Leftist Students Repeatedly Disrupt UCLA Law School Event Featuring DHS Official

The Federalist Society chapter at UCLA Law School recently tried to hold an event featuring James Percival, a DHS lawyer, but left-wing students came to the venue and repeatedly interrupted, disrupted, and made a general nuisance of themselves.
This behavior only goes in one direction. Leftist students hold events with speakers, but no one ever does this to them.

A chaotic situation unfolded on Tuesday night in Los Angeles as far-left activists and students disrupted and chastised a Department of Homeland Security attorney who was speaking to law students at a conservative group’s event at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
The incident took place at a speech hosted by the Federalist Society’s UCLA chapter, where James Percival, general counsel of the DHS, was speaking to law students. Over 150 protesters gathered outside the event chanting criticisms of the Trump administration, including “No ICE, No KKK, No Fascist U.S.A.”
Inside the event, students booed Percival throughout his talk, and many held profane signs while he spoke. One sign read, “F— you loser.” The students also set off different sounds on their phones as part of the disruption, and at different points, yelled out the word “Nazi.”
The event culminated in a question and answer session, when most of the disruptors walked out in protest.
“Yesterday, DHS General Counsel James Percival came to UCLA School of Law for a good-faith academic discussion and was met with personal attacks, repeated interruptions, and organized disruption that prevented him from speaking,” UCLA FedSoc chapter president Matthew Weinberg told Fox News Digital.
“As President of the UCLA Law Federalist Society and the event organizer, I saw students who came to hear and question a senior federal official denied that opportunity. If this is what it looks like for conservative law students trying to host a speaker at an American law school in 2026, we are not staying silent about it.”

In a letter posted on its Instagram account last week, the Latine Law Students Association condemned Percival’s invitation.
“By giving Mr. Percival a platform, The Federalist Society and UCLA Law are legitimizing and normalizing racially discriminatory policies that are actively harming both UCLA students and our broader community,” the organization said.
After the event was announced, left-wing campus groups circulated posts and online petitions containing rhetoric described as “threatening.” One of those radical leftist groups was By Any Means Necessary (BAMN), which on its website calls for a “militant new civil rights and immigrant rights movement,” posted a flyer on Instagram promoting a picketing event outside the law school.
“UCLA must not give representatives of ICE and the Trump Administration a base to organize Trump’s campaign of racist ethnic cleansing of the U.S. and the Middle East,” the flyer said.
“Stop the fascist takeover of the American federal government! Stop the Trump police state!” the caption on the social media post said.
You really have to marvel at their sense of entitlement and moral superiority.

What, UCLA has no campus security? What, the other students sat on their hands?
It would be nice to see the folks putting on the event approach the disruptors and tell them, “This is an academic event. We want to hear the speaker so we can engage in debate and learn something. If that is not why you are here then please leave. If it is, then quit disrupting.” Then you TELL them to leave when they continue. Then you call security.
Also, I would plan all my events to take a lot longer than you think they would to allow you to wait them out. And if you finish early because of good behavior, you can have some punch and cookies and form little debating groups in a socially un-managed fashion and enjoy.
These disruptions make for a great CV for future wannabe Dem politicians. Look at Eric Holder…. part of an ARMED takeover of a building during protests.

Since they’re acting like middle-schoolers, you require them to immediately enroll in remedial courses in EVERY subject? That is, in addition to whatever course load they are currently carrying. And they must pass them all or lose their spot.

Why limit the responsibility to Men? Women are either equal in society or they ain’t. Can’t be simultaneously strong/independent while also being ‘just a helpless damsel dependent upon Men for protection’. Either we believe in societal equality for Men and Women with equal civic/social expectations, duties, privileges and responsibilities or we don’t.

Personally I’d agree with your sentiment but I’ve come to realize that by and large Men have been treated by society as ‘Boxer’ the horse was treated in Animal Farm; exploited by their basic goodness/idealism for so long as they are useful and sent to the glue factory when they become less useful. We live in an age that views people, much less relationships as disposable. Now I reserve my provision of any acts of ‘chivalry’ for women I am positive are Ladies. Why in the heck are organizers allowing people in if their express purpose is to disrupt the event. The minute they started their shenanigans I would have had these Useful Idiots™ promptly removed from the venue and the building. They do not have the right to disrupt an event that others may want to attend.
Normally you would be right in saying so. But now Democrats have given themselves the ‘right’ by virtue of their own righteousness and goodness. Thus they will act on it until stopped.
The answer is call on Security to remove them. If the disruptive folks don’t stand up and get out when ordered then use escalating levels of force to compel their cooperation and compliance. CS to each face, followed by a sandbag over the head to prevent spitting, handcuffs obviously and compliance strikes with a baton until they follow commands to remain still in whatever position they are told until directed to move. The level of force needed is dictated by the actions of the disruptive folks. Of they comply immediately there’s zero physical force needed. Easy. Simple. Effective. Society doesn’t have the stones to do it.

When we use the qualifiers like leftist, far left and ultra left etc, we are giving those regular Democrats the comfort of separation between themselves and the others. The disrupters appear to have gotten coaching. They disturbed but did not shout down the speaker. They did just enough to ruin the speech and just little enough that they could win a big money lawsuit if the school tried any disciplinary action. A heckler’s veto is usually protected speech by the 1st amendment at this public university.
Meh. Drag them out if they refuse…after applying CS. Make a quick head shaving part of intake at jail for all students/student age people say 25 and under (can’t be too safe about potential head lice) along with a full search (cavities included) and shower plus delousing powder. Mugshot both before/after to ensure photos accurately depict them before public dissemination. Another useful tool would be to post intake mugshots on employment websites so that all potential employers are fully apprised of the arrests and they can’t be memory holed. Done correctly deterrence can be very useful.
