Jewish LGBT Democrat Vying for Pelosi’s Seat Run Out of Trans March Over Israel Stance

It goes without saying that, in blue cities like San Francisco and New York, it’s pretty much a requirement for any Democrat running for office to be unwaveringly pro-LGBTQ legislation. Gay Democrat Scott Wiener, a California state senator, certainly fits that bill.
Perhaps more than any other elected official in this country, Wiener is exactly the type of pro-LGBTQ lawmaker conservatives warn about. For instance, he championed legislation in 2017 that decriminalized knowingly exposing someone to HIV without telling them about it – which included blood banks.
He also added an amendment to a 2023 family law/gender identity bill that, had it gone into effect, conceivably could have caused parents to be subjected to child abuse charges if they refused to affirm the “gender identity” of their child. Amazing, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) vetoed the bill.
During the 2022 monkeypox outbreak, Wiener actually encouraged gay orgies at bathhouses in part to reduce what he believed was the stigma surrounding the fact that monkeypox was primarily spreading through the gay male community:

He also once “joked” about mandating the teaching of “Drag Queen 101” to kids in K-12 public schools in the Golden State:

But, as we’ve recently learned, Wiener has one big flaw as far as LGBTQ activists are concerned: He’s Jewish, and has been reluctant to condemn Israel during the course of the Israel-Hamas war. For that, Wiener has officially fallen out of favor with the pro-Palestinian types in the movement to the extent he is now being marched out of trans pride gatherings in San Francisco (language warning):
But late Friday afternoon, as Mr. Wiener was on his way to a Pride Shabbat service led by a trans rabbi, he was run out of San Francisco’s annual Trans March by protesters accusing him of endorsing genocide in Gaza.
A man named Dimitry Yakoushkin filmed Mr. Wiener, castigating him for being “terrible on Gaza,” the video Mr. Yakoushkin later posted to social media shows. A half-dozen or so other people follow along, yelling a steady stream of invective at Mr. Wiener, profanely accusing him of being “genocidal” and having “Zionist handlers.” One waves a middle finger in his face.
“You do not belong here anymore, Scott,” Mr. Yakoushkin shouted. “I want to support someone who’s so positive on trans rights, but you’re a piece of sh** on Gaza.”

In response to the video, former L.A. mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt observed that “Every communist revolutionary thinks they’ll have a seat at the table of power…in reality, they’re always the first against the wall.”

Wiener will be taking on San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan (D) in the fall election to see who will become Nancy Pelosi’s successor in the 11th congressional district. Pelosi has endorsed Chan. Sen. Adam Schiff (D) also supports Chan’s candidacy.
Wiener has the support of union groups and some high-profile Democrats in the state, such as Attorney General Rob Bonta and State Treasurer Fiona Ma, who is also running for Lt. Gov. It remains to be seen to what extent, if any, the Israel-Hamas war issue will impact Wiener’s campaign on Election Day. Stay tuned.

Wiener’s humiliation should serve as an object lesson to everyone who moans about RINOs here and elsewhere. The Republican party should not sponsor an overly large and complete purity test for inclusion. People are going to differ in their opinions. That should be allowed and on fact encouraged. There are a few rock bottom principals that everyone belonging to the party should adhere to. Beyond that disagreement and discussion should be tolerated. If not your as bad as the progressives and might find yourself kicked from the group yourself ala Wierner.

There is a difference between democrats claiming to be republicans and RINOs. The two parties have very real differences with respect to their basic premises.
