Trump Ousts Noem as DHS Secretary, Appoints Sen. Mullin

Trump is making Noem Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas.

President Donald Trump ousted Kristi Noem as Department of Homeland Secretary.

“The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!), will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida. I thank Kristi for her service at ‘Homeland,’” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump has chosen Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin to replace Noem.

Reports indicate that Noem has infuriated Trump these past few days. From Fox News:

Meanwhile, reports surfaced Thursday that Trump is “furious” with Noem over her performance in bicameral Judiciary Committee hearings this week, particularly over a contract for an advertisement that Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., and others grilled her on.

Trump reportedly took issue with her suggesting to Kennedy that he approved a taxpayer-funded ad subcontracted to a firm connected with her inner circle, according to National Review, which also reported that Mullin was being considered a top candidate for her replacement.

A White House official confirmed to Fox News that Trump did not know about the ad and did not approve it, despite her claims to the contrary at the hearings.

“It was a combination of her many unfortunate leadership failures. From [Minnesota] to the ad campaign to the allegations of an affair,” a source familiar with the situation told Fox News.

I can’t tell whether this is a promotion or just putting her in a place where she can’t do damage.

From Homeland Security, a domestic agenda, to Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, a Pan American initiative.

Everyone, everyone (including her cuck husband) knows she is engaging in sexual intercourse with Corey Lewandowsk. She would not deny it at yesterday’s hearing. She applies makeup with a trowel, and the hair and plastic surgery are grotesque. You are probably a fan of pro wrestling.

She’s cute, pretty even… but beautiful? I’d say a fading six who looks very good for her age. As a general scale a ten has a modeling contract, a nine can get into movies/TV and an eight is the prettiest girl in her hometown. The reality is that most of us are average on a standard distribution curve. There’s just as many ones as tens and both are rare. It’s perfectly fine to be average and probably more healthy psychologically to come to terms with one’s reality v gas lighting/sunshine pumping which leads to disappointment when folks overestimate their true level of physical attractiveness to the opposite sex.

gonzotx in reply to CommoChief. | March 5, 2026 at 3:58 pm

I’m sure she stays up late worrying about your “who is beautiful vs pretty scale”

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | March 5, 2026 at 6:13 pm

I’m like most people, within average of the standard distribution. I don’t lie to myself about where I stack up nor cruelly gaslight others about their own attractiveness.

Jennifer Connelly is the same age as Noem. Jennifer Connelly is beautiful. Noem isn’t in the same discussion as Jennifer Connelly. That level of physical attractiveness is rare. Nothing wrong with average though I can understand how some who’ve been gas lit might get upset at someone telling the truth.

          diver64 in reply to gonzotx. | March 6, 2026 at 6:06 am

All men have a 1-10 scale and most women, too. It’s not an obscure thing. I think she is a fine looking woman especially for one entering her 50’s much like Melania. What that has to do with her job performance is a little obscure to me.

        AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to CommoChief. | March 5, 2026 at 7:39 pm

Many women believe they are tens entitled to a six foot man, with six pack abs, and a six figure salary.

In reality, they are a six, who are capable of removing their mask every night.

The shallow always place greater emphasis on looks more than the other important factors like how a person treats others, sex appeal, their grasp of substance in conversation, and much more.

I’ve dated what many consider a 9, and we were engaged in our mid 20’s. But her friends convinced her that my monetary prospects were not “in her league.” We parted. She is still single at 59, unfulfilled at life, moving from one suitor to the next.

I met my wife of 30 years about 5 years later. Just as beautiful, very supportive who made me want to succeed beyond my wildest dreams. We have lived a fruitful life with successful children.

          CommoChief in reply to AF_Chief_Master_Sgt. | March 6, 2026 at 7:44 am

Most women don’t understand that men usually have two objective scales; 1-10 but also a pass/fail. Kinda like the rides at an amusement park ‘gotta be this tall to ride’ so long as women is, in a particular man’s eye, ‘pretty enough’ to go along with more important long term qualities; loyal, pleasant, generally fit, friendly, cooperative and most importantly feminine then that’s a keeper.

You don’t get to be Gov by being a bimbo. Just admit it, you have a problem with good looking women because you have never been able to get one to look at you.

Sanddog in reply to E Howard Hunt. | March 5, 2026 at 3:56 pm

While I’m more of a fan of accepting your age and working with what you have naturally, that’s her choice to make. Women are far more likely to get attacked and dismissed as they age than men are which makes it easier for them to fall into the trap of trying to roll the clock back with plastic surgery, fillers, makeup and hair extensions. If it makes her feel better in a society that loves to tear down women based on their age, so be it.

CommoChief in reply to Sanddog. | March 6, 2026 at 7:37 am

Good point about women sometimes being unfairly ‘dismissed’ as they age though the reverse is also true; when younger in their most physically attractive years women also enjoy unfair/unearned privilege…until it fades.

I don’t care what she looks like, She was somewhat effective and was a pit bull when it came to the press and democrats. I liked that. However that did make her a lightning rod for criticism and there was a lot of that.

In retrospect she should have probably played good cop to someone else’s bad cop. She probably doesn’t have it in her to do that.

I just read the NBCNews report about this. Their up top kyron stated ‘Noem stepping down’. The tag line under her photo said ‘Noem stepping down’. Trump’s quote about her said ‘Noem stepping down’. Story details say she is taking another job w/ this administration.

NBCNews’ big bold headline proclaims TRUMP FIRES NOEM.

Folks, you may think you hate the MSM, but you don’t hate them enough.

amatuerwrangler | March 5, 2026 at 2:58 pm

That appointment depletes the Rs in Senate…. Is OK a lock on providing an R to fill Mullins’ seat? And how long will that take?

Trump has made a practice of depleting his support in Congress to fill administrative jobs. I hope he is right on this one.

ChrisPeters in reply to amatuerwrangler. | March 5, 2026 at 3:31 pm

This is my primary concern on this issue. The majorities in both houses of Congress were already razor thin.

Milhouse in reply to amatuerwrangler. | March 5, 2026 at 8:52 pm

OK has a Republican governor, who will likely make an appointment immediately.

That replacement will be the third person to serve in the same six-year term. The term Mullin is now serving was originally won by Jim Inhofe in 2020, and expires on Jan-3-2027. Inhofe had originally announced that he would retire at the end of his term, but then he got sick and announced in 2022 that he would retire at the beginning of 2023, once a replacement had been elected. Mullin won that special election to serve the rest of Inhofe’s term. Now he will be leaving and a third person will serve the 8 months until November, and then there’ll have to be a special election to see who serves out the remaining 2 months.

Got the scalp. It won’t matter. Mullin may well be more upsetting to the scalpers.

Goodbye tactical Barbie. In good riddance

I’m not sure Mullin is an upgrade. He is an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation, OK has a GoP Gov to appoint his replacement and as a sitting Senator probably won’t face too much of a confirmation fight. If it had to be a Senator I’d have preferred Tom Cotton who is also a sitting Senator and Arkansas also has a GoP Gov while Sen Cotton has been very much in the forefront of reining in out of control overly permissive immigration, including far too many visas.

ChrisPeters in reply to CommoChief. | March 5, 2026 at 3:33 pm

Tom Cotton is an important voice right where he is and is very much needed in the Senate.

Sanddog in reply to CommoChief. | March 5, 2026 at 11:17 pm

Out of curiosity, what’s the problem with Mullins being an enrolled member of the Cherokee nation?

CommoChief in reply to Sanddog. | March 6, 2026 at 6:20 pm

Not a problem at all. I was trying (seemingly failing) to point out his membership is unique in the Senate. I think there’s only maybe three or four in the HoR with acknowledged Tribal membership.

If anything it goes to show how ‘diverse’ Trump’s Cabinet is but he doesn’t pick based on DEI but rather selects based on the things he considers meritorious. IOW Trump ends up with a very diverse cabinet but unintentionally, it’s a an extra side benefit of seeking ‘merit’ wherever it it is found to put the round peg in the round hole v the way the d/prog do it; hammering in a square peg DEI hire into a round hole like Biden choosing VP Harris ‘Ima pick a black woman’ not the best person.

“lol. Yes, she was fired and a liability. And had a camera crew or something. You go with that.

The last Democrat DHS Secretary opened the border to allow millions of unvetted illegal immigrants into our country. As a result tens of thousands of Americans were killed by criminals and illegal drugs. He should have been impeached for the corrupt way he not only ignored the law, but deliberately undermined it. The country suffered for it and as a result the number for getting every last illegal alien out of the country is off the charts. It’s a losing issue with a plurality of the American public.

But Noem wore makeup and had a camera crew or something.

That’s so weak it makes me want to slap your momma for birthing such an idiot.”

Every Leftist and Republican squish and We Hate Everything Trump commentator will now preen as if they were individually responsible for getting Noem out of that office and promptly sharpen their blades for the replacement. Still, for somebody dropped into a department that hates her (like practically every other Trump cabinet secretary) and given a gigantic task with staggering criticism from everybody and their dog, she didn’t do too bad at all.

I said from the start Noem was a bad choice.

From her stupid photo ops with her perfect makeup making a show of ‘going on ICE raids’ to these nonsense ads, she was more interested in boosting herself than getting the job done.

Now, my big negative on this is Mullin. I don’t necessarily have anything against him, but if Trump is suddenly willing to go down a Senator it makes me feel like he’s resigned to the SAVE act failing.

I hope I’m wrong though.

    Can’t have that!

bad move djt
bad move

I am very disappointed of Kristi moving out of DHS.
Seems to me to been doing a outstanding job

This is a loss for Trump and he may not recover. He’s now rewarded the Minnesota push back. The resistance has proven effective and this will cause more. They only removed apx. 650,000 in 2025. They need 5 million by next January. Failure to remove the illegals will cost the Republicans the elections of 2026 and 2028. Mullin will need to greatly escalate the removals.

Ironclaw in reply to ghost dog. | March 5, 2026 at 7:38 pm

Get a clue, they were never going to get 5 million aliens out in a year and a half

Sanddog in reply to Ironclaw. | March 5, 2026 at 11:24 pm

They’d have to deport nearly 7K a day every day to erase what Biden did and put a dent in previous years. The only way to end the mass immigration is to make it impossible for them to stay here. No anchor babies. No free education for non citizen children. No free medical care. No ability to work.

Ironclaw in reply to ghost dog. | March 5, 2026 at 7:39 pm

In addition I noticed you missed the 2 million that deported themselves. That’s the real way to get Mass deportation, get them to do it by themselves

CommoChief in reply to ghost dog. | March 7, 2026 at 8:06 am

Five million by Jan ’27 seems ambitious. Did you mean a cumulative total of five million of ’25 and ’26? That’s more reasonable but given the obstructions of sanctuary jurisdiction and judicial activism to delay deportation it is an up hill climb.

The final couple years/18 months of the Trump 2.0 Admin will see far more deportations. First b/c of cuts to funding and tightened eligibility of govt ‘welfare’. Same for NGO that support illegal aliens. The court cases getting resolved and the judicial overreach getting overturned ends those particular schemes and similar schemes. Is sum the last year 1/2 of Trump and a full 8 years for Vance will see massive deportation, the bulk will be ‘self deported’.

Noem was occasionally a loose canon. Unnecessarily made her boss look bad.

    Dr.Dave in reply to gibbie. | March 6, 2026 at 7:35 am

I think you are correct. Overall she was doing well. Conservitives loosing the propaganda war that ICE is mean and she couldnt articulate herself well enough so she became an easy target.

Her problem was that she made Trump look bad. When she tried to claim Trump knew all about the $200 million ad campaign when he didn’t did not sit well with him. That type of stuff from a subordinate isn’t something he is going to put up with.

She was moved sideways into some Pan America Security Co ordinator position so wasn’t removed from the administration which would have happened if Trump was really angry at her.
