Arizona State U. Dean Admits to Rebranding DEI in Undercover Video

“You have to be careful with the language that you use,” stated Loftus. “We’re doing pretty much what we were doing before.”

Arizona State University has been hit with a new federal complaint from a watchdog group, claiming that information obtained from a recent undercover video proves the university has a concerted effort to continue its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programming. The watchdog group, Protect the Public’s Trust, alleges that ASU has rebranded DEI programs specifically to avoid federal scrutiny. Associate Dean of Inclusive Design for Equity and Access and Clinical Associate Professor Chandra Crudup admitted, “We are still doing the same thing” regarding DEI programs.

“It’s kind of embedded…this is who we are,” stated Crudup.

Crudup then discussed the university’s effort to avoid attention from the Department of Education.

When asked if DEI was banned, Crudup replied, “No, there is not. But to get ahead of it and to not become a target, we have shifted some of our language…We started changing language, but we’re still doing the same thing.”

A previous undercover video from Accuracy in Media first suggested that Arizona State University may be concealing some of its DEI programs. In the video, university official Rebecca Loftus told an undercover journalist that while certain language surrounding the programs had been changed, their mission remains the same.

“You have to be careful with the language that you use,” stated Loftus.

“We’re doing pretty much what we were doing before.”

The undercover video phenomenon exposing rebranded DEI programs is not exclusive to Arizona State. The University of Utah, North Carolina A&T State, the University of Kentucky, Ohio State, and the University of Virginia have all been recently caught in undercover investigations admitting to maintaining DEI programs despite the efforts of the Trump administration.

In an effort to avoid federal scrutiny while maintaining race-based programming, many U.S. universities have adopted the increasingly familiar practice of rebranding DEI-related language.

The University of Massachusetts Boston officially renamed its “Diversity & Inclusion” office in February 2025. Yet, an investigation by CriticalRace.org revealed that many of the same programs had been moved to the “Office of Public Collaboration,” which now hosts the university’s “DEI Initiatives.” These DEI initiatives include trainings, grants, and events that could fall under federal scrutiny; however, they have been reassigned to what appears to be an innocuous-sounding office.

Similar instances can be found at Eastern Washington University. On July 16, 2025, the Office for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion was renamed the Office of Employee Belonging, Development & Leadership. Yet, the office’s senior director stated, “Diversity, equity, and inclusion remain at the core of who we are.” The new office continues to offer DEI training through its “Doing the Work” workshops, celebrates Pride Month in June, and hosts a Diversity and Inclusion Week.

As the war over DEI continues to evolve at U.S. universities, the focus now appears to be on identifying and eliminating these programs, regardless of the terminology or branding changes used to disguise their true nature.

Shut them down., All of them. Now.

Cut all federal money. The left will protest but tens of millions+ are getting sick and tired of their tax dollars supporting discriminatory programs.

The Leftists have found so many ways to steal taxpayer money to further their main goal of “ fundamental change”!
It takes constant vigilance because they never stop .

Immediately claw back current funding, revoke all Federal funding for 2 years past the time they have fully complied.

This is absolutely no surprise. In fact, it was expected.

Roaches and rats always scurry away when the light is shined upon them.

I’m just glad to hear there is a watchdog group actively looking for this.

if we could just figure out a way to stop the tax funding…..

“Rebranding” interesting choice of words, given the context.

Cut off the money.
Cut off the money.
Cut off every penny of money.
