Newly Released Fauci Diary Exposes a Major Deception … and a Striking Obsession

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s relentless campaign to prove that former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci misled the public throughout the COVID pandemic made him Fauci’s greatest nemesis.

Although more than six years have passed since the deadly virus reached U.S. shores, most Americans still remember Fauci’s daily briefings and seemingly nonstop appearances on cable news. He quickly emerged as the “face” of the pandemic.

After years of digging, Paul may have finally found what he’s been looking for. His latest release of pandemic-related documents included portions of Fauci’s COVID diary from the earliest days of the crisis. Paul claims, “What he wrote privately and what he told the country are two different stories.”

In a nine-part thread on X, Paul highlighted the most relevant entries. The first, dated January 26, 2020, exposed a serious disconnect between what the director actually believed — that the virus did not originate from the wet market — and what he was leading the public to believe.

Paul wrote: “Fauci writes in his diary: ‘Now we know the market was not the source, it was the amplifier.’ That is January of 2020. The wet market was already off the table in his own private notes.”

[It’s worth noting that Fauci still appears to believe the virus had “jumped from animals to humans.” He simply didn’t know how.]

Here is the relevant portion of Fauci’s January 26, 2020, entry: [Emphasis added.]

It now appears using epi data and genomic data that the first infection was in early December and was not connected to the market. The infections spread among people weeks before the Chinese reported that they were dealing with a new infection and that gave the virus time to establish itself in multigenerational (sustained) spread Remember, early on the Chinese were saying that there is no human to human transmission and all the original 27 cases were from the market. Now we know the market was not the source, it was the amplifier. Having said that, somewhere the virus jumped from animals to humans.

Less than a week later, on a now-infamous call with 12 prominent virologists, only two had “concluded it was natural.”

Fauci wrote: “The rest felt that deliberate insertion was possible.”

In other words, 10 of the 12 virologists, or 83.33%, believed the virus may have been genetically engineered.

[Note: According to the National Institutes of Health, deliberate insertion “refers to the intentional, man-made addition of specific genetic material, mutations, or molecular features into a viral genome using laboratory biotechnology.” It is a direct form of genetic engineering.]

Yet anyone who publicly suggested that the virus may have resulted from gain-of-function research or leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology was derided as a conspiracy theorist and, incredibly, even called a racist.

Paul continued to reveal in painstaking detail the disconnect between the truth and the narrative that Fauci and his minions were presenting to the public. I recommend reading the whole thread.

Additionally, the diary exposes Fauci’s preoccupation — and utter delight — with his growing celebrity. After reporting the current COVID death toll in a May 21, 2020, entry, he launched into discussion of his “explosive” new “national and international fame.” [Emphasis added.]

Big front page article abut me appeared in the Washington Post. Very flattering. The situation with my national and international fame is explosive and really unimaginable. It is not hyperbole to say that today I am the most famous and talked about person in the country and one of the most recognizable [people] in the world. Countless profiles on me in multiple media. I cannot even read all the things that are written ab[ou]t me since I am so busy….seriously. POTUS seems to be enamored of me even though I am taking the spotlight away from him. We are developing a very unique and interesting relationship. The entire secret service corps is coming over to me and chatting. They let me into the first gate without even checking ID. Everyone is worried about my health and welfare, probably because it is all over the place that I am almost 80 years old.

Fauci is scheduled to testify before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday, where he will be pressed for answers on some of the newly released information. In an appearance on Fox Business News last week, Paul said he “will make sure Fauci answers for his dangerous decisions and the consequences they had for millions.”

Still, anyone hoping that Fauci will face justice for any of his deeds will likely be disappointed. On his last day in office, former President Joe Biden issued Fauci a full, unconditional, preemptive federal pardon. But it will be fun to watch him squirm as he explains the latest batch of documents.
