Zohran Mamdani Sworn in as New York City Mayor
Have fun, New York City.
Right after midnight, New York City became an actual socialist city.
Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani took the oath of office on the Quran to become New York City’s 112th mayor.
The Uganda-born mayor inherits a New York City still plagued by the housing crisis, as well as a struggling school system with a depleted number of students and staffing shortages in a number of agencies, including NYPD, FDNY and EMS.
Mamdani has vowed to quickly deliver on his big-ticket campaign promises such as offering universal child care, city-run grocery stores, free buses and freezing the rent — a slate of socialist freebies and other agenda items that are expected to cost more than $10 billion.
A rent freeze and delivering no-cost child care will be Mamdani’s priorities during his first year in office, he has said.
But those grand plans could be imperiled by the city facing a budget gap this fiscal year of nearly $400 million and another $6.5 billion next year, on top of potentially billions of dollars in cuts from the federal government.
Then, Mamdani appointed Ramzi Kassem as the City Hall’s chief counsel.
Yeah, um, Kassem defended Mahmoud Khalil, the anti-Israel student who had a hand in those antisemitic Columbia University protests.
Kassem also defended an al-Qaeda terrorist.
Not one of the terrorists involved in 9/11. Ahmed al-Darbi was convicted “of the bombing of a French oil tanker off the coast of Yemen in 2002.”
Are we that far removed from 9/11 that a NYC mayor would even think about appointing an al-Qaeda defense lawyer to any position in the city government?
The City Council doesn’t have to confirm City Hall’s chief counsel.
State Assemblyman Kalman Yeger, a Democrat from Brooklyn, blasted Mamdani for choosing Kassem.
“The mayor-elect probably realized he couldn’t nominate him as Corporation Counsel, as that is subject to City Council confirmation, and even the City Council doesn’t hate America that much,” said Yeger.
Don’t forget, Mamdani appointed Lillian Bonsignore as FDNY commissioner despite having no experience.
She served as EMT chief. That…that has nothing to do with fighting fires. Also, EMT is not the same as a paramedic.
Mamdani just wanted an openly gay woman to have a top spot in his administration. It’s only about diversity for these people.

Sworn in on a Korean.
Welcome to the Umma, NYC!
“Koran”, you reprobate auto-cucumber!
Which orders him to deceive and subjugate the City of New York to Islam.
Good luck New York, you wished for it.
The words “good and hard” will have special meaning now in NYC.
Just don’t come to us for the inevitable bailout.
Oh, they will. They will. I hope trump pulls a President Ford: “Drop Dead”.
🎵Drop dead!🎶
Ready for the new sitcom “Salaamfeld?”
I’m not ready for that funky bass line to be replaced by a yodeling imam.
Will it feature a soup mullah?
Now that would have been something
24 years, 3 months and 21 days after the muslims who swore allegiance to koran attack NYC, NYC swears in new muslim leader who swears allegiance to koran.
I think New York voters who voted for him should be ashamed of themselves, and I don’t want to hear any excuses about “oh, so many of them are too young to remember!”.
This goes triple for the Jews who vote for him, likely because of the “D” by his name.
1M times for the stupid Jews who voted for him. It’s clear we badly need another reminder about muslims and some culling of our gene pool.
As my shipmate from rural Georgia pointed out. Most Jews are highly intelligent,. but are not smart.
And even then he had to insulate his hand with the judge’s gavel block to evade divine retribution.
Big Tish: large & in charge!
Well, definitely large, given the size of that trunk….
That is one of Hannah Dugan’s old robes used to smuggle illegals out of the Milwaukee courthouse.
At midnight? Nope, NYC has long had socialist public policies. See rent control. They had plenty of socialist policies b/c that’s what their voters choose. Bloomberg, the last ‘GoP’ Mayor, proposed some of the same or similar policy ideas that Mamdani has; free busses and higher property taxes. What is different is the likely scale of the future policy implementation, the existing structural problems, potential loss of revenue streams as wealthy individuals flee and business relocation elsewhere. The existing commercial real estate issues of declining lease incomes, wide differences in book v actual valuation, banks eventually forced to mark those to market price, impacts on balance sheet, declining tax revenue will be exacerbated by further corporate departures. A doom loop is definitely within the realm of the possible.
and thats the problem
the right wing likes to act like this is all new
like we’ve never seen anything like it etc
so that they can then sleep better at night knowing they are not responsible for the socialists continued march to totalitarianism
when I was in school all those decades back I was a maga type
saw it when I was in my teens that the left in the usa had been winning since the beginning
Of course, Bloomberg was as GOP as Richard Levine was a woman.
Bloomberg was more like GoP adjacent but the GoP in NYC selected him as their nominee and that’s kinda the point, the NYC electorate is more comfortable with socialist policies than other areas.
Are you sure you can claim that the GOP selected him to be anything? Anywhere I’ve ever lived, anybody can register in any party and immediately run on their ticket without the party being able to do a damn thing other than be forced to run somebody against them.
The primary voters of the NYC GoP gave him a major the votes. Only something like 9 States have closed primary contests. One partial mitigation for cross over meddling is requiring a majority 50%+1 and not a plurality to determine the winner.
IMO it would be better to have closed primary contests. Require registration by party and unaffiliated. To participate in the party primary one would have had to register by 31 Dec of the year prior. Any new residents could register and participate in the primary so long as they moved and registered more than 30 days prior to the primary.
The only reason Bloomberg ran as a Republican in 2001 was that the Dem primary already had four strong candidates fighting it out among themselves, and beating all of them would have cost him a fair amount, whereas the only declared candidate on the Rep side was Herman Badillo, with a budget of about $152.79. He entered the primary and was guaranteed the win, so he didn’t bother campaigning against Badillo and started straight in campaigning for the general election instead.
However, Henry, it must be said that the GOP establishment welcomed him with open arms, and didn’t even try to support Badillo.
I am proud to have voted twice for Badillo. I got up early on the 11th and voted, then on the way home I heard about what appeared at the time to be a repeat of the time a small plane hit the Empire State Building. The primary was canceled and reheld two weeks later, and I voted for Badillo again. I never voted for Bloomberg at any of his three elections.
A message to those living in New York City:
RESIST! RESIST! RESIST!
I’d suggest the strategy of Brave Sir Robin… run away. Sell your crap, pack what’s valuable and haul ass. Don’t let sentimentality, nostalgia for bygone days or the stubborn selfishness of a relative who refuses to see what time it is determine your fate. Offer them a ride out and a place to go… if they still refuse …they are adults and it’s on them. Don’t wait until you are in the trail vehicle of the last convoy out of there.
Get out while you can!
Elections have consequences and now the fun begins . . . just wonder how long it will take before the NYC electorate realizes what complete disaster His Honor is going to be for them and the city.
as long as they get other peoples money
they will always win
Not “His Honor”, should be “Dis Honor”.
Hizzoner (may bees pee upon him).
The Land of Taqiyyaa. Don’t believe your ears.
Eyes, ears and nose!
Free child care or somali day care scam version 2.0 ?
As I remind everybody, Death Wish came out in 1974. That was essentially a PSA that EVERYBODY knew that New York City was a horrific, crime-infested, gang-run craphole, that the police and government were worse than useless, and the people wanted it changed.
And it still took them TWENTY MORE YEARS to BARELY elect Giuliani.
They can enjoy Mamdani and getting EXACTLY what they voted for.
I’m going to sit back and laugh at them.
Will they start broadcasting the adhan citywide? That would deliver a wakeup call the denizens of NYC.
no wakeup call
the fear that is the foundation of communistnazi regimes will keep the denizens in line
If they DO broadcast it, will it be mistaken for a Yoko Ono song?
dont forget
free always looks good at first
but what happens when those gov workers demand mo money and when those who supply the goods need to raise prices etc
sure the maga will be blamed …nothing new there
so once again
socialism will win b/c the forces to stop them …gop..are too afraid to do so
thats how we got here in the first place
this affects all of america
this is the political version of the 9 11 physical attacks
hitlermao etc always start in one place but the dots are soon connected
Yes, but it won”t stop here. Mamdani’s the most popular democrat in America. If the democrat’s presidential primary includes: Mamdani, Newsom, and Harris—which one, with Allah’s help, do you think will win?
But you say, “He was born in Uganda, he’s not eligible”. Neither was Obama. In any case, Mamdani will be seeking higher office, perhaps the senate. Or, with Allah’s help, he will end up on the supreme court.
Then later today da mayor is having his block party where he’ll be anointed (maybe he’ll reenact his swearing in) with AOC and the old commie, Bernie in the Canyon of Heroes. Of course this is close to the 9/11 grounds; how fitting. How horrible.
Maybe he will make the 9/11 memorial site “Mecca West….”
Or spread 9/11 to cities near you.
The minarets will appear on World Trade Center soon.
NYC might as well have erected a masjid on the site of 9/11
Break out the whips and chains and let the sideshow begins.
Can I now write about the slide of the US towards the dark ages without people getting their panties in a knot??
It’s all Bush 2 fault, his insane war in Iraq, opening the flood gates to the western world of tens of millions of Muslims intent on our very destruction
Partial list of interactions between US and Muslim World (Recent)
– 9/11
– Saudi Tower explosion
– Lebanon marine barracks Bombing
– Somali Black hawk down
– First Iraq War
– Western Support for Israel Wars (48, 67, 73)
– Western vetos in UN.
– 1958 US invasion of Lebanon
– Overthrow of Iranian government in 1953
These are prior to Iraq 2 and off the top of my head. For good or will the US and the West has been involved in the middle east and with Muslims for a long time. There has been constant immigration from the middle east to here especially from Lebanon, Somalia, the so-called Palestinians, and lately Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. Germany invited 10 million Turks in to come and work. Europe as a whole has been flooded.
Iraq War 2 isn’t responsible for this flood. This flood is purposeful. Libya’s Ghaddafi threatened it. There are now 1.5B muslims world wide and they are everywhere. They continue to state they want the entire world to be Muslim, I believe them. This essentially will mean the destruction of Western culture and subordination of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and others who refuse to submit,
It was the communist-supported Mosaddegh who overthrew the Shah. The CIA’s role was in helping the Shah’s successful propaganda campaign to persuade the people to bring him back. That was not a coup, it was a restoration.
Not-too-bright is the new standard.
I recommend a fleet of free short busses for transit.
Electric powered of course.
I recommend Somalis move from Minnesota to NYC and open day care centers.
No joking. They see a huge fraud opportunity waiting to be seized.
The horror
The horror
There is some irony that New York City, losing population and employers by the thousands, swears in the new
imammayor in a subway station that is closed – and has been closed – for decades.Remember all that free housing he promised?
There it is!
If the new imam mayor swears “so help me Allah”, will Allah” help him?
An articulate conservative should begin his/her campaign for NYC mayor RIGHT NOW.
Every Marxist move Mamdani makes should be exposed, with an explanation as to why it is wrong.
She served for 31 years in the FDNY. FDNY runs the ambulances, and most of the calls it fields are for EMTs, not firefighters.
You’re not a Democrat.
Suuuuuure.
That’s right, I’m not a Democrat. As you well know, you filthy liar.
The only time I’ve ever voted for a Democrat was when Bill Thompson ran for mayor of NYC against Bloomberg. For a Democrat, Thompson was not terrible.
The FDNY responds to over 600,000 fire suppression calls a year. They also have 11,000 firefighters as opposed to 4500 EMS, EMTs and paramedics.
You’d think firefighting knowledge would be required. But apparently not.
January 2nd, the day after the “inauguration party” where Zo announced the end of “rugged indivdualism” (the cornerstone of America’s success) in favor of the “warmth of collectivism” (the communist state is really warm and fuzzy you know). The unwashed present for the “party” went wild but how many of them know what collectivism means? Very few. AOC went on to berate the “privileged” (overlooking her own privilege) and Bernie threatened the “billionaires” (overlooking his own millions, but then a millionaire is not a billionaire…). May the Zo chemistry experiment go up in smoke, fast.
