As the conflict reached its 100th day, Iran fired a barrage of ballistic missiles and drones at Kuwait and Bahrain. The regime’s military-terrorist arm, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), also attacked oil tankers approaching the Strait of Hormuz.
“Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had attacked U.S. bases in Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for U.S. strikes and fired at four tankers trying to cross the strait without its permission,” Reuters reported Saturday.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) targeted Iranian air defense systems in retaliatory strikes. “U.S. forces struck Iranian coastal radar sites on Saturday after shooting down drones launched by Iran toward the Strait of Hormuz,” the news agency added.
Ahead of the latest round of Iranian escalation, President Donald Trump asserted that the regime’s missile stockpile, which includes ballistic missiles capable of reaching European cities, has largely been destroyed.
Tehran lost all but 20 percent of its pre-war missile stockpile, he told NBC News on Friday:
Trump [said] that so far in the conflict, the U.S. has “totally destroyed their military,” but added that Iran still does have some missiles and drones.“Most of the drone factories have been knocked out, most of the launching pads have been knocked out, and most of the missile manufacturing areas have been knocked out. But they still have capacity. They have some missiles, they have some drones,” he said. “I would say percentagewise, maybe 21%-22% of their missiles. It’s a lot of missiles, but it’s not what it was when we first attacked.”
On February 28, 2026, the U.S. and Israel launched a joint military operation following months of mass killing of pro-democracy demonstrators. The Mullah regime was pushing ahead with a nuclear weapons and long-range missile program. In the opening strike, the Israeli air force eliminated Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several top military commanders.
The strikes continued for 37 more days, with U.S. and Israeli forces decimating Iran’s senior regime and military leadership. In quick succession, several of Ali Khamenei’s de facto successors were neutralized, paving the way for his son Mojtaba Khamenei to claim the top job. Since his appointment, Khamenei Jr. hasn’t spoken or shown his face in public, raising questions about his mental and physical state.
“The mission of Operation Epic Fury is laser-focused: Destroy Iranian offensive missiles, destroy Iranian missile production, destroy their navy and other security infrastructure – and they will never have nuclear weapons,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth declared.
The regime’s nuclear program suffered devastating blows with strikes hitting targets ranging from uranium mining sites to nuclear enrichment facilities. Iran’s air defense system was virtually taken offline as Israeli and U.S. fighter jets struck targets across the country.
On March 2, Hezbollah unleashed rockets and drones at Israel, dragging Lebanon into the war. Israel responded with an aerial and ground operation to flush the terrorist group from southern Lebanon.
The most dramatic moment of the war came in early April when two pilots went missing after the Iranians shot down their F-15. Both crew members were recovered in two separate daring rescue operations.
Despite devastating blows to its leadership and arsenal during the operation Epic Fury, Tehran retains an aggressive posture.
Near-daily attacks from Iran are jeopardizing a fragile ceasefire. After announcing a two-week ceasefire in early April, President Trump extended it indefinitely until a deal was reached. Iran has repeatedly violated this 58-day-old truce by launching deadly airstrikes against neighboring Arab states and targeting commercial shipping.
Iran’s greatest terrorist asset, Lebanon-based Hezbollah, has adopted the same tactic. On Friday, the terrorist group rejected a U.S.-brokered truce between Israel and Lebanon that called for Hezbollah to stop targeting Israeli troops and civilians. “The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah has emphatically rejected the terms of a US-backed ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon,” the BBC reported. “It comes after Israel and Lebanon announced a renewal of their fragile ceasefire with the creation of ‘pilot’ security zones inside Lebanon in which Hezbollah operatives would be banned.”
