Former DNC Fundraiser: Major Democratic Donors are Done With Kamala Harris
“Kamala Harris is living in fantasyland… [thinking] that big donors would bet on her again”
Lindi Li is a former DNC fundraiser who became quite vocal after the 2024 presidential election, slamming the party for reckless spending on Kamala’s doomed campaign. She also claimed that quite a few people became wealthy during those months.
Now she says major Democratic donors are not excited about funding another run for Harris. None of this is surprising. Donors gave the Harris campaign approximately $2 billion to work with, yet she still ended her campaign in debt.
Kamala’s polling isn’t helping, either.

A former Democratic National Committee (DNC) fundraiser warned Saturday on “My View with Lara Trump” that major donors are unlikely to support former Vice President Kamala Harris in another presidential run, arguing the party is struggling with internal divisions, fundraising problems and a weak 2028 field.
Lindy Li contended that political donors view their contributions as a “business proposition” and will not continue backing candidates or organizations they believe mishandled their money.
Li criticized the party’s post-election accountability and said donor frustration is contributing to broader Democratic fundraising problems.
“There’s been no accountability. The autopsy that they sent out was basically a sham, and they couldn’t even stand behind it. They didn’t even mention the fact that Kamala Harris is a terrible candidate,” she said.
“Kamala Harris is living in fantasyland… [thinking] that big donors would bet on her again,” she added. “She should just go away because the American people do not want her agenda.”
Li noted roughly $2.5 billion was spent between Harris’ campaign operation and the pro-Harris Future Forward super PAC. Federal filings show Harris’ principal campaign committee alone reported about $1.18 billion in disbursements during the 2023-24 cycle.
Li made the case that Democratic fundraising troubles are connected to dissatisfaction with the party’s drift leftward, criticizing Democrats for embracing socialist policies.
“This is why donors like me left the party in droves. And this is why they are so… broke. They literally had to put up their own headquarters… as collateral. They can’t even get a text back from donors. So I don’t want to hear anything about a big tent. You should not be normalizing socialism like this,” she said.
Lindi Li recently appeared on FOX News to talk about this issue and the rise of the DSA. She is not a fan of what is happening to the party.

That great sucking sound outside the DNC convention in 2028 will be the tricks turned by Kameltoe on DNC convention goers and anyone with a $20 using the skills well honed on Willie Brown.
Maybe they should communicate that more clearly and more publicly to Rep Jim Clyburn and the party elders who just moved the South Carolina primary to ‘first in the Nation’ status for ’28 in order to assist a potential Harris candidacy. Gonna be interesting to see how the d/prog spin the fact they wanna jettison the ‘First Black Female Vice President’ as their standard bearer. If so then it probably means they need to appease both women and POC in their party which seems to over emphasize tribal considerations …which means AOC is the natural replacement as she fits the criteria.

Seems to me that it might be electorally challenging to d/prog success to say the least should the d/prog reject the most loyal demographic of d/prog voter; black females. They allowed Clyburn to demand Harris as the cost of his support to rescue the Biden campaign in ’20. She got railroaded into the nomination in ’24 after Biden’s collapse and was frankly doomed from the outset. Tossing her aside for a ‘militant Muslim’ Marxist seems like a bridge too far in ’28.
I’d argue they want to dump her but get caught in their own diversity/identity politics trap and let her run in ’28. Best case they win with Trump off the ballot and all the idiocy of anti Vance mania being ginned up by DC establishment/neocons scared (correctly) that he will be more center/right populist than Trump and worst case they clear decks for ’32.

I’d say the mayors have already sent the message that the black folk line for favors begins BEHIND the immigrants, Muslim and otherwise, One of the few authentically grassroots movements in the Party.
Yes and that might work (temporarily) in some deep blue jurisdictions where a small shift away from d/prog isn’t crucial. I’d say that scenario is less workable in Purple/Swing States/CD.
Heck even in deep blue jurisdictions like Chicago there’s already resentment and dissatisfaction being aired in public at city council meetings from ‘black’ folks asking why they were told for decades ‘funding was unavailable’ for their community priorities but suddenly there’s funding for ‘migrants’.
That’s the problem with the d/prog diversity olympics, identity politics, tribalism. Each group wants ‘their share’ of the pie and there’s not enough pie to go around. If the d/prog try to tell ‘blacks’ to be like Milton in the movie Office Space and ‘just pass’ instead of taking/keeping a piece ….I predict a similar ending.

If a “real” Black Man runs in 2028, he will easily smoke Kamala in the SC Primary. She is a placeholder, not a contender. If Mamdani goes for Chucko’s Senate seat, AOC will probably go for President – especially if Tucker announces a 3rd party bid next year, and AOC smells an opportunity to win the Presidency with a low 40’s total vote like Bill Clinton did when Perot took 18%.

Maybe Li doesn’t need new information. History shows that anyone who secures the Communist Party nomination for President and then loses the general election doesn’t get a second try at it. What Li described is exactly how Communist Party satraps and voters have behaved for almost three quarters of a century.

I would *love* to see that. Do I think it’ll happen? Hell if I know. Probably not. My guess is that the Democrats will find some uninspiring figure who can mouth empty platitudes and sacrifice them to keep the party intact for another few years. I mean, hell, Kamala Harris meets that criteria, but will they pick a loser like her again?

Donors? Their donation builds a connection (aka “business proposition”) between them and an office, the candidate is secondary. I think that the higher the office, the less important the actual candidate is. That explains Biden, and the failed Harris presidential run.. But if the candidate really doesn’t stand a snowflake’s chance in hell, there is a problem.
This is really sad, and really true but it explains so many politicians, they are placeholders. We can either buckle up, or hide somewhere.
