U.S. Retaliates Against Iran’s Islamic Guards After Jordan Strike Kills Two Soldiers
CENTCOM: “The strikes are designed to (…) swiftly punish Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces who launched attacks against American service members in Jordan last night.”
The U.S. launched retaliatory overnight strikes against Iran’s Islamic Guard (IRGC) after two American servicemen were killed in an Iranian attack in the Middle East.
On Saturday night, U.S. Central Command announced that, following President Donald Trump’s orders, U.S. “forces began launching new airstrikes against Iran.” Some of these strikes were aimed at “swiftly punish[ing] Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces who launched attacks against American service members in Jordan last night,” CENTCOM wrote on X.

On July 17, two U.S. service members were killed in action, and another was reported missing while operating missile defense systems in Jordan, the U.S. Military said in a statement on Saturday evening.
President Trump mourned the fallen soldiers, saying they sacrificed their lives to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. “They did it because they don’t want to see Iran have a nuclear weapon,” he told The New York Post. “… And it just shows you how bad [the Iranians] are.”

For the eighth consecutive night, the U.S. Military struck Iran after the regime tried to disrupt Strait of Hormuz shipping, ending the ceasefire agreement reached nearly a month ago.
American “forces successfully hit Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities,” CENTCOM disclosed on Saturday night. “American military assets also targeted Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces that launched attacks against U.S. service members in Jordan on July 17.
Revealing the strength of the ongoing operation, CENTCOM said that “[m]ore than 50,000 U.S. men and women in uniform are operating across the Middle East.”
U.S. struck under-construction nuclear site, Iran claims
The regime-run media confirmed U.S. strikes in southern and western Iran. “Iran’s Mehr news agency said the U.S. carried out an attack near Sirik in southern Iran, adding that no casualties or damage to infrastructure have been reported,” Reuters wrote. “The Tasnim news agency said the U.S. military also targeted a location near Shadegan, close to the border with Iraq.”
The strike in the west of the country could have been at an Iranian nuclear site currently under construction. “Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said earlier today that the US attacked an under-construction nuclear power plant site in Khuzestan province, in the country’s southwest,” The Guardian reported Sunday morning.
Iran continued drone and missile attacks on Gulf Arab states. “Iran also has stepped up its threats to further expand the strikes, drawing a warning overnight from the United Arab Emirates,” the Associated Press reported Sunday. “Kuwait and Bahrain again activated air defenses Sunday morning as they warned of incoming Iranian drones and missiles.”

There should be stealth bombers circling Iran. Any IRGC movement would let loose ordinance from above.
It is my understanding, based on information from people far better informed than I am, that the political/religious “leadership” in Iran has exactly zero control over what’s left of their military. While the IRGC may or may not have a chain of command left, they are essentially acting independently of pretty much any level of control, and doing whatever they feel like doing.
I also understand that the IRGC has many, many smaller “headquarters” scattered throughout Iran, including the small navy bases and small groups within pretty much every city (and even smaller towns). This is one of the main reasons that a completely disarmed populace cannot stage an uprising against their government…because there really isn’t one, and the local Islamo-fascists would simply slaughter them in detail.
It is my belief (unfettered by facts) that the current style of warfare has been implemented in order to largely spare the infrastructure of Iran that keeps its people alive, and would keep some form of income coming in once the Islamo-fascist regime ends. The latest strikes appear to indicate that this is ending, and that the Trump administration is now willing to obliterate the general population of Iran in order to get the IRGC to stop its attacks. This is known as “burning down the house to get rid of the cockroaches” approach.
To effect the opening of the Strait of Hormuz the Trump warfare will need to:
– Concentrate on eliminating the “navy” of small craft operated by the IRGC.
– Eliminate all of the harbors, caves, and every other place in which those small craft are based.
– Destroy every single watercraft capable of more than about 15 knots of speed, leaving only the smaller and slower fishing craft intact. Those would be easily defended against if they attempt to use them for suicide attacks. If this means blasting ever speedboat, fast boat, and jet ski on the coast, so be it.
– Located and destroy every missile launching site within range of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman to ensure that Iran cannot use land-based missiles to attack shipping.
This won’t win the war or destroy the IRGC, but it would be a start.

IRGC has spent decades building a decentralized, redundant and resilient structure designed for the very situation that we see currently. They own large swathes of the country. And while they are not the “religious leadership” per se, they still are committed fanatics, motivated by the apocalyptic death cult ideology, so they cannot “make a deal.” They would rather die than be seen coexisting with the infidel. Our left believes that “Death to America” is just for show, that Iran shares their socialist agenda and they are brothers at heart, a belief that Iran sees as useful. America divided suits them just fine.
Too bad nobody told Trump about all this. Four and a half months later, this venture has no end in sight, except that Trump will be hounded mercilessly. His term will effectively be over Wednesday morning after election day. Will the country survive? Will it be time to put down the quill and pick up the sword?
We were discussing the WWII atomic bomb hits. Germany surrendered before we dropped the atomic bombs. Japan did not want to surrender – and in a way, it made sense: They believed their emperor was a descendent of God. The Japanese had been attacking/raiding/invading Chinese and other SE Asia for minerals, oil, etc.beginning in 1931.
By the time Germany had surrendered, the Japanese still continued fighting. FDR and probably Truman plus top military brass saw two options:
1 – Invade Japan starting with their southern islands on to Tokyo;
– estimated Allie deaths: a minimum of 200,000-several million for Allies – civilian casualties from millions to 10s of millions of deaths.
2 – Drop the bomb
President Truman warned the Japanese by dropping pamphlets before both A-bombs were dropped. Life requirements would also be destroyed.
What was the lesser of two evils?
Will the US and allies (who are not helping much) have to make this kind of decision regarding Iran? Americans already have had multiple experiences of walking away and watching the bad guys take over. DJT has negotiated for months and all Iran does is kill more people, build more missiles. Very tough decision because the Iranians have no way to defend themselves.
I’ve been talking about going after the revolutionary guard itself for months now. According to this report they’ve finally done that. Good. Do more of that. Use the loitering reaper drones. Every time a small concentration of guard is found drop a hellfire on them. Either that or track them back to their HQ and blow that up. Keep up the pressure on the rank and file guard until their nerve breaks.
On other news it seems Khamenei Jr got tired of being a target while getting dictated to by the head of the revolutionary guard and has flown the coop, Where to I have no idea but I would guess France.
