Trump, Walz Have a ‘Very Good Call’ Regarding Minnesota Violence

Trump, Walz Have a ‘Very Good Call’ Regarding Minnesota Violence

Trump: “[Walz] is happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I!”

President Donald Trump announced that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz reached out to him regarding the violence in Minnesota.

Trump said they had a “very good call” and agreed to cooperate. The president already said he is sending Border Czar Tom Homan to Minnesota, and that Homan will report directly to Trump, not anyone in DHS.

It’s AMAZING what happens when you talk through the situation instead of slinging insults and hyperbole.

Walz released more details about the call:

Governor Walz had a productive call with President Trump earlier today. The Governor made the case that we need impartial investigations of the Minneapolis shootings involving federal agents, and that we need to reduce the number of federal agents in Minnesota. The President agreed that he would talk to his Department of Homeland Security about ensuring the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is able to conduct an independent investigation, as would ordinarily be the case. The President also agreed to look into reducing the number of federal agents in Minnesota and working with the state in a more coordinated fashion on immigration enforcement regarding violent criminals.

The Governor reminded President Trump that the Minnesota Department of Corrections already honors federal detainers by notifying Immigration and Customs Enforcement when a person committed to its custody isn’t a U.S. citizen. There is not a single documented case of the department’s releasing someone from state prison without offering to ensure a smooth transfer of custody.

The response also strengthens the posts put out by Erick Erickson and Bill Melugin, revealing that people within DHS and the White House are not happy with DHS leadership, especially with the killing of ICU nurse Alex Pretti.

The DHS response has been horrid in this case, especially DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and FBI Director Kash Patel slamming gun owners.

I’ll tell you this. Even if I wasn’t protesting in Minneapolis, I would be carrying my gun with me at all times because who knows what will happen where and when.

Lt. Governor Flanagan still barking orders over Signal. Walz has no answers to Somali fraud and apparently doesn’t need to have them.

I’m glad they had a nice phone call and Pam Bondi is still writing angry letters. Action is necessary.

We had an invasion. Tens of millions of people. This was never going to be antiseptic. Anyone that believed it would be, was sniffing unicorn dust.

I could not care less about 2 deaths in Minnesota. Lake in Riley on the other hand, had her skull bashed in and suffered for about 20 minutes according to the audio.

How much pain was she in for how long from an illegal alien? How much fear did she feel — and she didn’t try to interfere with anybody she was just living her life, not harming a soul.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Close The Fed. | January 26, 2026 at 3:05 pm

This is not to mention the tens if not hundreds of those killed or injured in traffic wrecks (not “accidents”) at the hands of intoxicated third world trash.

Correct. But just as black lives don’t matter if they’re taken by other blacks, the only tragedies happen if the media calls them tragedies. Otherwise, they’re just business as usual.

“The response also strengthens the posts put out by Erick Erickson and Bill Melugin, revealing that people within DHS and the White House are not happy with DHS leadership, especially with the killing of ICU nurse Alex Pretti.”

You don’t say.

I avoided being shot to death by law enforcement today by using this one weird trick…

The White House can be as angry as they want to be but until it’s plain that the forces of darkness aren’t going away peacefully (Tampon Timmy’s phone call to the White House notwithstanding) the bodies of useful idiots will continue to pile up.

I wonder if these same unnamed “people” at DHS expressed similar concern about the assassinations of Ashli Babbitt and Roseanne Boyland. Or the mass murders by government agents at Waco and Ruby Ridge. Or the thousands of people who have had their lives destroyed by illegals the terrorist regime in Minnesota is protecting.

Anyone who claims Babbitt’s killing wasn’t a murder has no moral authority to declare the deaths of Good and Pretti “murder.”

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to DaveGinOly. | January 26, 2026 at 3:25 pm

Notice how the defund-the-police crowd are so quiet about Babbitt. I guess it depends on WHICH person is summarily gunned down by a cop as to whether or not they speak up.

ztakddot in reply to DaveGinOly. | January 26, 2026 at 3:37 pm

Why hasn’t that useless DIE moron been fired. He has since been promoted to captain which is an insult added to an injury. The Speaker of the House is a Repub and I thought that office controlled the capital police or am I wrong.

Until jail doors go *clang* it’s just political theater. Walz, Flanagan, Frey, Ellison and others need to be charges, arrested and tried.

they think they are lulling trump into a(nother) trap

but if allowed,, he will take charge and save the good people of mn

while lefty continues to bathe in their own misery

“Trump and Walz have a good call regarding violence”

How can you have a good call regarding violence?

> Even if I wasn’t protesting in Minneapolis, I would be carrying my gun with me at all times because who knows what will happen where and when.

Hopefully your CCW training taught you that part of carrying a gun is avoiding certain situations to begin with.

Exactly. Being ‘dead right’ has no future.

TopSecret in reply to dawgfan. | January 26, 2026 at 2:24 pm

That guy Border Patrol shot in Minneapolis apparently forgot that part of his CCW class. Most CCW instructors say something like “if you go looking for trouble, you’ll find it” and he certainly did.

Showing up for confrontation with the Feds and you are illegally possessing a firearm since you left your ID and CCW permit at home…. Darwin Mini-Award. Minn AG was part of 24 state AG denouncement of a bringing a firearm to a “sensitive” political demonstration. But… it’s different when they do it.

destroycommunism in reply to dawgfan. | January 26, 2026 at 2:28 pm

true but you could get caught

ok you’re not going through a bad neighborhood,,nor looking for trouble

you’re on the highway and there is a traffic jam…car crash..protestors>>rioters

you would be glad to have your weapon and pray to not have to use it

DSHornet in reply to dawgfan. | January 26, 2026 at 3:48 pm

There’s an easy way to avoid getting shot by LEOs who are trying to manage a riot: Don’t be there openly packing heat. We’ll never know why Pretti did that.

    FOTborn1943 in reply to dawgfan. | January 27, 2026 at 8:48 am

    Death by cop!

They can have as many nice calls as they want BUT until Democrats get other willingly call off their rioters or are forced off the streets then nothing stops!

Yeah, bad luck dead male nurse guy but you fuck about enough and eventually you WILL find out. The guy would still be alive today IF;

Democrats hadn’t incited him to riot, and
He hadn’t been fooled in to believing he was untouchable as a Democrat rioter.

Sucked in by those anonymous sources, huh, Mary. Responsible gun owners don’t show up at a riot and interfere with law enforcement.

CommoChief in reply to BigDaveLA. | January 26, 2026 at 2:30 pm

Yep. Daily carry? No problem. Exercising 1A right to peaceably assemble? No problem. Bring your firearm to the peaceable assembly? No problem.

Alternatively, bringing your firearm along in your self imposed quest/cosplay mission of misplaced virtue signalling to confront Federal LEO, impede their operation, refuse their lawful commands, put hands on the Federal LEO, then resist w/ violence in a physical struggle with Federal LEO attempting to avoid detention…. None of those are good ideas and taken together create a big problem.

DaveGinOly in reply to CommoChief. | January 26, 2026 at 2:48 pm

The fact is Pretti wasn’t legally carrying. He wasn’t carrying his photo ID (as required) and he wasn’t carrying for lawful purposes. (This latter I’m sure is used to allow otherwise legal carriers to face gun crime charges if they commit crimes while carrying.

Funny thing. This morning, Bob Ferguson, WA State’s governor, said Pretti was exercising his rights. Yet Dems here recently made it illegal to carry firearms openly at “permitted” protests or to carry them within a certain distance of same. I guess Pretti had more rights in MN than I do here. But my governor is only interested in defending the rights of gun owners in other States.

CommoChief in reply to DaveGinOly. | January 26, 2026 at 6:21 pm

Indeed he wasn’t. Without his ‘permission slip’ to exercise his 2A rights in MN and a State ID to confirm identity that’s another problem. Of course as soon as he committed any other offense while carrying that compounds the illegality of his actions.

The d/prog leftist/wokiesta narrative formation is gonna be to cloud the 2A conduct in a similar way they try to do with 1A. In essence claiming he was simply exercising his 1A and 2A rights as opposed to what really happened. The 1A protects ‘peaceable assembly’ not ‘protests’; neither ‘mostly peaceful but fiery’ nor truly peaceful but still illegal like passively sitting down on a roadway to impede traffic and free movement of others.

Absolutely gonna be some ironic statements coming from anti gun politicians and groups given the number of obstacles to 2A rights they’ve put into place. Here in Bama we have finally gotten Constitutional Carry for open carry across the finish line despite the best efforts of anti gun politicians and a number of histrionic Sheriffs in blue Counties and big city Police Chiefs predicting doom and gloom….for the record crime went down in the first full year after passage.

And tomorrow Walz will go back to pushing for military action against ICE.

My guess is that Walz, by reaching out to Trump, is now in trouble with the dead-ender TDS fanatic Bolshevik wing of the DFL. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an internal civil war within the DFL break out or even Walz deposed in a palace coup. Stay tuned.

“Even if I wasn’t protesting in Minneapolis, I would be carrying my gun with me at all times because who knows what will happen where and when.”

Sure, a gun and 40 rounds of spare ammo in extended magazines.

I always carry two 17-round spare mags to go with the 17-round mag in the gun (which carries an additional chambered round). I live in a very Blue area, and these feral types travel and operate in packs, so being ready for bear is smart. (Although when I’m carrying for defense against actual bear, I carry a .44 magnum revolver, with a significantly reduced total ammo load. I reckon the possibility of getting into a firefight with a bear is exceedingly low.)

Most people who carry a gun carry a spare magazine. Sigs are sold with 20-round magazines depending on the SKU and heavy winter clothing allows for concealing them. That was probably his regular winter carry gun when he wasn’t at the hospital. He was looking for trouble, absolutely, but the gun he chose to bring is not abnormal.

DaveGinOly in reply to TopSecret. | January 26, 2026 at 10:59 pm

I hate the term “dangerous and unusual” when applied to firearms. All firearms are dangerous. Their utility is found in their ability to harm and kill. I’m not sure what an “unusual” firearm might be, except one that isn’t dangerous. All other firearms spit lead, and may or may not self-load by one mechanical principle or contrivance or another. The details don’t usually mean anything to the person on the receiving end.

There is a full blown organized insurrection occurring in this country by progressives including judges, prosecutors, and elected officials at every level who mouth platitudes about democracy but refuse to accept the results of an election and are bound and determined to have their way no matter what. This is devolved into organized violence against the federal government and its agents. Make no mistake about that.

This is accompanied by flat out invasion and subversion by at least 1 million chinese and 10-20 million illegal aliens most of them Mexican who will never assimilate or give their allegiance to this country and take their marching orders from foreign countries. This is war by other means and we should respond accordingly if we can ever get our own internal house in order.

Something tells me that President Trump is not going to get the kind of cooperation that he’s looking for no matter what Walz said. What the need to is ramp up operations, not back off of them. If they allow themselves to be driven out, this will become the blueprint for the traitors everywhere.

MN can easily end the surge of ICE personnel into MN if they will simply honor the detainer issued by ICE to allow them to pick up the illegal aliens the State/local LEO have arrested and have in custody in the secure and Mich safer environment of the jails. MN should definitely do that along with telling the leftist/wokiestas to stop harassment/interference with ICE and then just enforcing basic laws like traffic laws when the ‘anti ICE’ goons run lights or speed or stalk Federal LEO. Then come to set up a cordon to keep the mob off Federal LEO. Small asks, little things, all common sense, not at all unreasonable and none of which have the State/local govt acting in concert with ICE.

That doesn’t mean ICE isn’t gonna still conduct workplace enforcement or look for criminal illegal aliens previously turned loose on the streets. There’s no room for the woke mob to create much less win a nullification crisis. They can’t be allowed to be perceived as having driven ICE out of Minneapolis and ended the legitimate efforts to deport illegal aliens.

DaveGinOly in reply to CommoChief. | January 26, 2026 at 2:58 pm

The “surge” was basically a response to put enough agents into the area to enable ICE to defend itself while conducting its missions, State and local LE agencies (you know, the ones who have the training in crowd control the Dems are complaining ICE doesn’t have) having officially “refused the call.”

CommoChief in reply to DaveGinOly. | January 26, 2026 at 6:32 pm

Exactly so. When the local/State LEO cooperate to:
      1. Hand over illegal aliens in jails
      2. Show up to handle crowds interfering with ICE
      3. Enforce traffic and other laws to prevent packs of ‘ICE Watch’ goons stalking/following ICE around.

And the biggie … The lefty political leadership getting on TV to tell the public they have been mislead, that enforcement of Federal laws is gonna happen, that impeding Federal LEO operations is a crime, that they need to stay back a safe distance to monitor/record that injecting themselves into an operation is not ‘peaceable assembly’ or lawful protest and that State and Local LEO will assist in their arrest, that the local DAs and State AG will prosecute their unlawful actions that any State or local employees/contractors will be terminated and that out of State arrestees will be turned over to the DoJ ….then we’ll get some meaningful change.

Oh Tim,

When you’re feeling sad and lonely.
There’s a service I can render.
I can be so warm and tender.

Call me. Don’t be afraid you can call me.
Call me and I’ll be around

I love you so much, Tim.

Donnie xxxooo

I imagine the call may have gone something like this:
“Insurrection Act in ten, nine, eight…”

    nope. Not necessary.

Here’s what I speculate is going on. There are apparently so catches that ICE can keep the planes full even in the wake of this chaos. All kiddy diddlers, rapists and murders.

Why burden yourself with the administrative nightmare when the ICE pipeline to exit is running at capacity?

Yes it’s messy from our view, but I’m also gonna speculate that the guys on the ground are serious pipe hitting mofus who quite enjoy the action and Karen punching allows them to let off steam.

Question: How is ICE doing at handling the dingbats?

    I’d say Pretti Good.

Minnesota politicians are all behaving like cornered rats because of this Somali fraud so they are not likely to suddenly start behaving when it comes to immigration enforcement.

Andrew Branca has a good take on it. Officer had a justified shoot. He has been here before. posting and discussions.

DaveGinOly in reply to MarkSmith. | January 26, 2026 at 3:46 pm

Some are making a big deal about the ICE officer who fired the shot asking (after firing the shots), “Where’s the gun?” I think this will actually exonerate him. Whether or not this was a good shoot may balance on whether or not the officer knew the subject had already been disarmed. The fact he asked “Where’s the gun?” indicates he never saw the gun, meaning he didn’t know that the subject had been disarmed (because he not only didn’t see the gun in the subject’s possession, but he also didn’t see the gun in possession of another ICE officer).

JackinSilverSpring in reply to DaveGinOly. | January 26, 2026 at 4:44 pm

Keep in mind that there was an ongoing violent demonstration with lots of noise. Most likely, there was a breakdown in communication because the agents may not have heard that Pretti had been disarmed. Then, couple that with a defective firearm that can spontaneously go off. In the chaos, pandemonium, and noise, the agents cannot be faulted for taking out Pretti.

Totality of the circumstances. IMO a good.shoot in the lawful but awful category. Some of these leftist/wokiestas don’t seem to comprehend how inherently dangerous their actions are or the serous risks they are taking. They seem to believe not only are they the ‘virtuous good guys’ but that they have plot armor in the script they’ve written in their head about how these encounters will play out. Very similar to the prior shooting of the driver in this respect. They act like this is a damn video game or there’s some sort of automatic immunity from any consequences for their behavior. They inject chaos, noise, whistles, yelling, screaming, banging on trash cans and rush up onto the ICE agents, put hands on them and somehow don’t seem to grasp that they could be injured or killed. Its a game to them and their over the top reaction shows it.

DaveGinOly in reply to CommoChief. | January 26, 2026 at 11:02 pm

“So much of left-wing thought is a kind of playing with fire by people who don’t even know that fire is hot.”
          George Orwell

Word smithing chicanery at its finest.

“We hand over everyone in our custody to ICE”….that’s not the root of the problem.

The root of the problem is that you don’t let ICE do their job to apprehend the ones not in your custody AND you don’t do your own job to apprehend the people that should be in your custody (both foreign and domestic).

where was ashli babbits gun when leo murdered her and the dems and gop kept the leo id hidden

man,, that is immunity at a very very high level

that leo didnt protect anyone from any danger from babbit as she posed no danger to anyone

freespeechfanatic | January 27, 2026 at 8:53 am

So we’re legitimizing the Left instead of fight them. Brilliant. I’m so delighted he had a “good call” with the man he rightly called “retarded” a few weeks ago. God save us.

The fact that Pretti was armed, in a normal fashion for one going about his business in a dangerous city, is in itself irrelevant. So’s the fact that he wasn’t carrying his permission slip from the government; the law requiring that shouldn’t exist.

The relevant point is that when he chose to commit a crime by interfering with and obstructing an arrest, and then another crime by resisting arrest, the fact that he was armed automatically raised the stakes.

There are two consequences:

1. Committing a crime while armed is itself a crime, or perhaps it’s an enhancement on the original crime. I forget which.

2. The fact that he was armed while resisting arrest automatically made the situation more risky for the police, and thus for him. They were right to be on heightened alert, and on a hair trigger, once they learned that he was armed, even though he had every right to be.

What needs to be determined is whether the cop who shot him knew that another cop had already removed the guy’s gun. Just because we know this doesn’t mean he did. It also needs to be determined whether he was worried there might be a second gun.

Was the “call” AFTER the Higby exposure of the Conspiracy within Walz’ inner circle? Maybe PRESIDENT TRUMP laid out some of the EVIDENCE that the MN LT. Governor is highly involved and maybe Timpon is as well – AND his highly excitable daughter? All these “reports” on who said what and what was said are to be valued as much as a comment by the “aoc” or Schumer!

Capitalist-Dad | January 27, 2026 at 9:26 am

Whatever “solution” President Trump thinks he is negotiating, it better not look like a reward to Demtard street thugs or the bottom feeding MN “leaders” inciting riots and denigrating ICE agents who are simply enforcing laws Democrats helped pass. Any concessions to Democrat Red Guard rioting will prompt more of it. That’s the way the despicable Commie Democrats roll.
