ICE Video Conflicts With Protester’s Testimony
“Unfortunately for the media, we have the receipts. As shown in our video, Aliya Rahman clearly had enough room to move herself and her vehicle out of the way.”
Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who has faced sustained criticism over years of misleading statements about his Vietnam War service, is now promoting claims about an Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrest in Minneapolis that appear more contested than his public framing suggests.
Blumenthal amplified the testimony of Minneapolis activist Aliya Rahman following her detention during a January protest targeting ICE, portraying her account as settled fact despite the emergence of video footage and agency statements that complicate that narrative.

“Aliya Rahman was assaulted & violently dragged from her car by immigration agents & then detained without access to medical care. Despite the severe physical & mental toll, she is unafraid to demand accountability.”
Rahman later testified before a congressional forum, describing what she portrayed as a chaotic and violent encounter in which ICE agents shattered her car window without justification, ignored her repeated statements that she was disabled, and denied her urgent medical care.
“January 13, on the way to my 39th appointment at Hennepin County’s Traumatic Brain Injury Center, I encountered a traffic jam caused by ICE vehicles and no signs indicating how to get around it… I had not wanted to pull into a blocked, chaotic intersection, but verbally agreed to do so… Then the glass of the passenger side window flew across my face… I was carried face down through the street by my cuffed arms and legs while yelling that I had a brain injury and was disabled.”
While Rahman’s testimony was emotionally powerful, video footage from the incident and contemporaneous accounts circulating online suggest the encounter may not have unfolded exactly as described. One widely shared post compares her sworn testimony with video showing officers issuing repeated commands and stepping away from her vehicle, appearing to expect her to leave the scene.
Democrats telling rioters to record federal agents is turning detrimental to their narrative.

“Democrats telling rioters to record federal agents is turning detrimental to their narrative.
Meet Bangladesh-American activist Aliya Rahman from Minneapolis. Rahman went in front of a congressional forum and lied through her teeth playing the victim while describing the moment she interfered with federal officers and got arrested.
She said she was monitoring traffic and couldn’t drive her vehicle because she was also watching for pedestrians, even though there were no cars or pedestrians in front of her.”
ICE has also publicly disputed Rahman’s account, stating that video evidence shows she had plenty of room to move her vehicle and chose instead to remain at the scene, impeding officers during an active enforcement operation.

“Unfortunately for the media, we have the receipts.

18 U.S.C. § 111 criminalizes impeding or interfering with federal officers.”
Rahman’s testimony also included claims that detainees were routinely referred to as “bodies” and that she was denied medical attention for more than an hour.
“I continue to hear the word ‘bodies,’ because that is how agents refer to us… ‘Where do I put them? We can’t use that room. There’s already a body in there.’… I pleaded for emergency and medical care for over an hour… It was denied.”
What is clear from the video is that Rahman remained inside an active enforcement area after being told to leave. That fact is central to ICE’s explanation for the arrest and is largely missing from her testimony.
The difference between Rahman’s account and what the footage shows raises serious questions about how the incident has been portrayed. Rather than an unprovoked assault, the video supports ICE’s claim that officers acted only after she continued to interfere with a lawful operation.
The video also highlights a familiar pattern in high-profile ICE incidents. Testimony from self-described victims is quickly accepted and spread across social media, while video evidence and official accounts are discounted or ignored. In this case, the footage does not add nuance to the narrative. It shows what actually happened.

So, when will she be arrested for contempt of (lying to) Congress?
Silly, those standards are only applied to conservatives!!
Criminals lie?! Shocking.
Oops. That was supposed to be a new comment, not a reply. Sorry.
She’s “autistic “, come on…
Is that why she sounded like a first day drama student reading her lines straight from the script?
Traffic jam caused by ICE Agents? Was blocked by nothing for a quarter mile at least. She was the blocker. That was what got her arrested. What caused her traumatic brain injury that was currently existing?
Anencephaly.
“yo commy i herd you lyke bodycams so i…”
The hero Blumenthal should give her one of her many medals for he brave actions in the face of ICE. I’m sure he has plenty to spare. As for the activist the nose ring tells me all I need to know.
I think we should demand that Blumenthal apologize and correct the record
The nose ring makes me wonder if instead of mace, we should just be issuing these guys leashes.
Also, if her brain trauma had anything to do with putting it in.
“Autism” is now a free pass to act like an asshat.
Yeah, female victim hood narrative on full display. Personal accountability much less direct consequences for their actions are kryptonite. It sets off a long litany of lies, distortions and fabrications in order to transfer all blame to others. Often this takes on some version of ‘I was confused, I was scared, I felt threatened’ to try and remove any personal agency and portray themselves as helpless. I am 99.9% certain this woman on any other day would telling you how strong, independent and fierce she is despite the ‘patriarchy’.
She can’t breath.
And yet she can’t stop talking.
Just like George Floyd.
Was watching a hospital/medical procedural a few nights ago in which one of the patients was complaining “I can’t breathe.” One of the doctors remarked (to a third party) “If she can talk, she’s breathing.” Who doesn’t know this? The jury in the Chauvin trial, that’s who.
TBH, if I was ‘king for a day’ the process for someone refusing to exit a vehicle would go like this:
1. Sir/ Ma’am I am about to give you the final lawful order to exit. If you don’t we will deploy chemical irritants and taser followed by physical force if you continue to resist/refuse lawful commands.
2. Give final lawful order to Exit the vehicle before the consequences arrive.
3. Break window, deploy pepper spray, the big canisters used for crowd control, fill the passenger compartment until it looks like early morning fog.
4. Contact EMS to get them on scene.
5. If they exit good, if not then as fog dissipates open door ordering them out. If they don’t exit taser them until they comply. 3X max. Once max reached end use of taser.
6. Drag their butt out out directly onto the ground, face down for handcuffing. If they still refuse to comply then use baton for compliance strikes until they are completely docile and submissive. EMS can’t approach to offer aid until subject is securely handcuffed.
Stop arguing with these idiots. Stop pleading with them. Give them a couple opportunities to peacefully submit to following the lawful commands and when they don’t then begin the process of using less lethal force but limit LEO having to wrestle/fight these idiots and use the nonlethal tools instead. Finally tow their vehicle and charge them for each phase they refused to follow lawful commands voice, pepper spray, taser, dragged out, baton. That’s six counts. If they still a LEO in this process that’s assault on a LEO. Run the sentences consecutively no plea bargain. Then add the cost of the tow, the impound and the cost of EMS being dispatched plus cost of getting transported by ambulance and seen at ER prior to being medically cleared for booking.
“I warned you. Twice.”

‘I was carried face down through the street by my cuffed arms and legs while yelling that I had a brain injury and was disabled.’
So they were carrying you, what’s the problemo? I wonder if her brain injury affected her testimony?
Probably as much as Biden’s affected his presidency.
Oh, who would have guessed that that communist traitor is also a liar.
I am so tired of people pretending mental health issues are a free pass.
I had a girlfriend whose brother was mentally ill. I couldn’t tell how much of his behavior was the illness and how much was volitional (as some of his behavior seemed) knowing that he could blame the behavior on his mental illness.
Congressional Democratic leaders have made universal use of body cameras one of their prime demands for imposing accountability on Immigration and Customs Enforcement, especially after federal agents fatally shot two American citizens in Minneapolis. But after an outcry from privacy advocates that surveillance tools will allow ICE agents to identify and track protesters, Democrats are also calling for restrictions on how the body cameras can be used.
Body cams for police were demanded by “civil liberties” groups for years but after they came into use the videos supported the police account the overwhelming majority of the time.
Leftists in Seattle, who didn’t raise any civil liberty concerns when police surveillance cameras went up in the city, are now concerned how they might be used by ICE to locate and arrest illegals. That’s about par for the course.
Her purported “medical appointment” must not have been important to her since she was more than willing to trade it for (in her mind) 15 minutes of fame. What a tool.
I would immediately investigate that “traumatic brain injury center”, the perp’s alleged injury, the billing for the almost 40 appointments and their necessity – especially given that Minnesota is ground zero for medical fraud.
If this chick had such brain problems that she was constantly at the traumatic brain injury center getting some sort of treatment … why is she driving a car??
Go to jail b#tch.
