Trump Blasts Norah O’Donnell for Only Reading Nasty Parts of Alleged Shooter’s Manifesto
O’Donnell basically only mentioned the part where Cole Allen called Trump a pedophile and rapist.
President Donald Trump called CBS News’s Norah O’Donnell disgraceful for picking apart Cole Allen‘s, the alleged WHCA Dinner shooter, manifesto, starting with calling the president “a pedophile, rapist, and traitor.”
Here’s the portion:
Norah O’Donnell: The so-called manifesto is a stunning thing to read, Mr. President. He appears to reference a motive in it. He writes this quote, “Administration officials, they are targets.” And he also wrote this, “I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.” What’s your reaction to that?
President Trump: Well, I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you’re– you’re he– you’re horrible people. Horrible people. Yeah, he did write that. I’m– I’m not a rapist. I didn’t rape anybody.
Norah O’Donnell: Oh you think– do you think he was referring to you?
President Trump: I’m not a pedophile. Excuse me. Excuse me. I’m not a pedophile. You read that crap from some sick person? I got associated with all– stuff that has nothing to do with me. I was totally exonerated. Your friends on the other side of the plate are the ones that were involved with, lets say, Epstein or other things. But I said to myself, “You know, I’ll do this interview and they’ll probably”– I read the manifesto. You know, he’s a sick person. But you should be ashamed of yourself reading that because I’m not any of those things.
Norah O’Donnell: Mr. President these are the gunman’s words –
President Trump: And I was never– excuse me. Excuse me. You shouldn’t be reading that on 60 Minutes. You’re a disgrace. But go ahead. Let’s finish the interview.
Norah O’Donnell: The other thing that he wrote, in the–
President Trump: You– you’re disgraceful.

Look, I expect the media to ask Trump about the manifesto. But Trump knows the majority of MSM has ulterior motives, knowing the reporters have an agenda against him.
O’Donnell then brought up Allen’s disbelief about the lack of security at the hotel and anti-Christian rhetoric.
Trump even asked O’Donnell why she wouldn’t read all of the anti-Trump rhetoric.
O’Donnell left out the other attacks on Trump, where Allen called him the antichrist and a sociopathic mob boss.
Allen also wrote about Trump striking drug boats from Venezuela and ICE detaining illegal aliens.
Did O’Donnell raise those points? Nope.

At least PRESIDENT Trump is not taking their garbage anymore and calling them out on the spot. Reading a manifesto as though it were fact without all the legal weasel words is a typical tactic (but the terrorist said it!), and part of the Goebbelsian repetition of a lie to make it sound factual.

I need to point out that *every* Republican President before Trump would have gone into some sort of “of course this kind of false rhetoric is damaging to the institution…” Trump is different, and in the way that Republicans *NEED* to be. The media is perfectly happy to splash this kind of crap across every TV screen and radio talking bit, and the only way to fight it is head-on, right into their faces, and make them admit to their bias.

Why Trump feels a need to talk to these people is baffling. Not one thing will change because of this event. No communist or communist like movement will change how they behave or what they are willing to do to win.

We often hear the thinking that Republicans and conservatives should avoid interviews with the Democrat-sympathizing media, but those interviews are the best, most direct way to counter their narratives.
Can such interviews change the minds of their viewers? Possibly, if any of them are more reasonable and open-minded.
Limiting interviews to those conducted by friendly media only will, at best, just give THEIR viewers more of what they already agree with,

We changed hotels at the last minute yesterday, and booked a room at the Hilton at 3p.
I was never asked for a key, but could’ve produced one from a different city. Also never asked for ID, and waltzed through the lobby and lower ballroom areas like I owned the place.
Only saw one LE dog by the red carpet, which also had surprisingly lax security. Having been to this event several times as early as 1995, this was probably the least security I’ve encountered.
