Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass Pressed on Homeless Issue She Promised to Fix by 2026

“I didn’t anticipate some of the bureaucratic barriers that I would experience, but I am prepared to take those on now.”

During a recent appearance on CNN, Democrat Karen Bass, the incumbent candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, was pressed about her failure to deal with the city’s massive homeless problem, an issue she campaigned on fixing.

According to the interviewer, she told Jake Tapper in 2023 that she would have the issue dealt with by 2026, but as he notes, she is not even close.

FOX News has details:

Karen Bass grilled over broken homelessness promise, blames bureaucracy for slowed progress

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was grilled about her past promise to end street homelessness in the city, but admitted in an interview released Wednesday that she unfortunately fell far short of that goal.

Bass, who is running for re-election, did an interview with CNN at the St. Vincent Behavioral Health Campus, formerly a hospital, that is being transformed into a facility for mental health, addiction treatment and housing for the homeless. Los Angeles is one of many cities in California that have become known for homelessness.

Anchor Elex Michaelson asked, “So, when you talked to Jake Tapper in 2023, you said that your goal was to end street homelessness in LA by 2026. It’s now 2026 and we haven’t ended it. How are you so off?”

“We haven’t ended it,” Bass agreed. “Basically when I said that, it was at the beginning of my term. I am very committed to achieving that goal. I didn’t anticipate some of the bureaucratic barriers that I would experience, but I am prepared to take those on now.”

She went on to argue that Los Angeles had made a choice in past decades to not address homelessness and focus solely on building, noting she has fast-tracked many affordable housing units.

“So, basically, the policy of LA City and LA County was we could accept street homelessness as long as we were building. We didn’t anticipate the problem metastasizing,” she said. “In my three and a half years, for the first time, two years in a row, street homelessness has decreased in our city. There hadn’t been a decrease before.”

I know that Spencer Pratt seems like a longshot, but I just don’t understand how Karen Bass keeps her job. Between this issue and her handling of the wildfires, and the lack of rebuilding, she really deserves to be fired.

Pratt must keep hammering Bass and repeating the same message: Karen Bass let the city burn down and is now standing in the way of reconstruction. Vote for me and let’s get to work rebuilding.

The viral videos for his campaign are very effective. I don’t think these two are even official campaign videos but they’re very good.

“I didn’t anticipate some of the bureaucratic barriers that I would experience, but I am prepared to take those on now.” No she won’t. For her this is an accomplishment. How does she keep her job? Unions.

“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” – Booker T. Washington

The parallel is exact. Like the race grievance industry, the homeless industry dares not actually solve the problem, lest their grift be discontinued.

“Oh, but it will be different if you just vote for me again!”

The song, “Ball Of Confusion” by the Temptations comes to mind. “Vote for me and I’ll set you free! Rap on, brother, rap on.” Sister in this case.

And the band played on.

Translation: She wasn’t prepared for how much of her own party’s graft she should have to hide.

No different from Newscum, who is more than 20 years into his ’10 year plan’ to fix homelessness and there are significantly more than when he started.

Homelessness is one of the absolute best demonstratio0n of white AWFL suicidal empathy.

They are ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that every one of them is a budding genius just ‘fallen on hard times’ or some poor orphan Annie, instead of the simple obvious fact that the vast, VAST majority of them are irredeemable drug addicts just chasing their next high.

The ones actually fallen on hard times don’t stay on the street.

The ones that have been homeless more than a year are 99% menaces to society.

You can’t ‘fix’ a homeless drug addict that craps in the middle of the street. You can only remove them from society.

But liberal white women want to feel good about themselves, so they continue this farce of ‘fixing’ homelessness so they can brag about it to their stupid rich AWFL ‘friends’ about how much more caring they are than those icky conservatives.

I believe Spencer Pratt will win on election day, but by 30 days later the Dems will know what numbers they need and will send in mail-in ballots to over turn it to Bass.

The Dems do not care about valid votes but who they want in office. I am sure similar things will happen for California Governor. This will lead to increased people and business moving out of the state.

And likely she will still win because she’s a black female and what else do you need, California.
