The normal thing to do here would be to show some humanity and decency, but these folks seem incapable of that.

Civil disobedience rises at UVU as left-wing groups congregate after the assassination of Charlie Kirk
Over the past few months, a new activist group has established itself at Utah Valley University, calling itself the Civil Disobedience Club (CDC).
CDC’s social media posts have included claims that “MAGA = Nazis,” statements that Jesus was a refugee, and criticism of a local business for supporting the school’s TPUSA chapter.
The Cougar Chronicle reported on the CDC’s Discord channel, where user “Rene225,” described as a bad actor, mocked the assassination of Charlie Kirk through memes and violent rhetoric.
Claiming to be a trans Latina, user Rene225 posted a meme featuring a Dragon Ball Z character attacking the late Kirk. In another thread, Rene225 wrote that “they know that they aren’t welcome here,” referring to TPUSA members.
Rene225 continued escalating the rhetoric by suggesting that weapons should be used to fight “fascism,” stating that shooting “some” people is acceptable, and implying that Kirk should “die again.”
“Why can’t this goofy a** b***h just make like the meme he already turned into and just die? Again,” Rene225 wrote. After posting photos highlighting rifle skills, Rene225 prompted concerns from critics who argued the account should be investigated for potentially inciting violence.
It remains unclear whether Rene225 is a student, alumnus, or online troll.
Liram Koblentz-Stenzler, senior researcher and head of the Extremism & Antisemitism Desk at the International Institute for Counter Terrorism, wrote a scholarly article examining online rhetoric prior to Kirk’s death. Her article, “The Assassination of Charlie Kirk: Online Dynamics of Radicalization and the Normalization of Political Violence,” discusses rhetoric similar to Rene225’s posts.
Koblentz-Stenzler’s research suggests that political violence is cultivated over time through humor, conspiracy theories, and moral justification. According to her research, these tactics help desensitize individuals. She observed social media discussions that initially criticized Kirk’s views and appearance before shifting toward what she described as “playful aggression.”
