Michigan Investigation Into Football Coach Tops $12MThe University of Michigan has spent over $12 million for a third-party investigation into the events that led to the firing of the school’s former head football coach and the culture of the athletic department, The Detroit Free Press reported.Most recently, the public university paid Jenner & Block, a private law firm hired in late 2025, nearly $200,000 for professional services through May 31, according to invoices the Free Press obtained through the Michigan Freedom of Information Act. That brings UM’s tab for the investigation to over $12 million.According to the firm’s report, UM overlooked warning signs before firing Sherrone Moore for an affair with his executive assistant, Paige Shiver.
