizenship.
How did the questioning go? Lorentz answered one question:
GILL: You run a medical business. Is that correct?
LORENTZ: I am. Yes, I am.
After that, Lorentz invoked the Fifth Amendment:
On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer the question on the grounds that a truthful answer may tend to incriminate me, and I invoke my rights under the Fifth Amendment to the United States.

It looks like the website no longer works. But Gill harvested information before it went away. Gill wrote to Lorentz in May:
The “Have My Baby in Miami” website suggests that the firm is engaged in birth tourism. First, the firm explicitly markets its services to international patients, stating that “the dream of having your child in the United States is closer to reality.” While specific pricing for maternity packages is not publicly listed, the website offers a “Step by Step Guide” walking prospective foreign clients through the process of traveling to and from Miami to give birth. Interested clients must contact the firm directly by phone, email, or WhatsApp to obtain cost information, at which point they would likely also learn of additional fees, such as registration, extended hospital stays, and medical tests and exams. Beyond prenatal and postpartum care, the firm offers foreign expectant mothers a broader suite of services, including logistics support, temporary housing assistance, and legal consultations, provided either directly or through affiliated third party providers.
The fight against birth tourism has amped up since SCOTUS ruled that children born to women illegally or temporarily in the country “are citizens at birth.”

There seems sufficient PC to get a hold of this guy’s financial records, office records, business financial record to see if the claims made on his company website, marketing materials and online statements match his IRL actions.
What crime has he committed?
I assume these women come in under tourist visas?

It’s not illegal for foreign travelers to give birth in the U.S. However misrepresenting or hiding the true purpose of travel when applying for a temporary visitor visa is a crime.
Dr. Lorentz operated a birth tourism agency where he intentionally coached, facilitated & conspired with foreign nationals to deceive U.S. immigration authorities to bypass standard vetting. He was actively involved in this visa fraud scheme by acting as the facilitator and coordinator. He held dual roles both a medical doctor and a business owner where he profited both ways—coming and going and was in the fraud scheme up to his eye balls.
Perhaps it’s time to delineate a circumstance in which we immediately “separate families”. Keep the babies, send back the mothers, and this won’t be so attractive any more.
Exactly. The Parents are clearly ‘unfit’ b/c their first act as Parents was to involve their child in an activity to defraud the immigration enforcement system to illicitly secure Citizenship for a child that would otherwise not be born in the the USA. Every birth by ANY foreign National without a green card should result in:
1. Mandatory reporting by Hospital/ Providers to ICE
2. Deportation for the Parents
3. Permanent bar on reentry for those Parents
4. Child picked up by child Protective Services and placed for adoption.
Would require changes to TPS/Asylum and visa compliance to create prohibition on becoming pregnant and mandatory reporting to State Dept within 96 hours of knowledge they are pregnant so the Feds can update their status and facilitate their removal.
