Boston Mayor Michelle Wu Warns Property Owners Not to Partner With ICE

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is ‘hunting down’ law-abiding private property owners in the name of protecting criminal illegal migrants.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is threatening private property owners not to lease parking space to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

The mayor sent the letter in response to a public notice from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) seeking more space to accommodate upcoming immigration enforcement surges in 14 cities, including Boston.

Wu said that renting space to ICE “would constitute an unprovoked and unwarranted escalation, creating potentially significant risks to public safety and halting economic activity across our entire region.”

The operations, which have largely targeted criminal illegal migrants, would make the city less safe, Wu claimed.

She wrote:

ICE’s threats against cities are not new. This federal administration has used ICE surge operations to attack peaceful American cities with deadly and disastrous consequences, from Biddeford, ME to Houston, TX. In February, following the fatal shootings of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, MN, I joined together with six other cities across Greater Boston and signed Executive Orders prohibiting ICE from staging its operations on municipal property and parking lots.

“Today, I ask you to join us: Reject any proposition by ICE to facilitate an attack on the people of Boston,” she added.

As a subtle threat, Wu noted she filed a Freedom of Information Act request to find out which businesses in the city had offered to partner with DHS.

Citizens, Wu included, are of course free to ask who the federal government is working with on immigration enforcement. Government contracts should be public information.

But the message is clear from the Boston mayor: You better not work with ICE or there will be consequences.

DHS responded to the threats, calling them “unhinged.”

“These actions by sanctuary Mayor Michelle Wu are unhinged,” an Aug. 18 X post read. “She knows she has NO authority to block us from using private property.”

The department accused Wu of “hunting down private property owners and threatening them for working with ICE – because she’d rather intimidate law-abiding Bostonians than get criminal illegal aliens OFF the street.”

Wu has long favored criminal illegal immigrants over ICE agents who are enforcing the rule of law. She has compared law enforcement agents to neo-Nazis for wearing masks, as Legal Insurrection has previously reported.

She also refused to allow ICE to use city property and promised to look into ways to criminally prosecute federal agents.

Her resistance to law enforcement has not completely stopped immigration agents from making Boston safer.

Little did we know that Boston’s golden age was when crooked micks were calling the shots. They may have stolen like crazy, but they took care of their own. Now a bunch of dykes, moon-bat chicks, and cuck soy-boys act as race traitors, supporting this nasty oriental narcissist.

This is why the people in Providence loved Buddy Cianci. He was a thug and a crook, but he cared for the city, its people, and ran the city fairly well (at least).

To paraphrase myself, I’d vote for thug that loves his city and its people before I’d vote for a lunatic Lefty who has no such love. This, for me, would be a no-brainer.

Too easy. Don’t worry about a parking lot for ‘staging’ operations. DHS should make full use of the 100 mile border zone and erect Traffic Control Points to screen every vehicle at those locations. Run them 24/7 and shifting locations around as needed ….other than the tunnels, bridges, ferry, airport and seaport access points which would be permanent.

Park a bus at each TCP. When full transport them to a Federal facility. When nearby facilities are full send them to Louisiana, Texas, Alabama or Florida. Any vehicle/vessel transporting illegal aliens gets seized under civil asset forfeiture. When the leftist/wokiestas become rabid and their rent a mob shows up to disrupt operations …arrest them. If there’s too large/too violent a mob for the dozen ICE agents at the TCP to deal with call up the NG into Federal service. If that sparks additional rioting and loss of control …well golly gee whiz ..send in the 10th Mountain Div to occupy the City and appoint Greg Bovino as the interim czar of Boston to run operations to quell the insurrection while accomplishing the original mission to ID, locate and remove illegal aliens from Boston. I’m sure Mr Bovino would relish the opportunity though he and Trump/Homan may be on the outs.

Wu, Newscum, Mamdummy, Pickzer, etc., etc., need to be federally charged with aiding and abetting international criminals.

Until a major g’vment official is charged/convicted this stupidity will ramble on.

They are not committing any crime. They are not aiding or abeting anyone, and their refusal to cooperate is their constitutional right. Everything they’re doing is within the law.

But I like Chief’s idea of the border patrol setting up checkpoints and being as much of a pain in their collective rear end as possible until they relent.

And it requires New York’s DMV Commissioner to promptly tip off any illegal alien when a federal immigration agency has requested his or her information. . See § 201.12(b). As its supporters and sponsors made clear, the Green Light Law was passed to directly impair the enforcement of the federal immigration laws in New York.

Tell me again how they are not aiding and abetting illegal activity.

The mayor can decide her city won’t cooperate with ICE, but she’s gone beyond that by attempting to prevent ICE from acquiring what it needs for its mission, passing from non-assistance into obstruction. It’s the difference between not opening a gate for ICE and placing a lock on it to prevent ICE from opening it. Throw intimidation into the mix, and the fact that Boston is acting in cooperation with other cities, and maybe RICO might apply? Threats and intimidation are the stock and trade of criminal enterprises.

BTW, she’s not threatening property owners directly. The city doesn’t have to lift a finger. All it need do is expose the private property owners who are cooperating with ICE and the Left’s street thugs will do the rest.

t she’s gone beyond that by attempting to prevent ICE from acquiring what it needs for its mission, passing from non-assistance into obstruction.

No, she hasn’t. She’s not obstructing anything.

It’s the difference between not opening a gate for ICE and placing a lock on it to prevent ICE from opening it.

She hasn’t locked anything, she’s merely trying to persuade property owners not to rent to ICE. It’s her right to try to persuade them, and it’s their right to ignore her if they want.

Throw intimidation into the mix, and the fact that Boston is acting in cooperation with other cities, and maybe RICO might apply? Threats and intimidation are the stock and trade of criminal enterprises.

Any intimidation is only a vague implication, and thus completely in the eye of the beholder. She’ll deny it and you can’t prove otherwise. RICO requires a conspiracy to commit a crime; here there’s no crime, so no RICO.

BTW, she’s not threatening property owners directly. The city doesn’t have to lift a finger. All it need do is expose the private property owners who are cooperating with ICE and the Left’s street thugs will do the rest.

Exactly, and that’s why there’s nothing to charge her with. Finding out the names is her legal right — the feds have to tell her. And publishing that information is protected speech.

That’s your opinion. I’ve seen action taken along lines you have said were impossible (e.g., the administration says it will strip some naturalized citizens of their citizenship, something that has been done in the past that you claimed was impossible), so I’ll take a wait-and-see posture. I believe what she is doing is actionable. Use of government authority always carries with it an implied (if not an express) threat. Government is force, no matter how “legal” it may be.

“The government is not a natural person. It is an artificial construct based on a monopoly of force in a geographic area.”
      Judge Andrew Napolitano

“Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.”
      George Washington

Exactly where is the line to be crossed when her statements become obstruction of justice?

Mayor Wu cannot pick and choose which laws are to be enforced and which are to be ignored.

One has to wonder if she’ll be made an example of in the near future.

Why do they need private spaces., I wouldn’t be surprised if the feds had sufficient unused buildings etc in those areas, e.g. they could use Otis AB for Boston, Ellington AB for Houston, plus reserve centers in other areas

I think they want parking spaces inside the cities, so they can stage their operations, since the city won’t let them use its property for that.

We are at war. We have been invaded. ICE are agents of a duly elected administration to expell these foreign invaders.

This treasonous anti-american marxist’s language gives aid & comfort to these foreign invaders.

Prosecute this mayor, and all politicos who side with the foreign invaders, and punish for treason. What is the punishment for treason?

We must eliminate with extreme prejudice all these treasonous, anti-american marxist using all the peaceful, legal tools we have at our disposal, or they will eliminate us in a not peaceful, more gruesome manner. They have said so. I take them at their word.

We are at war. We have been invaded. Prosecute and punish these treasonous politicos who side with these foreign invaders.

What is the punishment for treason?

Don’t be silly. There is no treason here, and these governors and mayors are all acting within the law. They just have to be worked around. But Chief has a good idea about how the feds can be assholes right back and hurt these cities and states until they stop their nonsense.

Don’t call me silly. We are at war; we have been invaded and the invaders are still here.
We don’t want them here and we support using peaceful, legal means of extracting them.
What’s silly about that? Nothing, actually.

You are a full blown idiot… they absolutely 100 percent are acting contrary to Federal law… but since you know and understand nothing about the law I guess your vomiting ignorance is to be expected

I up-voted your comment because you agreed with ‘But Chief has a good idea about how the feds can be assholes right back and hurt these cities and states until they stop their nonsense.’

And that was one of my points with ‘Prosecute and punish these treasonous politicos who side with these foreign invaders.’

As Wu has demonstrated with her attempt at deprivation of rights against private property owners in Boston, when you have power you can just DO things – like the feds can be assholes right back, and prosecute her for treason.

Will a judge strike it down, throw it out, and demand the gallows be de-constructed, and Wu returned from GitMo? Sure. Probably.

But the feds should at least make the attempt at assholery – because when you have power you can just DO things.

Yup. Your last sentence is spot on, and SOP for these treasonous anti-american marxists which gives them plausible deniabilty when the violent mobs take to the streets.

Although, it is probably a more difficult endevor to fund without all the money laundered tax dollars USAID once provided.

Naturally. So should every patriotic American, and they should publicly say so. These mayors and governors are acting within the law, but no one should cooperate with them, just as they are not cooperating with the feds. Give them a dose of their own medicine.

There’s nothing to arrest her for. But there’s no need to be nice to her. There are plenty of ways to make her regret it. She’s being an asshole within the law, so be one right back to her. Just be careful that it doesn’t become open retaliation, because that’s illegal. So keep it just below that level, where you have plausible deniability.

I understand law means nothing to liberals but you might want to read title 8 before to take her path.

“An attack on the people of Boston…” Illegals are not the “people of Boston.”
They are the squatters of Boston. Typical Democrap distortion of the truth for suckers.
