Former Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax murdered his wife, Cerina, before turning the gun on himself late Wednesday night at their Annadale, VA, home.

Both of their kids were home at the time. Their son called 911.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said the couple were going through “a complicated or messy divorce” at the time. From NBC Washington:

Cerina had cameras installed inside the home at some point, police said. Detectives used them to corroborate the sequence of events.

“Certainly a traumatic event for those children to live through,” Davis said. The children are now with family members.

An investigation is underway, and authorities plan to get a search warrant for the home. Police said there is no threat to the community.

Court records show Cerina Fairfax, who was a dentist, had filed for divorce. Davis said the couple were separated, but still living together in separate bedrooms. Fairfax had been served paperwork recently, and a court date was pending.

“That may have been a spark,” Davis said. “Detectives will figure that out, what led to this tragedy here.”

Fairfax called the police on his wife earlier this year, accusing her of assault.

Cerina installed cameras inside the house at some point, which helped the police determine that an assault never took place.

The police used those same cameras to figure out what happened last night.

In February 2019, a woman accused Fairfax of sexually assaulting her in 2004 at the DNC convention.

Another woman came forward a few days later. The woman claimed the sexual assault happened in 2000 at Duke University.

Fairfax denied both allegations and never faced charges. He never resigned.

Fairfax jumped into the gubernatorial race a year later, but came in fourth in the Democratic primary. He returned to private practice.

If they wait over a decade to report these things, I suspect they are lying.

Good reason …. the “Me too” was/is often trying to get sympathy as one of the oppressed. All of those suppressed memories brought forward by helpful therapists… memories that didn’t happen. Friend has daughter who has divorced her family over abuses that never happened but activated by a therapist. It may be lying, it may be believed as happening…either way… dangerous.

Probably the safe bet. Christine Blasey Ford claimed to have “recovered memories” of being assaulted by Kavanaugh, but not the place or even the year it supposedly happened.

Sorry, if you cry “victim” after a decade, I DON’T CARE.

Well, look at the date — 2019. Right in the middle of #metoo mania. It was open season for inconceivable female hysterical “evidence” that would have made Fells Acres prosecutors blanch.

Good Lord, those poor kids!

Now he’s a good communist

characterizing this as a ” messy ” divorce is a bit of an understatement as both of the parties are deceased

Just noting that when in office, Fairfax was a staunch opponent of Second Amendment rights for everyone else.

Indeed. If Abigail wants to control guns, maybe she should start by confiscating them from shady Democrats. Then she’ll find she never had to do anything else.

Turns out he was just telling on himself that he couldn’t be trusted, just like most Dems that do that kind of grandstanding.

He was a narcissistic psychopath, too, so there’s that.

Don’t know why – but new VA AG comes to mind.

Another mentally ill democrat.

Typical Democrat

One of the consequences of living during complicated times is an increase in vulnerability for mental breakdown. This often manifests as symptoms of anxiety or depression, and many find this so intolerable that they resort to illogical fantasy or irrational anger as a coping strategy. Demagogues and Democrats exploit this to gain influence, power and money, so they have a vested interest in keeping things chaotic. This often has tragic consequences for individuals and for society in general, but that is irrelevant to the sociopaths who compete to be on the leading edge of the mayhem. TDS is one manifestation of this process, but it can take many forms.

How awful for the children.

I can’t figure what is worse: being in the house when the thing happens and knowing exactly what happened or coming home to it?

They deserved so much better!
