Syracuse students vandalize, steal sign at ‘Change My Mind’ table opposing youth gender transitions
Students at Syracuse University were recently caught on camera vandalizing and stealing a sign at a debate table hosted by a group of conservative students.
Footage captured by the Leadership Institute’s State Recruiter for New York Elianna Geertgens and shared exclusively with Campus Reform shows a female student approaching the camera before giving the middle finger and asking, “What are you going to do with this? Send it to the government?”
The student then shoves past Geertgens and tears multiple sections of the sign. Another female student can be seen recovering one of the pieces before a male student runs off with it.
The incident occurred during a Leadership Institute-sponsored “Change My Mind” tabling event. Benjamin Williams, a conservative content creator known online as “PraxBen,” debated students on the premise that “Minors should not be allowed to transition.”
Williams told Campus Reform that during the event he heard several students make remarks to the effect of “Watch your neck” and other similar comments, referencing the assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University’s campus last year.
He also noted that the theft occurred after he briefly stepped away from the table, leading him to believe that the vandals waited until the females present were left alone to deal with the situation.
Police arrived shortly thereafter and informed the student activists that they had been called by disgruntled students in response to the event. After asking to see the permit for the tabling event, the officer informed the table hosts that if they were to file a police report, their addresses would be made public information.
The students ultimately decided not to file the report, fearing potential backlash and doxxing from leftist students. One of the students present during the incident, Tatiana Romero, told Campus Reform that conservatives at the school have been doxxed in the past.

he University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law faces accusations of discrimination after an administrator allegedly threatened to discipline a conservative campus group for identifying protesters who disrupted a recent event.
The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) said it sent a letter urging the university to retract what it calls a threat against Federalist Society members’ rights.
The controversy stems from an April 21 event featuring Department of Homeland Security (DHS) general counsel James Percival. More than 150 protesters swarmed the talk, booing, shouting profanities and, according to Percival, making death threats.
