Trump Says Ceasefire on “Massive Life Support” as Iran Rejects U.S. Proposal
President Trump: “I have a plan. Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon.”
The ceasefire with Iran is on “massive life support,” President Donald Trump said on Monday after Tehran rejected the latest U.S. proposal.
Asked about the state of the month-old truce by reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump said that it was “unbelievably weak, I would say. I would call it the weakest right now.”
“I would say the ceasefire is on massive life support, where the doctor walks in and says, ‘Sir, your loved one has approximately a 1% chance of living,’” he continued.
President Trump said Monday that the ceasefire with Iran is on "life support" after the "garbage" response Iran sent the U.S.

The Iranian rejection comes in response to last week’s 14-point plan to restore shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and set up a framework for dismantling the nuclear weapons program.
Instead of reacting to the U.S. proposal, Tehran made a counter-proposal. The president called it a “piece of garbage” that he “didn’t even finish reading.”
President Trump said that Iran had agreed to hand over its stockpile of weapons-grade uranium during the negotiations, but had reneged on the promise in its formal response. “They changed their mind because they didn’t put it in the paper,” he said.
On Sunday, Trump rejected Iran’s counteroffer as “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!”
“I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives.’ I don’t like it,” he posted on Truth Social

Axios: Trump weighing “military action” against Iran
President Trump assured that the Mullah regime won’t be allowed to acquire a nuclear arsenal. “I have a plan,” he said, “Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon.”
The White House is reportedly considering the resumption of military strikes following Iran’s response. “President Trump is meeting with his national security team Monday to discuss the way forward in the Iran war, including possibly resuming military action, after negotiations with the country deadlocked on Sunday, three U.S. officials said,” Axios reported.
“Vice President Vance, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Rubio, Secretary of Defense Hegseth, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, CIA director John Ratcliffe and other senior officials are expected to participate in the Iran meeting on Monday, U.S. officials say,” the news website added.

Oh goodie, escalation in a war that was supposed to be over in a week. When do the Iranian people rise up, overthrow the government and magically become a democracy? Like Iraq and Afghanistan and Libya and Syria etc etc.
Trump sold out his core and cannot be forgiven for this debacle.
They don’t have to become a democracy. They just have to get rid of the theocracy.
Trump said “No new wars.” This is not a new war, it’s going on 50 years old. If Trump manages to conclude it successfully for the US, will you praise him? Somehow I doubt it. If he fails you will condemn him, while I will say “At least he tried, which is more than several presidents before him did.”
BTW, not warring isn’t “America First.” “America First” is about doing what is right for America. Sometimes that means avoiding war. Sometimes that means fighting one. Whether a particular response, either way, is “America First” is debatable, but just labeling a war as violative of “America First” principles (as some have done) doesn’t make it so.
Define success? Like Iraq? Like Afghanistan? How long do you give it and how much do you spend?
Iran was and is no threat to the United States. Now, in addition to another useless war, we have a reversal in the inflation trend and zero progress on cutting Federal spending. In fact, the deficit is likely to widen.
Trump hasn’t even succeeded in Gaza as the last time I checked his “Board of Peace” hasn’t even got Hamas to disarm let along converted Gaza into the promised utopian paradise where everyone is happy, happy, joy, joy and living with unicorn flatulence and rainbows.
Hamas has been notable for their silence sweetie 😂😂
Iran was a threat
As as they got the nuclear war head
They were coming for us
Preposterous. We and Israel have bombed them countless times to “end their nuclear ambitions.”
“Iran was and is no threat to the United States.”
Tell that to the families of the thousands of Americans Iran and its proxies have killed since 1979. The list of atrocities is long.
And given that we are the “Great Satan,” called that by an apocalyptic regime, what do you think the chances are that an Iranian nuke would some day be used against us?
You f-cked up. You swallowed the black pill.
Iran has been at war with the U.S. since the 1979 revolution.
This isn’t a new war; it’s a long-overdue reprisal.
The rest of your post is infantile and myopic ignorance and misplaced pique.
Inflation spiked to 3.8% today… isn’t it great?
Say hello to Speaker Jefferies a total nightmare unleashed by Trump and this massive miscalculation.
Well I suppose President Trump could have opted to fund Iran’s nuclear ambitions like Obama, but that wouldn’t have been too smart now would it my bluesky little buddy?
Oh, come on, Donald.
Pull the plug on the ceasefire
Then pull THEIR plug.
Stop getting played. Stop putting it off.
Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius
I’m not one of the cool kids. Please translate.
Today it means Kill them all and let God sort them out. It was originally uttered by the commander of the Albigensian Crusade (Arnaud Amalric), prior to the massacre at Béziers on 22 July 1209. A direct translation of the Medieval Latin phrase is “Kill them, for the Lord knows those that are His”.
They’ve been pulling his plug. Right now, “those in the know” are saying he won’t make a move until he returns from China, making it look like he needs Xi’s permission.
That visual is highly disturbing and it might give Russia, China the time to obtain Iran’s unranium; I don’t think many would be happy with that,
I wonder if Trump has offered to pay Iran for its nuclear stockpile. Iran has spent considerable time, effort, and money in its accumulation. It would be equitable to make an offer to pay rather than just demand its surrender. (The optics of turning down payment are much worse than rejecting simple surrender demands.) If Iran does have useful amounts of plutonium, NASA would love to have access to such a stash.
Iran is now saying it’s irretrievably buried. Let us worry about unburying it.
You mean he should send them pallets of cash, like Obama did?
The optics of that are worse.
They won’t turn it down. They’ll take the money and then just continue what they were doing.
I want someone to send me pallets of cash. Actually just one would do. I promise I’ll stop building an a-bomb if someone does.
Why pay for it. Take it. Better yet take it and split it with Israel. That’s guaranteed to set certain factions on fire and I’m all for that.
Some explain why the Kurds won’t give gun n ammo to the Iranians.
?
A Kurdistan would occupy parts of Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and maybe Syria or some combination. This is why none of those countries is that well disposed to them and they probably reciprocate.
Trump
Grok explains it well and very plausible, but not sure that it’s accurate
Trump needs to completely defang Iran’s ability to threaten the straits or their neighbors. So far Trump keeps claiming that he has defeated the Iranian military but the Iranian military keeps firing off missiles, boarding ships, and otherwise preventing the sea lanes from being open. One Iran cannot disrupt the sea lanes, then Trump can wait out the Iranians.
Massive life support, lol.
It was never alive.
maybe mossad will find out which villas or nyc condos the mullahs are hiding out at…gracie mansion??!!!!!!
There’s no point in negotiating agreements with zealots whose religion tells them lying to “”infidels” is the way to go. More evidence that the correct approach was always along lines advocated by Gen. Curtis LeMay: “Kill enough of them they stop fighting.” Plus, “If you going to use military force, then you ought to use overwhelming military force. Use too much, and deliberately use too much; you’ll save lives, not only your own, but the enemy’s too.” And let’s not forget, “There are no innocent civilians, so it doesn’t bother me so much to be killing innocent bystanders.”
