The Key Reason Democrats Stop at Nothing to Block Deportations

The Key Reason Democrats Stop at Nothing to Block Deportations

“[Democrats’] ability to continue winning elections is at stake without them [illegal aliens] and they’ll burn down the country to keep them here.”

In a recent interview with Fox News, former ICE Acting Director Jonathan Fahey said that “Democrats fight each deportation as if it’s a Democratic vote.” Rarely have truer words been uttered.

The American Redistricting Project, a nonprofit group focused on “constitutional redistricting, and election transparency,” published its 2030 Apportionment Forecast on Tuesday — and what it revealed was remarkable.

Based on the Census Bureau’s July 1, 2025, population estimate — released Tuesday morning — the ARP apportionment map shows California losing four congressional seats. Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin would each lose one seat, for a total of 11 seats lost among blue states.

Meanwhile, the map shows red and purple states gaining those same 11 seats. Texas would pick up four new districts, Florida would gain two, and Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, North Carolina, and Utah would each gain one.

[Methodology: ARP applied a three-year weighted average growth rate to the July 1, 2025, population estimates to produce the forecast.]

Independent journalist Greg Price attached the ARP map to a post on X and noted:

Under this forecast, President Trump would have won the 2024 Electoral College 322-216. And even if Kamala had won PA, WI, and MI — President Trump still would have won 280-258.

This [is] the one and only reason Democrats are fighting so hard to stop illegals from being deported.

Their ability to continue winning elections is at stake without them and they’ll burn down the country to keep them here.

An ARP news release lists the districts that would be most affected.

This data is terrible news for Democrats made worse by the fact that the migration of residents from blue states to red or purple states shows no signs of slowing.

According to data released by the National Taxpayers Union Foundation two months ago, every 1 minute and 44 seconds, a taxpayer leaves California. For New York and Illinois, the times are 2 minutes and 23 seconds and 6 minutes and 4 seconds, respectively. These states are hemorrhaging residents.

Moreover, another taxpayer leaves Washington state every 29 minutes and 55 seconds. Despite the absence of a state income tax for now (although one has been proposed), residents are voting with their feet, fleeing the Evergreen State’s steadily expanding tax and regulatory burden. Perhaps they’re also reacting to the openly socialist mayor Seattle voters chose to elect in November.

These taxpayers are relocating to states with far more hospitable tax and regulatory climates — such as Florida, Texas, and North Carolina — which welcome a new resident every 2 minutes and 9 seconds, 2 minutes and 53 seconds, and 6 minutes and 21 seconds, respectively.

A news release accompanying the data noted, “In short, interstate movement isn’t just a series of arrows in different directions, it’s proof that Americans want lower taxes and limited government — and you can measure it with your watch.”

Perhaps Americans also looking for some sanity and honesty from their public servants.

If I were a Minnesota resident right now, I’d be strongly considering selling my home — and it’s hard to believe many others aren’t doing the same.

State and local leaders are currently locked in a desperate fight with the federal government to stop them from deporting illegal aliens — even those who have committed serious crimes. Although any reasonable person would celebrate the removal of criminals from their city or state, Democrats in Minnesota, as well as the outside agitators who have converged upon the state in the last month, are fighting tooth and nail to keep them there.

Why? Because Jonathan Fahey was right when he said, “Democrats fight each deportation as if it’s a Democratic vote.” Because, at least in the blue states that don’t require photo identification at the ballot box, that’s a true statement.

It’s not the key reason, it’s the only reason. If apportionment was based on head count of citizens instead of people, Democrats wouldn’t give two excrements about “migrants seeking asylum” or “children in cages”.

    George S:

There’s another huge second reason: The massive amounts of taxpayer dollars poured into these illegals is an enormous slush fund for the Dem-wing. They directly siphon off billions into their own pockets, and then also accept the campaign donations from the illegal’s organizations, who cough it up in order to maintain the various fraud schemes. One hand money-launders the other.

Why do you think that Walz, Keith Muhammed X. Ellison, and Omar are so terrified of campaign fraud (and just plain monetary fraud) that they’re ginning up these riots? They’re all interconnected with the fraud (remember that Ellison hand-picked Elmi/Omar for his US House seat) and so they’ve settled on more riots, property destruction and bloodshed of their expendables as a distraction.

Ding. Ding! DING. You are correct, sir. It’s the 1st rule of politics: SHOW ME THE MONEY.

The 2nd rule is ‘Win – by any means necessary’ (George’s post).

The 3rd rule is ‘Rule with an iron fist. Reward your friends, punish your enemies; That which is not forbidden is permitted; It’s better to ask forgiveness than permission; demonize, criminalize, ostracize your enemies so they can never obtain power ever again.’

The democrats have perfected this to an art form. They live & breath it.

The GOP whimpers in the corner, ‘Can’t we just get along?’

It’s why so many young men (20-30 y.o) are so radicalized against this current system, and embrace anarchy or far right ideologies as a means to burn it all down, hang all the traitors, and build new.

Unfortunately apportionment of CD AMONG the States is based on # of persons. That said Congress could require each CD WITHIN each State after that apportionment to have a roughly equal number of Citizens say +/- 10%.. This requirement would upend a good deal of shenanigans in how CD are drawn b/c this factor would become predominate and to meet it would foil much of the current gamesmanship.

Are you a countable person if you are not a member of The People?

It is an interesting argument that only eligible citizens of voting age should count.

I’ve half heartedly made the same argument. A ‘person’ in the constitution would logically seem to be a member of the sub group of humanity ‘We the People’ aka Citizens. There’s some places where the different term resident is employed and that’s not interchangeable with person. There’s other portions where no demographic group is employed. In the 3rd amendment quartering Soldiers in a home isn’t allowed except during time of War or with permission of the Owner. There’s a case from the early ’80s that extended (incorrectly IMO) the consent requirement to include a tenant.

What’s really happening is the collision of lots of drift in how statutes/constitution is interpreted and applied away from the original text/origin that the Judiciary has engaged in for a long time with 21st century on the ground reality.

Immigration enforcement is an easy example. Until recently no one imagined that State/Local gov’t would not just refuse to hand over illegal aliens in their custody to the Feds but to refuse to come to the aid of Federal LEO or refuse to enforce normal laws to prohibit mobs stalking and harassing Federal LEO.

IMO either we get back to a common sense traditional view or we gotta have a ‘divorce’ from the blue areas. We can’t maintain a ‘marriage’ with them when their actions and basic beliefs are.diametrically opposed to our own. Far better to go our separate ways than a continuous tit for tat after each election temporarily puts red or blue in charge that escalates tensions, stokes resentment, desire for retribution and ultimately leads to violence and potentially a dang civil war.

I believe the Trump administration is right to want to enforce immigration law; that government agencies may overstep their bounds; and that there are very good reasons why every country has some sort of law or policy on who gets in and gets to stay.

I have worked in the immigration system as a consular officer. Before that, I taught English in another country and lived under their laws, married there, and petitioned for an alien spouse to immigrate. Since being RIFfed, I’ve gone back to teaching ESOL (after adding a Ph.D. in Pol. Sci.). I also live in a community with lots of foreign-born folk in whom ICE seems totally uninterested (perhaps because they’re either naturalized citizens, green card holders, or screened-in asylum seekers). I think I understand the immigration system from lots of angles.
When it comes to “kids in cages”, I understand well the problem of unaccompanied minors and that if a child picked up in the desert with a “mami” and “papi” about whom he knows nothing, it will be a huge red flag for any Border Patrol or immigration agent whose been warned to be on the lookout for human trafficking. In such cases, “family separation” is warranted. However, I also believe that if it looks like a legitimate family group, they should be kept together while awaiting a hearing, or, if waiving a hearing, deportation.

I hadnt realised just how rotten voting was in California until last year! Now its no wonder the State is a democratic shit hole and unfortunately for sane people, Democrats can see the benefits to power retention when they allow EVERYONE to vote (regardless of whether they are citizens, illegal aliens or even alive).

Between this and rampant election fraud (electronic voting, trucks full of ballots, delayed tabulation, etc.) I don’t think the D’s would hold many offices at all. My senator’s ascent to office was more of a coronation by acclimation than an election. To this day I have no idea how she would have won that office legitimately.

Beyond raw political power, removing illegal aliens is a large part of the answer to a great many problems. Imagine the USA without 25 million ish illegal aliens and what impact that would have on a few areas of life:
1. Basic rule of law
2. Court docket
3. Prison costs
4. # of victims of crime
5. Costs of K-12
6. Labor market/wages
7. Real estate purchase price
8. Rental prices for housing
9. Costs to local/State gov’t for basic services
10. Costs and availability of healthcare/providers/ER

Murphy’s Law will impact all of the above points:

“If anything can go wrong, it will go wrong,” that is to say, situations will unfold in the worst possible way and will turn out to be much worse than expected.

Maybe. Given the power of a Thanos snap to send all 25 million ish illegal aliens back home I’d still do it and willingly accept the downside b/c the upside far outweighs them.

The Census’s counting of illegal aliens, for the purposes of calculating congressional seat apportionment, has always been irrational, inequitable and indefensible; not only diminishing and diluting the lawfully earned political power of “red” states in the House of Representatives, but, expanding the political power of “blue” states significantly beyond what apportionment based solely upon a tally of U.S. citizens would have fairly produced.

The GOP should have challenged the legality of this conceit, decades ago.

Counting “persons” rather than “citizens” is a force-multiplier of the citizens’ voting power. Without an increase in the number of citizens and with the addition of non-citizens, those citizens (same number of voters) increase their representation in Congress without having to produce more actual votes. This is, in effect, an increase in the political power of those citizens with respect to the political power of citizens in States that don’t have large non-citizen populations.

The key reason: They want to “stop” Trump as in de-stabilize, overturn his presidency, stall his second term (Russia Russia Russia style using ICE Out) or worse….What is unfolding is anarchy in its early stage: mass protests across the country flaunting federal law enforcement using ICE deportations as the excuse. Deportations have nothing to do with it, anarchy is everything to do with it. Trump is in an extremely difficult position, but he might want to call an insurrection an insurrection at this point.

I vote to exclude MN from the federal union, along with any other state that favors lawbreaking immigration while punishing immigrants that arrived on these shores 300 years ago and built this great country from nothing.
Where are the vast native cities with infrastructure? The Irish immigrant didn’t tear them down.

Ok, US LEO is not working so well against insurrection.
Send in the IRS.

Tells you everything you need to know about democrats and their left wing mentality. They just want to remain in power and push their will on the rest of us.

They are interested in having power, not winning elections. You win elections by gaining the voter’s trust. But in left wing ideology, voters are dumb; they don’t know what is best for them so they need to be rescued, saved from themselves by those who know better.
So expect more lying and cheating.

    In some states, permanently more.

its the vote counters

thats why lefty continues its assault on one person one vote

the rank choice voting ( oh look it saves us money,,they claim,,but it 100% costs us freedom) is just another example

the give them drivers license b/c that will make them better drivers,, the lefty claimed,,when of course it was so illegals could get that voting card

until/unless we reign in the mail in ballot scheme where accountability was done better at Enron

we are doomed

where dems are “suppose to win” they will win b/c no one would imagine otherwise

and where gop should win,,,,well,,,msm takes care of the propaganda for the left so we get messed up there too

C’mon, you’re already gonna get hit with battery at minimum so why not use something more vigorous?

If she got attacked then she might actually begin to understand what it’s like to be a conservative living in a Democrat shit hole. Given who the democrats are it wouldnt surprise me if this was staged.

Also, its funny that after Charlie Kirk was murdered that she didnt have the same reaction to that attack. Turns out, some attacks are more welcome than others.

Clearly not a reader of James Lileks . . .

I still think a key reason is to break the anti-globalist character of America. If you can erase our borders, and get the people to accept it, then you can finally leverage America’s power behind globalism and create that utopia the Davos set wants.

Which is why not just the illegals need to go. We need the UN to leave and we need to remove the power of the Davos elite. But kicking out the illegal aliens is a big part of that.

Biggest industries in CA aren’t silicon valley and hollywood. They are agriculture and tourism. CA needs illegal aliens to pick the crops, and clean the hotel rooms.

Yes indeed. Workplace enforcement is the biggie. I get the reluctance of the WH, and Trump himself to kick over that rock in the hospitality sector and agricultural sectors. Lots of stiff resistance from lefty unions and the usual suspects plus resistance from the ‘right’ by the faux libertarian globalists (really they are corporatists) big donors who all have vested interest in cheaper labor.
