Dem Rep Sparks Liberal Fury After Calling Graham Platner’s Nazi Tattoo ‘Disqualifying’
“I think it would be a mistake for the Democratic Party to think that Graham Platner’s brand of the Democratic Party is what wins us durable majorities throughout this country.”
During a Monday interview with CNN’s Boris Sanchez, Massachusetts Rep. Jake Auchincloss, a typically obedient Democrat, said he finds Maine’s Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner’s Nazi “tattoo and his commentary about it to be personally disqualifying. I hope Maine voters agree with me.”
Auchincloss added, “I think it would be a mistake for the Democratic Party to think that Graham Platner’s brand of the Democratic Party is what wins us durable majorities throughout this country.”
It was an extraordinary remark from a congressman whose party routinely stands behind its own, with almost no exceptions. Frankly, I didn’t think Auchincloss was capable of such candor.
💥NEW: Dem Rep. Jake Auchincloss says Graham Platner’s Nazi tattoo should be “DISQUALIFYING”🤯

Nearly as extraordinary, instead of asking Auchincloss whether he was endorsing Platner’s Republican opponent, incumbent Sen. Susan Collins, Sanchez simply ended the segment there.
Naturally, Democrats were upset by what they considered to be Auchincloss’s betrayal of the party’s broader objective: winning back the Senate majority. Despite Platner’s tattoo and the growing trove of deleted social media posts from his past that have surfaced in recent weeks, Democrats have largely circled the wagons around him.

California Democratic candidate Saikat Chakrabarti, who is running for outgoing Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi’s seat, took to Twitter to say that Auchincloss should be primaried. He wrote: “Jake Auchincloss is essentially endorsing Susan Collins in Maine. Absolutely no excuse for a Democrat in the House to back a Republican for Senate in a crucial swing seat.”

Auchincloss should be primaried. His primary election is September 1 in a safe, D+11 seat. https://t.co/YVTSyDhMQb

If Chakrabarti’s name sounds familiar, it’s because he cofounded Justice Democrats, the progressive political action committee that helped elect Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to Congress in 2018. He served as her campaign manager before becoming her first chief of staff. He later left to lead New Consensus, an organization promoting the Green New Deal that he helped develop.
YouTuber Kyle Kulinski wrote on X that Auchincloss should resign from Congress: “Effectively endorsing a MAGA republican as Trump loots the treasury, starts illegal wars, builds ICE concentration camps and tanks the economy is completely unacceptable.” He urged followers to call Auchincloss’s office to let their feelings be heard.
I don't say this lightly. @JakeAuch should resign from congress. Effectively endorsing a MAGA republican as Trump loots the treasury, starts illegal wars, builds ICE concentration camps and tanks the economy is completely unacceptable. Calls his DC office and let him know how you… https://t.co/HdG5UN1aOK

And Democrats answered the call.
I called his office and expressed my concerns. I really hope that the young man, Lee will pass along my concerns about his boss supporting fascists instead of Democrats. Collins appeared with a far right militia over Memorial Day, which is completely unacceptable.

Some took aim at Auchincloss, who is Jewish, for accepting donations from AIPAC.

Others hit him for burning a Quran in 2010 and reporting it in a Facebook post.

While Auchincloss did most certainly criticize Platner, he did not endorse Collins.
Tired of the blowback from members of his own party, Auchincloss clarified his position. While he sees Platner’s Nazi tattoo as disqualifying, he is not endorsing Susan Collins, whom he called “a rubber stamp for the worst admin in history.” He hopes to see Democrats “take back both chambers.”
Susan Collins is a rubber stamp for the worst admin in history. Claims that I would endorse her, implicitly or otherwise, ignore my track record supporting Democrats to take back both chambers. As I said months ago, I find Platner's Nazi tattoo and his commentary about it…

Auchincloss is reportedly distantly related to former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (via her mother’s second marriage) which prompted one X user to respond:
There is sadly not a single profile in courage to be found in the contemporary Democratic Party
Sad!

But another X user disputed this remark:
There is one. @SenFettermanPA

“Sanchez simply ended the segment there.”
A CNN whore experienced enough to avoid attracting her OWN swarm of bees.
Auchincloss has been lulled by life in a state where he can’t lose, into thinking he now has the freedom to say what he really thinks. We’re looking at a modern day Nikolai Bukharin.
I mean this in the most offensive way possible. That culty party is a weird and creepy hive of scum and villainy.
I suppose the reason the rest of the wokiesta, leftist d/prog are so infuriated at both Senator Fetterman and Rep Auchincloss is that it highlights that they are all complicit in boosting a d/prog candidate sporting not just a Nazi tattoo but an SS totenkopf tattoo over his heart. Dissent from d/prog orthodoxy/narrative is verboten.
He was fixing to try for Markey’s seat, but he decided the time wasn’t right (or that Moulton was outpolling him). He is one of the brighter guys in his profession.
Did they actually refer to Susan Collins as a “MAGA” Republican. I shot water through my nose when I read that. If Susan Collins is a “MAGA” Republican then that means that Lisa Murkowski is a conservative icon and AOC is actually moderate.
You beat me to it
Collins MAGA???
HAHAHAHA
Yep. If they believe Sen Collins (a typical Northeast GoP wishy washy moderate) is ‘MAGA’ aka center/right populist then what would they say about the typical person posting at LI? Even more bizarre is that they’d rather support the trust fund baby posing as working class who sported an SS totenkopf tattoo till it became a campaign distraction.
I’m sure they still consider Liz Cheney a MAGA Republican.
Kyle Kulinski wrote on X that Auchincloss should resign from Congress: “Effectively endorsing a MAGA republican as Trump loots the treasury, starts illegal wars, builds ICE concentration camps and tanks the economy is completely unacceptable.”
If Kyle thinks Collins is MAGA, it explains why everything else she said sounds retarded.
Stalin would probably be maga to them. It doesn’t matter if it’s true or they believe it. They just say whatever they think will help them.
The vile, stupid and evil Dhimmi-crats are the party of National Socialist and Islamofascist Jew-hate. Their candidate slate for the 2026 congressional midterm elections — not just the wretched Platner, but myriad other Muslim and non-Muslim Jew-haters — confirms it.
When the Dhimmi-crats are supporting a congressional candidate who’s gleefully stated that American “Zionists” should be placed in “camps” and castrated, a U.S. Senate candidate who sported a SS or similar tattoo, and innumerable Muslim supremacist Jew-haters and Israel-bashers, I’d submit that these evil pukes have gone full-“Final Solution.”
They never did that. She was never the Democrat candidate for anywhere, and her words were too much even for them, at least before the primary. If she’d kept her mouth shut until after the primary they might have felt compelled to support her, but since the primary hadn’t happened yet she wasn’t their problem and they denounced her to make sure she wouldn’t be their problem.
I doubt those weasel words will satisfy the Khmer Rouge wing of his party, which is gaining in power. Not only has the Thermidorian Reaction NOT arrived, it is nowhere in sight. Auchincloss is a prominent officeholder in a party that seeks to exterminate Jews, and he is fooling himself if he thinks he will be spared.
He gave us AOC
For that, he must be defeated
Who gave us AOC? I don’t understand.
For the kind of anti-American communist filth that elects idiots like this cheesedick this is not disqualifying, it’s street cred and a resume enhancer.
Anyone who supports Der AusterMann should die a long horrible painful death.
Auchincloss: People who wear Nazi tattoos don’t represent the values of the Democratic Party.
Dems: REEEEEE! Yes they do!! CANCEL HIM!!!
Keeping the Babylon Bee satirical is one of the hardest jobs in the world.
So, does this mean Trump and the GOP are no longer to be considered NAZI’s by the Left-o-sphere?
Or just the disfavored NAZI’s who don’t support the final solution? Getting hard to keep track of the leftist Friend/Enemy Card.
lefty: trump is hitler
but its the dems who wear nazi tats and hate israel
expect that kind of talk to be shut down
Statement sounds like backhanded support for Collins without his “clarification”.
Did anyone else note that the CNN personality was surprised that an actual Nazi tattoo was disqualifying to a Democrat?
So then, let me see if I have this straight: the Democrats want Auchincloss purged for saying that a far left commie Democrat with a Nazi tattoo should be disqualified for the tattoo and statements he made about the tattoo, while the foul-mouthed nasty commie with a Nazi past should stick around and be a hero to them? Wow.
