Students for a Democratic Society in Denver Vows to ‘Smash’ Turning Point USA
“We will not be silent, and we will not tolerate the presence of TPUSA on our campus.”
These are the people who have “coexist” bumper stickers on their cars. They have no intention of peacefully coexisting.
Campus Reform reports:
Denver SDS says TPUSA ‘needs to be smashed’ amid university investigation
Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) at Metropolitan State University of Denver has released a statement pledging to “fight against” Turning Point USA, which it calls a “far-right white nationalist organization.”
The student organization, which is officially recognized by MSU Denver, says it is under investigation in connection with an April protest against TPUSA.
The statement argues that the group has a right to protest TPUSA on campus.
“Denver SDS reaffirms our commitment to fight against TPUSA wherever they turn up,” the organization says in its July 8 Instagram post. “We have done nothing wrong. TPUSA is a far-right white nationalist organization that needs to be smashed at every campus they turn up at.”
“We see the conduct investigation from MSU as nothing more than an attempt to scare us away from exercising our right to free speech on campus,” the organization continues. “If TPUSA has the right to table on campus, then SDS has the right to protest their vile, racist, dangerous rhetoric.”
“Part of fighting Trump’s agenda is fighting against well-funded far-right groups like TPUSA,” it adds. “We will not be silent, and we will not tolerate the presence of TPUSA on our campus.”
The group previously posted a video of its protest in which its members chanted: “racist, sexist, anti-gay, Turning Point, go away.”
The university has not publicly announced the investigation, nor has it specified what prompted it. No news outlets reported the protest.
The university’s Student Organization Officer Handbook states that registered organizations have freedom of speech and the right to peaceful assembly, including the right to “present dissenting views” and demonstrate against political issues.
However, such activities must be “held in an orderly manner” and “not disrupt the institutional mission or university/campus functions and operations.”

Smashing doesn’t sound peaceful to me.
“Your speech is violence. Our violence is speech.” Make no mistake, the Left is the enemy of civilization.
Ignorant hoodlums, the best of The Left.
It sounds like they’re plagiarizing Mao.
Sounds like a good time to revisit campus gun bans.
(Well, anytime is a good time, but now would be especially fruitful.)
It would appear that the meaning of “protest” has become “to interfere with other people’s rights”
True “Smash the Four Olds,” old customs, culture, habits, and ideas hasn’t been tried.
SDS has always been a loser organization. It is no different now. Ignore them.
Impossible to ignore them if they are “in your face”. Returning the same behavior is appropriate.
