Bill Maher Says His 2028 Vote is ‘In Play’: ‘I’m Not Living in Communist America’
“I’ve read the quotes from the DSA platform from their own mouths. Don’t tell me I’m not seeing what I am seeing”
Bill Maher sat for an interview with Jon Karl of ABC News this weekend and made it clear that he is not down with the DSA shift in the Democratic Party. He adamantly insisted that the DSA is pushing for communism, citing their own words and platform.
He also said that he does not accept the ‘intifada’ that they are also constantly pushing. He even indicated a willingness to vote for JD Vance in 2028 if this continues.
Maher came off as more informed than most people in our media and even than Democrats in elected office. He sees what is happening here.
This is the intifada clip:
JONATHAN KARL: And you pushed JD Vance on this and he did not…
BILL MAHER: No, that’s what I love about those Republicans. The first thing I said to him was, “It’s so odd, isn’t it, that like I didn’t vote for you, and yet you guys come to the show, and take your beating like a man. The Democrats don’t come, and yet they got my vote.” It’s just odd, isn’t it.
KARL: Yeah, why is that? So what is that all about? I mean, by the way, you get some Democrats.
MAHER: Democrats are are cowardly. Yeah, they’re cowardly. Their party is being taken over now. By you know, every day I hear about a new, very radical. I feel very good about like 10 whenever years ago, like I did lose fans because you know I wasn’t going to go along with some of this crazy stuff on the left too. I didn’t change really on what I thought about the right, but just I can’t sit and just not notice stuff, which people seem to want to do because it’s all about my team or your team. But yeah, there’s some crazy stuff, you know. When we’re cheering for the Intifada, God, I’m out.

Maher knows communism when he sees it. Also, Karl tries to make Maher disagree by noting that Trump says the same regarding the DSA platform:
KARL: You told JD Vance you’re open. Your vote is up for grabs.
MAHER: Yes, my vote is in play because it can’t be Trump running. So I’m not living in communist America. I mean I know that the talking point is that it’s not communism. It’s socialism.
Okay, I’ve read the quotes from the DSA platform from their own mouths. Don’t tell me I’m not seeing what I am seeing. And DSA again, they they say things like you know takeover of key industries, government. That’s communism. You know there is a definition.
KARL: By the way, Trump is saying that, too.
MAHER: Of course, yes.
KARL: And — and — and to a degree that we haven’t seen any other president, Democrat or Republican, do.
MAHER: Great. That’s crazy, too.
KARL: He’s got a piece of Intel and a piece of the AI company.
MAHER: He treats everything like it’s a real estate deal, or or I don’t know, he’s an agent or something. He always 10% or 15%.
KARL: So you want to see the Democrats win in the midterm.
MAHER: Absolutely, and they will because it will still be a referendum on Trump.
So I think the Democrats will do very well in the midterms. 2028 is a different story because by then this wing of the party, this new wing with all the energy, and it’s not just a few people anymore. I read every day, I read about a new person in some Colorado and Wisconsin, somebody who is saying some variation of not defund the police, abolish the police, no prisons, no police. Like, what world do they think we could possibly live in under these conditions? It’s just a level of nutty that I’m so glad that whenever it was, I was like, no, I’m not going along because this is where it ends.
KARL: Could you see yourself voting for JD Vance?
MAHER: Yes. I this is the Democratic side, yes.
Bill Maher explains how his 2028 vote is "in play":

I have to believe there are millions of liberals out there nodding along with Maher on this.
The DSA does not want to debate policy. They want to tear this country down and rebuild it as something else, and it’s scary.

Just what we need, more RINOs.
Wait, . . . Breaking News, . . . there are socialists and communists in the Dem party?? Who knew?? Thanks, Bill!!
Oh, . . . one more ask, Bill . . . who won the 1958 World Series??
“How do you do, fellow conservatives?”
If Mahar votes anything other than blue, I’ll eat my hat.
He can only mean that he’ll abstain from voting, that’s all.
Call me cynical if you’d like.
“It’s so odd, isn’t it, that like I didn’t vote for you, and yet you guys come to the show, and take your beating like a man. The Democrats don’t come, and yet they got my vote.” It’s just odd, isn’t it.”
Sounds like a YOU PROBLEM, Bill, and nobody else’s.
Conservatives look at Maher like someone who might speak truth to liberals and get them off the kool aid.
He won’t.
The AWFULs and old ladies who get their news from MSM will not change until liberalism murders their own family. Even then, it’s a maybe.
He’s lying.
He has never, and WILL NEVER, vote anything but straight ticket Democrat.
I am so utterly sick of conservatives breathlessly quoting Maher and act like he ‘talks sense’.
No, what he does is tell leftists to stop talking about things that make it harder to get elected. He wants them to stop talking, get elected, and just do it.
He is a committed leftist and always will be, he’s just SMARTER about it.
“Democrats are are cowardly. Yeah, they’re cowardly” And those ‘nodding liberals’ are cowards too. Long gone are the anti communist cold war liberals. They are scared of their base with some reason to be.
KARL: So you want to see the Democrats win in the midterm.
MAHER: Absolutely, and they will because it will still be a referendum on Trump.
What an idiot
What shift? Any shift happened 60 years ago when the great society was implemented. One can argue it happened when FDR’s domestic policies were enacted including social security. There have been DSA members in the democratic party including elected officials for years. They are just overt now. No need it hide it anymore.
Oh? He doesn’t want to live in a communist america? Does he realize that’s what he’s been voting for for decades?
No.
He’s the quintessential example of a guy who gets screwed by communism and moves to a red state for protection. Then votes for the same stuff he always has because he cannot mentally make the connection that HE is the cause of the effect.
Bill Maher looked out the window, saw a street light pole with his name on it, and decided that he didn’t want it to be his final resting place. The funny thing with turncoats is that they always end up on the pole, and the only open question is which side puts them there. The fair weather people do serve a purpose, as they are reliable indicators of how the wind is blowing. But by not being anchored, a wind from any direction will eventually knock them over.
Would he vote for Rubio?
Maher’s comment that his vote is “in play” is merely a rhetorical tool he is using to make his point that the current left wing of this Demoncrat Party is too far left even for him.
Imus and Charles McCord used to babysit young Maher at NBC where Maher’s dad was a news editor, and hook him up with NBC page girls.

Aw. Watched the clip, and it clearly is a joke, not really true at all.
“We used to give him drugs, cigarettes, whisky, and hook him up with NBC pages.”
It’s an often-repeated story. The part about Maher’s dad being their news editor is likely to be true, and encounters with young Maher likewise likely to have happened. Then the Imus perverse amusements were likely to have taken over.
Actually that’s the definition of socialism. Government ownership of the means of production.
