Hilarity Ensues After Tucker Carlson Launches ‘Low IQ’ Merch Collection

For as long as I can remember, it’s been fashionable on social media platforms like X to wear certain criticisms from other platform users like badges of honor by way of referencing them either in your bio or in a pinned tweet.

I haven’t done that in a long time, but when I did, I remember leftist commentator Matt Yglesias telling me to “f*** off,” and me putting the quote alongside his name in my bio at the time.

There was also the time when actor Russell Crowe blocked me back in 2012 on what was then known as Twitter for the crime of political disagreement. I thought it was neat to note in my X bio that the actor who played the big, tough guy Gladiator character got triggered by little ol’ me.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but when it is done in the context of social media and is confined to social media, it makes sense, and can usually be figured out by whoever is reading it pretty quickly.

But what about when you try to carry an insult against you or someone you support off social media and into real life? People who have fallen for Tucker Carlson’s latest merch gimmick might be getting ready to find out.

Before we get to that, however, let’s take a look at what prompted it: President Donald Trump declaring Carlson and other bad-faith pseudo-conservatives like Megyn Kelly to be “Low IQ” types in a recent Truth Social posting:

I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years, especially by the fact that they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon — Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs. They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too! Look at their past, look at their record. They don’t have what it takes, and they never did! They’ve all been thrown off Television, lost their Shows, and aren’t even invited on TV because nobody cares about them, they’re NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS, and will say anything necessary for some “free” and cheap publicity.

Carlson has responded by starting a “Thank You, Mr. President” collection on his merch page with hats that simply read “Low IQ”:

I guess they haven’t figured out yet that in doing this, they’ve basically proven Trump’s point:

Further proving the point was ex-Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene:

This X user made probably the best point of all, that most of the people at the places the Tucker hat wearers will go are not going to have any idea it has anything to do with what Trump said about Carlson:

Relatedly, if Tucker thinks turning into a Trump contrarian has done him any favors, he’s sadly mistaken:

Perhaps even more unintentionally hilarious about the “Low IQ” hats is the Tucker quote that sits at the bottom of the same merch page:

At the heart of everything we do is our firm belief in the dignity of the human person. We will honor your God-given dignity by always telling you the truth. And in so doing, we will once again prove the iron law that true things prevail.

Low IQ indeed.
