Elon Musk Pours Millions Into GOP 2026 Midterm Fight

Elon Musk Pours Millions Into GOP 2026 Midterm Fight

“Federal Election Commission records show Musk has contributed roughly $42 million to political causes since last June,” Newsmax reported.

Elon Musk is once again opening his checkbook to influence American politics, pouring millions into Republican efforts to hold Congress in the 2026 midterm elections, according to new campaign finance disclosures reported by both Newsmax and Politico, despite flirting with the idea of creating a third party last year.

Politico reported that Musk “poured $10 million into two major Republican super PACs at the end of last year,” splitting the donations evenly between the Congressional Leadership Fund and the Senate Leadership Fund, “two groups that aim to help the GOP keep control of Congress this year.” The Tesla and SpaceX CEO gave $5 million to each group in December, marking his second round of contributions to both super PACs during the current election cycle.

“It was Musk’s second round of donations to both groups this cycle, having previously given in June,” Politico noted, adding that those earlier donations came “amid his feud with Trump.”

Newsmax framed the move as a clear escalation ahead of the midterms, writing that Musk is “ramping up his involvement ahead of the midterms, pouring millions of dollars into efforts aimed at helping the GOP retain control of Congress.” The outlet emphasized that despite Musk’s public comments last spring about stepping back from political spending, he has remained one of the Republican Party’s most significant financial backers.

“Federal Election Commission records show Musk has contributed roughly $42 million to political causes since last June,” Newsmax reported, including tens of millions directed to America PAC and other pro-Trump efforts.

Politico also detailed Musk’s evolving relationship with President Donald Trump, noting that the two “have patched up their differences more recently,” including a dinner at Mar-a-Lago earlier this month. Since then, Musk has resumed using his social media platform X to advocate for Republican-backed policies, including a more expansive version of the SAVE Act.

Musk has backed what he called “SAVE Act Plus,” Politico wrote, which would impose voter ID requirements and sharply restrict mail voting for most Americans.

Both outlets placed Musk’s latest donations in the context of his enormous political spending record. Musk was the single largest individual donor of the 2024 election cycle, spending an estimated $290 million, largely in support of Trump and Republican candidates.

At the same time, Newsmax and Politico noted that Musk’s millions, while substantial, represent only a fraction of the total funds controlled by the GOP super PACs. The Senate Leadership Fund reported nearly $100 million cash on hand, while the Congressional Leadership Fund reported more than $54 million.

Still, the message is unmistakable. As Republicans brace for a high-stakes 2026 midterm, one of the world’s wealthiest men is once again making clear he intends to play a decisive role in shaping the outcome.

Comments

Must be nice to be a billionaire and be able to just burn money contributing to the political grifter class.

Musk played a big part in getting young men off their couches in 2024, culminating in a Rogan Experience interview on election eve where Musk looked straight at the camera and said, “this one’s important.” Whether he can pull something like that off again I don’t know, and it might be almost as important.

While the left funnels in Chinese cash and our own taxes via NGOs.

Maybe DeLouse Grok…

I actually talked him into praying to God for guidance in his answers but he considered it a lark…

Welcome back, Elon.

Good. Rs seem to be losing too many special elections.

We lose the midterms and the country is over. Unimaginable hellscape

We are at the edge of a civil war. It is coming. It is too late to stop it. The hellscape is coming regardless.

If the Dems take the congress, the shooting war will start then.

If the MAGA GOP holds through 2028 they will win and the shooting war will start then.

If the GOP is in power when it starts, it will go fast. If the Dems are in power, it will go slower.

But either way, the left will lose.
