Iranian Ballistic Missile Attacks Kill 3 U.S. Servicemen and 9 Israeli Civilians
“Most of those killed in Beit Shemesh attack were in public bomb shelter.”
Three U.S. servicemen and nine Israeli civilians were reported killed as Iran fires ballistic missiles at Israel and across the Middle East.
“U.S. Central Command said Sunday that three American service members were killed and five others were seriously wounded during Operation Epic Fury,” CBS News reported. “The military’s initial statement did not give details on where the casualties took place.”
The first casualties of the operation were reported as CENTCOM disclosed that U.S. troops had “successfully defended against hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks.”
Heartfelt condolences to the families of the 3 US service members who have been killed & to those injured as part of Operation Epic Fury. May their memory be a blessing. https://t.co/Gq9B1xnQWc

With Iran attacking countries across the Middle East, at least nine civilians were killed in an Iranian ballistic missile strike, some 20 miles west of Jerusalem. “At least nine people were killed in a direct missile strike on a residential building in Beit Shemesh on Sunday, officials said, as rescue operations continued at the scene amid extensive destruction,” Ynetnews reported.
The Iranian Regime directly fired missiles toward the civilian neighborhood of Beit Shemesh, killing innocent civilians.

The ballistic missile directly struck a bomb shelter near a synagogue in the central Israeli city of Beit Shemesh, The Times of Israel reported:
The majority of those killed in today’s Iranian missile impact in Beit Shemesh had been taking cover in a public shelter, says the Jerusalem District police chief.
Deputy Commissioner Avshalom Peled is speaking at the scene of a lethal strike that left nine dead and over two dozen wounded.
“As far as I know… it was likely a direct impact on the shelter and most, if not all of those killed, were in there [the public shelter],” says Peled.
He adds that police were aware during the last round of fighting with Iran in June that public shelters and safe rooms are unable to withstand the force of a direct ballistic missile impact.
The senior cop nevertheless urges civilians to continue to take shelter amid missile fire from Iran to guard from lighter impacts.
“Those located in a protected area when the damage isn’t direct, which is the majority of cases, are indeed shielded from the missile or debris that flies through the air,” Peled continues.
The number of people killed in Beit Shemesh from an Iranian ballistic missile now stands at 9, but sadly that number will increase.

With Iranian missile barrages hitting neighbouring Gulf Arab states, Saudi Arabia has finally authorized its military to retaliate against these attacks, reports indicate.

So typical of Iran to attack civilians. This is yet another reason why it’s called a terror state.
It’s ➡️ was
I know. It’s been 47 years and it’s going to take a while to get used to using the past tense.
Kinda like writing last years date on this years checks.
It still is, for now. The regime has been hit hard, but has not yet fallen. Hopefully it won’t be long.
When does the outrage start over Iran’s indiscriminate attacks on civilian targets?
From the Dem-wing? Probably on February 31st.
Outrage? The Dem-wing idiots would be willing to line up to have their throats cut just to avoid offending the jihadis.
But what about the 137 girls killed in Iran yesterday was the question from the BBC this afternoon 🤬🤬🤬 If you can’t hate the chunts enough they come along with ten more reasons for you to hate them.
Never. How much outrage has the media displayed towards Russia blowing up the Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the middle of winter or the apartment buildings they’ve leveled. None as far as I can recall. The msm has their predictable sacred cows and Iran is one of them.
A worthy reminder that even seemingly one-sided wars and conflicts are not cost free.
God bless those lost, and their families too.
Tehrainitite, anyone?
Beit Shemesh is a residential city of about 150K people, and as far as I know contains no legitimate military targets at all. It has a large English-speaking community, so we’ll probably hear a lot of first-hand reports, as evidenced by Hillel Fuld’s tweet cited in this post.
Probably more to come. That’s the nature of warfare and its important to acknowledge and accept that in any large military action there will be collateral deaths. The enemy gets to strike back with what weapons they possess and if those lack precision targeting then that increases the odds of collateral deaths. This understanding shouldn’t deter a legitimate effort but it should give a bit of pause to those who cheer lead conflict, particularly those who’ve avoided military service in a conflict themselves.
Most of the people in the decision loop are well aware of casualties that will happen on both sides
The real problem comes with those who have swallowed the fantasy that we can just kill bad guys with impunity and absolute precision. Even worse, the ones that demand it.
The later group is what I’m referring to buy more so the usual collection of neocon/globalists always seemingly eager to deploy US forces as world police. War ain’t a video game and we should be very careful stewards of US blood and treasure, not eager to send in the USMC/82nd as the preferred solution and this goes even more so for the chicken hawk, cheerleaders who refused to serve in some way during the two decade GWOT, even if it was to serve coffee in a USO tent in Kuwait b/c they had some sort of infirmity preventing active military service.
In this case the deaths were not collateral damage due to the enemy aiming at a legitimate target and missing. These people, and people just like them, were the targets. That missile was targeted at the entire civilian population of Beit Shemesh; it didn’t matter to the mullahs precisely which building it hit, so long as it killed Jews, and their targeting was precise enough for that purpose.
Exactly my point. The weapons Iran does have don’t have great precision, they are a missile version of ‘spray and pray’ use of AK. While the Iranian regime would prefer their missile barrage strike ‘legitimate’ targets they ain’t overly concerned so long they hit anything including civilians. One might make a decent case that missile barrage is necessary to overcome missile defense to get some missiles through the defenses to hit anything at all including ‘legitimate’ targets. Expecting an enemy to adhere to ‘rules’ which place it at a disadvantage is foolish. Obviously we’d prefer they do so but we can’t make them.
The regime using missile barrage is not a surprise, its been their tactic for decades. Any military action against the Iranian regime is almost certainly gonna result in the regime firing off their largely inaccurate missiles. That’s part of the buy in to accept this when any Nation strikes Iran. Doesn’t mean we approve or endorse it but it does mean we gotta accept the reality of it.
No, I think you’re missing my point. The mullahs didn’t aim that missile at a legitimate target, and miss because it wasn’t precise enough. They didn’t “prefer their missile barrage strike ‘legitimate’ targets'” or they would have aimed it at them.
As far as I know there is no legitimate target in the entire city of Beit Shemesh. And their targeting is certainly precise enough to hit the right city. So they deliberately aimed that missile at Beit Shemesh, with the intent that it kill civilians. Not these specific ones, they didn’t care which ones. But they did intend that it kill these people or people just like them.
