VA Gov. Abigail Spanberger Chooses Activist Who Fought Girls’ Bathroom Protections for State Board

VA Gov. Abigail Spanberger Chooses Activist Who Fought Girls’ Bathroom Protections for State Board

“also opposed Virginia legislation that would require schools to notify parents when a student identifies as transgender”

Governor Abigail Spanberger of Virginia has chosen an LGBT activist who fought protections for girls’ bathrooms to sit on a state board that influences related policies.

Do you recall how Spanberger dodged and weaved every time she was asked about this topic during the campaign? Now we know why.

FOX News reports:

Spanberger taps LGBTQ activist who fought girls’ bathroom protections for state board

Virginia Democratic Gov. Abigail Spanberger appointed an LGBTQ activist who pushed back against efforts to bar biological males from girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms to a state advisory board that helps shape recommendations on LGBTQ-related policies.

Spanberger’s appointment of Kellen MacBeth on May 22, who previously led the LGBTQ nonprofit Equality Arlington, follows a gubernatorial campaign during which she ran as a moderate and sidestepped questions about transgender participation in women’s sports and access to female-only spaces.

MacBeth, the founder of Equality Arlington, has become one of Northern Virginia’s most visible LGBTQ advocates. Under his leadership, Equality Arlington has urged Virginia school districts to implement policies allowing transgender students to use bathrooms that align with their “gender identity” and has encouraged local governments to resist efforts to reverse those protections. The organization also advocated for preserving transgender-inclusive policies in Arlington Public Schools despite federal pressure to change them.

MacBeth has also opposed Virginia legislation that would require schools to notify parents when a student identifies as transgender or permit parents to exempt their children from classroom instruction involving LGBTQ-related topics.

As I and others have said before, Democrats do not care that the 2024 election showed that the public rejected all of this. They are just going to do what they want to do.

Newsmax has more details:

The LGBTQ+ board, established under former Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam, advises the governor on economic, educational, and health matters affecting gay and transgender Virginians and submits annual reports to the General Assembly.

By statute, at least 15 of its 21 nonlegislative citizen members must identify as LGBTQ+.

As Equality Arlington’s president, MacBeth has been a sustained public voice against Trump administration policies on transgender students.

In a February 2025 letter to Arlington Public Schools, MacBeth thanked the district for “steadfast support” of transgender students and urged officials to “stand up for the rights of transgender athletes” in the face of a federal civil rights investigation and three Trump executive orders limiting gender-identity-based policies in schools and federal programs.

The letter argued that Title IX, as interpreted by the 4th Circuit, protects students’ ability to play on teams that align with their gender identity.

Spanberger’s campaign was a massive bat and switch.

She played it down the middle but she is no different than the progressive loons of Loudoun County.

VA voted for this, only they can fix it.

They are best positioned to fix it by holding their leaders accountable, though the DoJ Civil Rights Div and the Dept ED may also have something to say about the way policies are implemented.

Our un-American government school system will always be used as a weapon. It cannot be reformed because it is intrinsically evil.

Get the children out.

Run as a middle politician then show your Culture Marxism,.
But next election see they are in middle.

Well Virginia you got her, live with it.

She hired Lady MacBeth?

😆😆😆😆

Meanwhile, Republicans pee their pants because “midterms..,”

RINO buttholes have been instructed by their WEF masters to keep the supermajority filibuster alive until democraps have the power to discard it.

This kind of thing is to be expected. The left takes care of their own. And that means (among other things) doling out cushy government jobs to each other. Competence, even ideology is less important to them than the financial benefits they provide to each other.

These Democrats stick together.

Frau Spanberger is a trans clone of her landsman Heydrich.
Not just in appearances

The Dem socialists and the NAACP joined forces AGAINST an eminently qualified black conservative, demonstrating that Marxism trumps (my apologies) any professed concern for blacks.

I hope blacks are seeing how quickly they are pushed aside for more “important” issues by the Dem socialists.

Not having great hopes. They’re oblivious to the DNC fighting to keep slavery alive in the War Between The States, founding the KKK, and now robbing taxpayers to keep them on the democrap plantation via handouts. (Aka extorted bribery). “Gives us our free stuff, and we’s vote for youse.”

Let NJ stew in the brew they voted for.

Wrong AWFL though many of them have a homogenized presentation of conformity so it can be easy to confuse them. Gov. Sherrill is Gov of NJ, Spanberger is Gov of VA.
