David Hogg Says Democratic Moderates ‘Don’t Have the Right Values’

Democratic activist David Hogg, who briefly served as DNC vice chair in 2025, told CNN host Kaitlan Collins last week that moderates in his party “don’t have the right values.”
Mind you, this is the same David Hogg who supported Maine Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner right up until he dropped out of the race due to credible accusations of rape.

Former Democratic National Committee Vice Chair David Hogg told moderate Democrats they “don’t have the right values” Thursday during an appearance on “The Source,” arguing the party establishment is repeatedly losing because its priorities are out of step with Americans as progressive candidates score primary victories ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Hogg made his sharpest criticism after host Kaitlan Collins asked what he would tell moderates concerned that progressive nominees could struggle against Republicans in general elections.
“The reason why the establishment of our party is being defeated over and over and over again is because they don’t have the right values that are aligned with not the Democratic base, but the American people,” Hogg said. “Where people are sick and tired of listening to Democrats and tell them all the reasons why they can’t solve their problems.”
Hogg told moderates they needed to change their approach rather than ask successful progressive candidates to move toward the center.
“I would say to the moderates in our party, ‘You need to figure out how to actually offer something new to voters that isn’t just the same message that you gave them in 2024,'” Hogg said.

After “surviving” he created an anti-gun group and ran around giving talks.
He got denied entry to every college because of low SATs but then somehow was admitted to
Harvard. He graduated from there.
He got himself elected VP of the DNC and then got himself effectively kicked out of office because of his divisiveness.

Not true. There was only one shooter, and he was at school when it happened. When it was over he went home, fetched his camera, and came back to start making propaganda videos about it.
Calling himself a “survivor” of a school shooting is a stretch, because he was never personally in danger. I “survived” a hike today, and the drive home. Am I a “survivor” of these events? When there was a shooting in the Tacoma Mall some years ago, I was in a nearby store and came out of that store to find myself inside the police barricade. Did I “survive” that event? I don’t make any such claim. (Even my hike and drive today involved putting myself in positions in which physical harm, even death, could have occurred, I don’t think that qualifies for “survivorship.”)
He was hiding in a closet in a completely different building. When my neighbor across the street was robbed, I didn’t claim victimhood.
This comes up with “Holocaust survivors”. What counts? Someone who was actually in Nazi custody at some point while the killing was going on? Someone who was under German rule at some point during those years? Someone who got out of Germany before the killing started, or who got out of territory soon to be occupied by Germany before it was occupied?
Hard to keep my school shooters straight. Ahhh this was the one reported multiple times including to the FBI. Also the one the Sherriff Deputy was on sight quickly by refused to engage.
There was another student there (with good grades) who got into Harvard but had his admission revoked because he wasn’t anti-gun and was going around saying so.

The big tent originated with the traveling circus which featured acrobats, clowns, freaks and fraudsters. As the famous circus man said, “A sucker is born every minute.”
Years later the circus merged with the democrat party and to this day still takes in a lot of gullible people.
The Democratic Party is a “Big Tent” in the same way that San Francisco is a “Big Bathroom.”
Democrats and Republicans both command about 40 percent of voters.
So to win a primary, you need 51 percent of 40 percent, or about 21 percent of the voters.
This has kept both parties close to the center for most of our history.
We shall see how it works out this year.
You need independents which tend to be in the middle except for pikers like Bernie and oddballs like Maine’s King. Capture the independents you win the election assuming your party comes out and votes for you.
The Dems may end up in control of one or both chambers of Congress after the midterms, but if there are enough socialists in their ranks, they may find it difficult, and sometimes impossible, to have a voting majority, as the socialists types are likely to throw hissy fits for not getting their way in some matters (and withholding their votes), and for the slightly more moderate Dems refusing to toe the loony Left line (and withholding their votes in some matters). The schism between MAGA and RINOs has led to similar infighting. It remains to be seen if the usually monolithic, lock-step marching Democrats can keep order in their own party.
I seem to remember large blocs of immigrant voters (mostly Muslims) whining that they would not support Harris in the last election because of insufficient pandering to their parochial issues. After the election, I never heard a thing more about it. Did anybody run the numbers? Did they really strike or did they fold their bluff like good little commie lemmings?

The parties align along worldviews nowadays, not mere political concepts. (And a great many Republicans have the party aligned with Progressivism, too. Just a slower progress with lower taxes and more big business.)

“Hogg” can also mean a yearling sheep, and that’s a more likely origin for the surname, though no one can say for sure since it goes back about 1000 years.
