Florida should be able to use the map in November for midterms, but I bet someone will file a lawsuit today.
“Florida got shortchanged in the 2020 Census, and we’ve been fighting for fair representation ever since,” DeSantis said last week. “Our population has since grown dramatically, and we have moved from a Democrat majority to a 1.5 million Republican advantage. Drawing maps based on race, which is reflected in our current congressional districts, is unconstitutional and should be prohibited.”
Florida will still have 28 Congressional districts.
The Republicans hold 20 of those Congressional seats.
The new map has four seats that lean Republican represented by the following Democrats:
- Darren Soto
- Kathy Castor
- Jared Moskowitz
- Debbie Wasserman Schultz
Congressional districts 10, 23, 20, and 24 lean Democrat.

Kick that frizzled hair clown Schultz out of congress please!!!!
What, our miracle girl? Left her job running the DNC and had a congressional seat four months later? That’s gotta be another one of those “Democrats records.”
No. She was actually a rep before the DNC gig and during it and after.
Oh! I knew about before, but I thought she had to quit to take the DNC post.
The end of Little Debbie What Aslut. The question is who will be happier – republicans or Bernie.
It would be a real shame if Debbie Wasserman Schultz got a pink slip.
How is it that not a few so-called conservatives hate this man? The pejorative “meatball” used by petty puritans comes to mind.
Rubio and DeSantis 2028.
DeSantis 2028.
That is not a possible slate. President and Vice-president have to be from different states.
It’s possible. They don’t have to be from different states, it’s just that Florida’s 30 electors wouldn’t be able to vote for both of them.
If the ticket wins 300-238 or better, then the 30 Florida electors can choose to vote Rubio/someone-else, or Someone-else/Desantis, it doesn’t matter.
If the ticket wins 285-253 or better, 15 Florida electors vote Rubio/someone-else and 15 vote Someone-else/Desantis, so that each of them gets 270 and wins.
If the ticket wins 270-268 or better, then it depends who controls the house and the senate.
If the Republicans control the senate but not the majority of state delegations to the House then the Florida electors all vote Rubio/someone-else, so Rubio has a majority and wins, while the VP election is 268-240-30 and goes to the senate, which elects Desantis.
If they control a majority of House delegations but not the senate, then the Florida electors all vote Someone-else/Desantis, so Desantis has a majority and wins, while the presidential vote is 268-240-30 and goes to the House, which elects Rubio.
If they control neither, then then the Florida electors all vote Rubio/someone-else, so Rubio has a majority and wins, while the VP election is 268-240-30 and goes to the senate, which elects the Democrat. Or one of them moves to another state before December 18, which is when the electors vote. That way all the Florida electors can vote for both and they both win.
If Soto goes I will finally have a Republican rep!
Reasonable, rational maps of Congressional representation that aren’t tied into twisted little threads or fifty miles of highway to connect districts. Good.
FL showed IN how it’s done.
ot but not by much:
this leftttttwing judge who hates trump aplogizes to attempted potus murderer:
A federal judge apologized to Cole Tomas Allen, the man accused of attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump, during a May 4 hearing and grilled a jail representative over the conditions Allen has faced since his arrest.
“I’m sorry,” Magistrate Judge Zia M. Faruqui told Allen, who was wearing an orange jumpsuit over a white shirt, after Allen’s lawyer described jail conditions that included having been kept alone in a cell and being denied access to a Bible.
“Whatever you’ve been through, I apologize for the prior week,” Faruqui said at one point.

the game is over
the left will become more violent and threats at the voting booth will increase causing mail in balloting to become even more normalized
we are in biggggg trouble
Not in the state of LA, thank God. Sure, you can turn in a ballot for an individual, but they have to be immediate family and you have to sign an affidavit swearing as such.
I feel sorry for states that have randos collect ballots willy nilly.
Democrats fall back position is violence because they are incapable of debating their ideas with us on the right. They most fear the ‘follow up question’.
DeSantis said something that people are glossing over or ignoring entirely that is monumental. The 2020 census was rigged in a number of states. It gave CA and NY more seats than they should have and shortchanged others like FL. The 2030 census is going to be huge and fighting to not count illegal aliens is going to make or break the blue states.
Illegal aliens have to be counted. The question is which states they’ll be in. The Dem states are going to try to make sure as many as possible are in their state on census night. Meanwhile Rep states will be cooperating with the feds to deport as many of them, or chase them into the Dem states. So they are going to get some benefit out of it, the question is only how much.
so if an illegal alien is here for 5 days and the census is taken
you are saying they get counted as a citizen?
that would be wrong
Milhouse is correct. The census counts persons, not citizens. The Constitution refers to both “citizens” and “persons” at various times and places, though the definition of “citizens” was kinda fuzzy at the start of the republic; it is much more clearly defined now. Only “citizens” can serve in office, for example. However, the Constitution in apportionment specifically refers to “persons” when counting for the census Art. 1, Sec. 2, Para. 3. BTW – this is the same clause with the infamous “3/5 clause” referring to “all other persons” (slaves) counted as 3/5 of a person – a necessary compromise made to get a constitution in the first place.
Thus there is a distinction between “persons” and “citizens.” And for census purposes, the Constitution refers to persons. We can argue over whether that is good or bad, but it simply is. Think it’s dumb? Amend the constitution.
No. 3/5 of slaves counted as 100% of a person; the other 2/5 were not counted at all. The distinction is important, even if it had no practical consequences. As important as the fact that the framers went to great pains to ensure that the word “slave” did not appear in the constitution, and that nothing in it directly endorsed slavery. They also ensured that no racist language appeared in the constitution.
