Tulsi Gabbard Resigns as Director of National Intelligence

Tulsi Gabbard has resigned as Director of National Intelligence, according to Fox News.

The outlet reported Gabbard wants to support her husband, who was diagnosed with “an extremely rare form of bone cancer.” How awful:
Gabbard notified President Trump during a meeting in the Oval Office Friday. Her last day at ODNI is expected to be June 30.
Fox News Digital exclusively obtained her formal resignation letter, in which Gabbard says she is “deeply grateful for the trust you placed in me and for the opportunity to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence for the last year and a half.”
“Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026,” she wrote. “My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.”
Gabbard said her husband “faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months.”
“At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle,” she said.
Gabbard added: “Abraham has been my rock throughout our eleven years of marriage — standing steadfast through my deployment to East Africa on a Joint Special Operations mission, multiple political campaigns and now my service in this role.”
“His strength and love have sustained me through every challenge,” she continued. “I cannot in good conscience ask him to face this fight alone while I continue in this demanding and time-consuming position.”

Same….and I was one of the lucky ones who beat it.
This seems like a legit resignation as opposed to a force out.
I’ve apparently beat one, and am four years clean on a particularly aggressive one.
I pray for her and her husband.
And for us, I think this is a big loss for the country.

I will pray for her and her family. Any form of cancer is horrible, but bone cancers are particularly harrowing. Oh, my.
Tulsi often fascinated me during my 20+ years of being a political volunteer. Why she WAS a D, well, finally I understood. She found the light.
We Americans are so fortunate to have someone with her integrity and devotion in a position that’s filled with those who want to destroy us. She was doing excellent work that needed to be done.
Tulsi was and still is an extraordinary person. She will be missed – hopefully Trump can find someone as capable and dedicated as she to fill her shoes.
Tulsi, major prayers for both of you. Abraham’s diagnosis is a tough one. My both of you experience as little pain as possible.

Cancer suxx. I hope treatment goes well. Joe Biden has had stage 4 cancer that metastasized in his body for years now and he seems to be managing well.
BTW, did y’all know that 8 days ago the CIA did not raid DNI Tulsi Gabbard’s office, and did not confiscate numerous files about the JFK assassination, and did not confiscate files about the CIA’s secret MKUltra mind control program which Gabbard was working to de-classify per Trump’s EO?

Tulsi Gabbard was one of the few in DC willing to call balls and strikes as she saw them without partisanship skewing it. We may not have always agreed with her while she was in Congress but she was very much an asset to the Trump 2.0 admin as the DNI. Didn’t seek out cameras to pose in front of or try to serve any parallel personal agenda, just put her nose to the grindstone and got about doing the mission at hand. She will absolutely be missed.
“To spend time with my family” is a running joke, but it’s tragic when it’s legitimate like this.
That sucks. Esophageal CA here. Even beating it, everything is worse. But still on this side of the grass.
