Trump Drops Shipping Transit Fee, Says Hormuz Strait ‘Open to All Except Iran’

A day after ordering a blockage of Iranian ports, President Donald Trump has assured that the Strait of Hormuz is open for international shipping except Iranian vessels.
The U.S. military has restored maritime trade in the waterway, President Trump said. “Oil is flowing like never before, thanks to the awesome Power of the United States Military,” he acknowledged on Truth Social.
The president was dropping his previous proposal to charge commercial ships a 20% transit fee, opting instead for a “massive” investment deal with Arab Gulf states. “Based on highly productive conversations with Middle East leadership, I have decided to replace the 20% United States Reimbursement Fee with Trade and Investment Deals that the various Gulf States will be making into the United States,” he added.

Responding to Iranian aggression in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. carried out a third consecutive night of strikes against the Islamic Guard and military targets. The operation is aimed at destroying the regime’s naval capabilities to threaten the Hormuz Strait.
“During the five-hour mission, U.S. forces successfully struck military targets across Iran including Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas to further degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping,” CENTCOM revealed.
U.S. “forces employed precision munitions against Iranian coastal defense systems, missile and drone sites, and maritime capabilities,” the statement continued.

The U.S. military made history by using kamikaze drone boats for the first time in a combat operation. Multiple sea drones were used to target a naval and submarine base in southern Iran. This is “the first time American forces have employed sea drones in combat operations,” CENTCOM disclosed.

Well some reading revealed to me that we do get some oil through the strait, Also that global oil prices affect domestic ones so that it is in our interest for free and unencumbered transit through the strait to be maintained, Nevertheless it galls me that a lot of countries especially Europe (AGAIN) and China are riding on our coat tails. We pay to keep the strait open and they benefit without incurring a cost. Grrrrr
And all those nations, and the world itself, benefits because President Trump, and Israel, took decisive action to end Iran’s nuclear capabilities. The cost of additional military expenditures was something the president tried to avoid, until the cost of avoidance was made too high by Iran. Maybe give him some credit?
