Byron Donalds Trounces MSNOW Contributor in Debate About Vaccinations
“Under the previous administration, more than 10 million people came into the country illegally, and I know for a fact, just like everybody else — you can read your notes too — they weren’t checking their vaccination schedules coming into the United States.”
Republican Rep. Byron Donalds (FL-19) is the GOP candidate for governor of Florida. He appeared on Bill Maher’s show on Friday night and had a fascinating exchange with MSNBC contributor Molly Jong-Fast.
She was clearly gearing up for a line of questioning to make Donalds look like some kind of anti-vaccine kook, but his response was so sharp and intelligent that it left her head spinning. Donalds even got applause from Maher’s liberal audience.
Transcript by the Vigilant Fox:
MOLLY JONG-FAST: “You’ve had to say some stuff. Like last week on Margaret Brennan’s show, you said rampant illegal immigration was the cause for this measles outbreak and not not being vaccinated. I’m curious. Like, I have three kids. You have three kids. Do you not vaccinate your kids?”
BYRON DONALDS: “My oldest son is 23 years old. The vaccination schedule for him was less intense than the vaccination schedule for my 15-year-old son. And if you have talked to my mom, the vaccination schedule for me, being 47 years old, was not nearly as intense as it is for newborns today.
“So I think there are parents, there are mothers who have real concerns about the frequency of vaccines for young infants into just being a toddler. And so I think the order that came out the other day from the White House was, well, let’s just spread the vaccination schedule back out. Let parents have an ability to make those decisions for their children with informed consent. And then the last piece is, let’s also make sure that the human body in its infancy can actually manage the amount of vaccines that are being put into their child. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”
BILL MAHER: “I don’t either.”
JONG-FAST: “We have people dying of measles. We had two people in Ohio die of measles. We were almost eradicated from measles and now we have measles again, and there’s a reason for that. And the idea that you said illegal immigration causes—”
DONALDS: “Under the previous administration, more than 10 million people came into the country illegally, and I know for a fact, just like everybody else — you can read your notes too — they weren’t checking their vaccination schedules coming into the United States. That’s a fact. That’s number one.
“Number two, there was a measles outbreak in a couple of the detention facilities on the southern border. There was a measles outbreak in El Paso, Texas. There was also one in Chicago at another illegal immigration facility. Those are the facts.
“So when you let that many people come into your country, when we already know in other countries they don’t have the vaccination schedule that we have, and then when the Department of Health and Human Services is talking about American children, now you’re finding fault with vaccination schedules for American children? I don’t think that’s an accurate way to look at it.”
Watch the whole thing, it’s outstanding:
MSNBC contributor tries to corner Byron Donalds on measles and demands to know if he vaxxes his kids.
His answer left her looking stupid. And Bill Maher even piled on at the end.

I walked away from this video thinking Byron Donalds is going to easily win the Florida governor’s race. He’s good.

But, but… HOW could Daniels win the FL Gov race when his a POC? Don’t you know that Republicans are all RAYCISS?
The one thing he could have added, had he wanted to grind his boot in her face a bit more, was that those two deaths in Ohio were “… with Measles…” and NOT “….from Measles…”.
Professor, I refuse to beg and grovel for an edit button.
I believe it was PA not Ohio as MS Jong-Fast claimed. One death was an infant ineligible to take the vaccine due to age and the other reportedly had a perforated liver.
The Gov of PA Josh Shapiro should be ashamed to try and resurrect the Covid era nonsense of blurring death statistics From/With. Anyone who engages in such blatant dishonesty should be ostracized and driven from public life.
He’s desperately trying to
to be relevant in a DSA world
That seems as accurate an inference as any other. Particularly given he was/is far superior to Walz but wasn’t selected as VP for the Harris campaign b/c he was considered ‘too Jewish’ …which sounds like dialogue from a Mel Brooks movie …but it became real life.
If I recall correctly you’re referring to the same death. The baby did test positive for measles, but the cause of death was a lacerated spleen, which has nothing to do with the measles. Last I heard we didn’t know anything about the second one, except that his death was not reported to the coroner, which is mandatory for any death from infectious disease, so the obvious conclusion is that it wasn’t attributed that way.
To a battle of wits, Jong Fast hyphen whatever comes unarmed.
Dumb demmy broads, a dime a dozen.
Byron Donalds doesn’t miss a beat, admirable even when the interviewer is a moron.
Donalds is sharp; he will make a great successor to Governor DeSantis.

This is just The Orchestration Coalition (AKA The Atonement Arbiters)(*) at work directing the guilty proles they control — us — to make whole the deserving oppressed they serve — them.
I, myself, am unreformed, “irredeemable” even: You wanna do penance with a knotted rope, flail your own back. While your at it, convince me you don’t get off on that. If it’s your kink, it doesn’t count as atonement. (Rules, people.)
(*)Those terms work; gonna keep them. Like “Screaming Ds” and “CCP China”
