Report: Iran Tried to Assassinate Netanyahu’s Son Yair in Miami

A day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that Iran tried to kill one of his sons, Newsmax has confirmed that his eldest son, Yair, was targeted in Miami, Florida. A team of Iranian assassins was “in the Miami area and had conducted surveillance of Yair’s residence and movements,” the news website reported Tuesday, quoting an official.
According to Newsmax, the plot was uncovered by Israeli intelligence last December. Yair was safely evacuated and returned to Israel.
Media speculation began on Monday after Prime Minister Netanyahu told Israel’s Channel 14 that “Iran tried to kill, to murder one of my sons.” Netanyahu did not elaborate further. He has two sons, Yair and Avner, aged 35 and 31, respectively.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son Yair was the target of an Iranian assassination plot while living in South Florida, Newsmax has learned, adding a dramatic new dimension to Netanyahu’s disclosure this week that Tehran sought to murder one of his children.
Netanyahu revealed the plot Monday during an interview with Israel’s Channel 14 but declined to identify which of his two sons — Yair or Avner — had been targeted.
“There is something here that is unbelievable,” Netanyahu said. “Iran targeted one of my sons. Iran tried to murder him, tried to murder one of my sons.”
But a U.S. law enforcement source familiar with the matter told Newsmax that the intended target was Yair Netanyahu, the prime minister’s 35-year-old eldest son, who had been living in Hallandale Beach, near Miami.
According to the source, Israeli intelligence learned last December of an Iranian plot to assassinate Yair in Florida and alerted U.S. authorities.
The source said it was believed Iranian operatives were already “on the ground” in the Miami area and had conducted surveillance of Yair’s residence and movements.
Yair, who has an Israeli security detail with him at all times, was told to leave immediately, the source said.
He departed without taking his belongings and returned immediately to Israel, where he is now living.
The revelation comes on the heels of Iranian state media offering a $10 million bounty for President Trump’s youngest son, Barron. In July, regime-run media outlets called for the killing of the first lady, Melania Trump. In both cases, Iranian TV channels aired the whereabouts and personal details of the president’s family.
In June 2026, Iran’s ruling Mullahs issued a fatwa, or religious edict, commanding Muslims to kill President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu. The fatwa “declared US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu madhur al-dam – individuals whose blood, under their interpretation of Islamic law, may supposedly be shed with impunity,” the Jerusalem Post reported at that time. “They went further, proclaiming that killing either leader had become a religious duty for anyone able to reach them.”

It’s not really that unbelievable. This is what war used to be. And, with everyone whacking mullah leadership at every turn, they felt it was tit-for-tat.
I would have preferred we found the potential assassins, though, and put them 6 feet under than that the son went home.

No one is asking a lot of questions about how Israel has determined the identities of every single person involved in 10/7 including where they sleep.
That was my thought exactly! Couldn’t they coordinate with the Mossad to make it seem that the son was still in Hallandale to flush out the Iranian team? Shouldn’t we be concerned that a hit team from Iran was wandering around SE Florida?
