Socialists at U. Vermont Protest Strikes on Iran
“We don’t want to be complicit and have our tax dollars funding yet another foreign war, Imperialist conflict, regime change, whatever you want to call it”
The campus left doesn’t even skip a beat. They go from protesting one thing to another.
NBC News in Vermont reports:
UVM students gather on campus to protest US strikes in Iran
If your evening commute takes you through Burlington’s Main Street, you likely saw or heard a crowd of UVM students and community members on Monday. The protest, organized by the Party for Socialism and Liberation Vermont, drew dozens who braved the cold, sporting signs and banners, calling for a quick end to violence in the Middle East.
“This is unprovoked war from the Trump administration and Israel,” said PSL’s Alyssa Breda.
This comes after the U.S. launched missile strikes on Iran over the weekend. It’s a military operation that President Donald Trump says could last weeks.
Six American service members have been killed.
News of the strikes led to mixed reaction at home. Some argue the country should be focusing on American lives.
“There are millions of Americans struggling right now for health care, food, housing costs rising, rent prices rising, and student loan debt,” Breda said. “We could put that money towards education.”
Demonstrators heard from guest speakers, including their Burlington Ward 8 city councilor, Marek Broderick.
“We don’t want to be complicit and have our tax dollars funding yet another foreign war, Imperialist conflict, regime change, whatever you want to call it,” Broderick said.
Rachel Feldman with the advocacy group, Vermont Friends of Israel, said people should listen to what the people most affected by the violence have to say.
“Listen to the people of Iran. Listen to the people of Israel,” Feldman said. “Not to the people holding the pre-printed, pre-made posters less than 24 hours after the action happens. Listen to the people directly impacted.”

Screaming naïveté from their protective bubble…how nice. When some Middle East nutjob allowed into our country by their guy shows up on their doorstep, then what? Can’t fix the demented.
Idiots one and all and I;m sure they’ve all paid a lot of taxes, not!
Cope and seethe, children… and elder children.
Typical over priveldged losers; they don’t how lucky they are being able to protest their gov’t. If the people of Iran tried that just a week ago they would be murdered. Not to mention Breda who I assume is female would likely be raped, tortured and thrown into some prison. But sure “liberation” Vermont; you want liberation just not for the Iranians; those people don’t count.
Liberate yourselves first from the socialists you keep electing and then get back to us.
Strange that they have no problem with the mad mullahs murdering people in the streets, beating women to death because they aren’t wearing a burka and throwing gays off of buildings. It seems TDS overrides everything.
