West Virginia Governor Plans Trip to Virginia to Convince Businesses to Move

West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey has planned a visit to Virginia to convince businesses and workers to relocate in the wake of Democrats wreaking havoc on Virginia’s economy.
Morrisey will point out his state has “lower taxes and fewer regulations,” according to Fox News:
“We’re going to be spending some time in Loudoun County and all across Virginia on making the pitch and the comparison of the direction that West Virginia is moving in [and] the direction Virginia is going in,” Morrisey told Fox News Digital on the sidelines of the announcement of a new 275-acre commercial tax district he said will bring $200 million in economic investment to the three-county Eastern Panhandle region.
“The backyard brawl for our state’s future is being won both at the kitchen table and in the marketplace,” Morrisey said, noting that the Tabler Station project he unveiled is just one of many similar plans-in-action around the state.
The area is home to West Virginia’s nationally-prevalent apple industry — to the point the local high school team is the “Musselman Applemen.” The area also boasts major industrial plants including a major Clorox facility that is advertising job openings to passersby on Interstate 81.

West Virginia also has one of the lowest costs of living in the country.
It’s also business friendly:
- Unemployment rate (May 2025): 3.8%
- Top corporate tax rate: 6.5%
- Top individual income tax rate: 4.82%
In 2025, Morrisey announced his “Grow West Virginia” initiative to attract businesses to open in his state:
As one of the first steps of Governor Morrisey’s plan to grow jobs, he announced the formation of the West Virginia Jobs Initiative with $50 million to be used as targeted investments that fit into the state’s overall economic development plans.
Mettler Packaging was chosen as the first investment of the West Virginia Jobs Initiative with a $400,000 targeted investment in their Moorefield facility, which will retain 120 current jobs and add up to 50 new jobs.
Morissey also wants to slash taxes and make it easier for businesses to obtain permits.
Amazon opened a distribution facility in southern West Virginia in April with wages starting at $19 per hour.
The facility created hundreds of jobs and quicker service for customers.

Perhaps, West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey should signon to the Marc Elias idea of overturning the state of Virginia and having old Virginia reunite with West Virginia run out of Charleston

Perhaps instead of convincing residents to move the WV governor could convince the Virgina government to move, say to China or Cuba or Russia.
You’d have to send most of the population of a couple NOVA Counties with them or any relief would be temporary b/c the goofy globalist/corporatist class who live there would continue to vote for Cray Cray.
