“Climate Action Fellowship program”

Once again, this has nothing to do with the pursuit of knowledge. It’s just left-wing activism dressed up as academics.

Campus Reform reports:

SF State offers students up to $10,000 for climate justice projects

San Francisco State University is offering students up to $10,000 through its Climate Action Fellowship program, which funds projects focused on climate change and climate justice.

The university’s Climate HQ initiative states that its Climate Action Fellowship supports student research, scholarship, creative activities, and outreach projects related to climate issues. The fellowship description says that projects may take place either on or off campus and are intended to help students engage with climate-related challenges facing local communities.

For the 2025-26 academic year, Climate HQ advertised two Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ) Climate Action Fellowships. The fellowship posting describes how participating students may work on projects involving native plant nursery restoration, youth environmental education, virtual field trips, and oyster restoration efforts in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The fellowship program highlights previous student projects focused on addressing climate change and developing a “Climate Justice Curriculum” for K-12 students. Climate HQ materials state that fellows receive financial support while completing climate-related projects and participating in professional development opportunities.

University materials reviewed by Campus Reform do not identify any one outside grantor responsible for funding fellowship stipends. However, SF State says donations to Climate HQ, the Climate HQ Scholarship Fund, and the Climate HQ Endowment Fund help support climate-related programming. The university says donations to those funds expand student access to climate-focused courses, internships, research opportunities, and workforce preparation initiatives.

A separate SF State initiative appears to use a similar funding model. In January, the university announced that 50 students could receive up to $10,000 to support projects addressing K-12 education, climate action, and food insecurity in local communities. The announcement does not state that all of those awards are Climate Action Fellowships, but it suggests the university has established multiple grant programs providing substantial funding for student-led community projects.
