Homan in Minnesota: ‘We are Not Surrendering Our Mission at All’

AG Ellison told Homan “that county jails may notify ICE of the release dates of criminal public safety risks so ICE can take custody of them upon the release from the jail.”

Border Czar Tom Homan held an impressive press conference in Minnesota, stating that ICE is not leaving and that everyone will perform better.

“We are not surrendering our mission at all,” Homan told the press. “We are just doing it smarter.”

Homan confirmed that Attorney General Keith Ellison clarified that county jails will notify ICE when officials catch criminal illegal aliens and their release dates:

I’m also pleased to announce I had a very good meeting with Attorney General Ellison, and he has clarified for me that county jails may notify ICE of the release dates of criminal public safety risks so ICE can take custody of them upon the release from the jail.

And let me tell you why that’s important. I know people are concerned about the the manpower that’s been set by law enforcement manpower. Look, I’ve said this many times before. I’ve said it for the last several years. Give us access to the illegal alien, public safety threat and the safety and security of a jail. It’s common sense. It’s safer for the community. It’s safer for the agent, and they’re safer for the alien, because anything can happen on street arrest.

It just make common sense, and for the people that argue, “Well, we’re a welcoming community because we want victims and witnesses of a crime that are here illegally to feel safe, to come to police without fear that they’re working with ICE.”

We’re not going to talk to the victim witness of the crime. There’s no problem there. They should feel safe to come to police and ask for help.

All we want is to talk to the person that local and state law enforcement authorities locked in a jail cell. They chose to lock this person up. That’s who we want to talk to, to the public safety threat. So the argument is that it protects victim witnesses of crime. It’s bunch of crap.

One journalist asked Homan to clarify the government’s priorities.

Homan stressed that criminal illegal aliens are the priority, but illegal aliens with no records are not off the table.

“Now, all operations will be targeted, but the prioritization is going to be criminal aliens, public safety threats, and national security threats,” reiterated Homan. “We got a lot of we got a lot of them keep us busy. So that would be our focus.”

But Homan reminded illegal aliens that coming to the country illegally is a crime:

You can have your due process. Show up in court, not show up in court, get ordered to move. Don’t worry about it unless you commit a serious crime, you’re good to go. If that’s the message we sent to the world, you’re never gonna fix this problem.

Homan will also not tolerate any misbehavior by ICE or anyone in the administration. He doesn’t want excuses. He doesn’t want anyone thinking everything is fine and dandy:

In my meetings with Governor Walz, AG Ellison, and Mayor Frey, as well as state and local law enforcement, again, I appreciate they all acknowledge that we do have federal immigration laws in this country that have been passed by Congress, and that ICE is, in fact, a legitimate law enforcement agency charged with enforcing those laws.

We’re not making this up, folks. ICE is enforcing laws enacted by Congress. They’re a federal statute.

That said I’m not here because of the federal government has carried this mission out perfectly.

First thing I said to senior staff and when I walked in here that’s what I told you. I didn’t come here looking photo ops or headlines. I come here looking for solutions. I do not want to hear that everything’s been done here has been perfect.

Nothing’s ever perfect. Anything to be improved on. And what we’ve been working on is making this operation safer, more efficient by the book. The mission is going to improve because of the changes we’re making internally.

No agency organization is perfect. President Trump and I, along with others in administration, have recognized that certain improvements could and should be made. That’s exactly what I’m doing here.

As such, in meetings I’ve had with federal law enforcement managers, including ICE and CBP and other federal partners, as well as state and local officials, I have conveyed the President’s expectations with regard to federal immigration enforcement efforts, that we will conduct targeted enforcement operations, targeted what we’ve done for decades. We hit the streets. We know exactly who we’re looking for, good idea where we may find them.

You have a criminal history, you have your immigration history, alot of information about this person that we get from numerous databases out there.

Targeted, strategic enforcement operations. That’s traditionally been the case, and that’s where we’re going. That’s what we’re going to continue to do and improve upon that with a prioritization on public safety threats.

Sorry, but Ellison saying “May” means he won’t turn the criminal aliens to ICE…

Taqiyya and all that nonsense.

Then Homan will swat that garbage right across his slimy head , he won’t soon forget!

Why doesn’t Mayor Frey tell the child rapists and murderers to get the f—k out of Minneapolis?

As others have already pointed out, there’s a big difference between ‘may’, and ‘will’.

Homan quoted Ellison, “…that county jails may notify ICE…”

How about ‘shall’ notify. I like that one.

Homan correctly reminded these Minnesota marxist meat puppets that ICE is there to enforce laws passed by Congress.

All Walz, Frey, Ellison, et al had to do in order to ‘dial down the temperature’ was say, “We support LE and their efforts to enforce immigration laws passed by Congress. If you don’t like those laws, then elect people who will change those laws, etc.”

Instead they obfuscated, demonized, blame shifted as riots ensued, and people got killed.

And when back in power nationally, these marxist meat puppets ‘shall’ resume where they left off, hunt down and imprison Trump, and MAGA world. Many have already announced it. You’ve been warned.

We are at war. Prepare accordingly.

mn is going to do exactly what they want to do and will lie if need be

they are the iranians or somalians of the usa

its here its happening its not going away
[
the real question is is how much do is allowed to take over as they have conquered city after city state after state while we are forced to pretend that its not happening otherwise we’d have to take action and that could lead to

ong!!! losing the 2026 which dont matter anyways b/c lefty wins no matter what as we are now a nation of cowards unwilling and/or unable to unseat the power of the 911 mob who now run the financial capital of the world..nyc. and london and brussels

The police will just be ordered never to arrest anyone illegal. They’ll never make it to the jails to be handed over.

“I’m undocumented!” will be the new “I can’t breathe!”

The Trump Admin may just pull off this rope a dope. It puts the onus on Word and Frey to simply hand over illegal aliens they already have in custody….not go looking for them ….just hand over illegal aliens they’ve already arrested and have in jail. There’s not really a reasonable objection to doing it. When the end state of refusing is to turn the criminal illegal aliens onto the street then the logical conclusion is that they don’t want Federal immigration laws to be enforced at all. Eventually the fence sitters will figure out there isn’t a workable middle ground between enforce and don’t enforce,

Yeah that’s my thought. Judo the stupidity of not turning them over to ICE back onto the inept leaders. ‘Oh, Minneapolis let this guy out instead of handing him to ICE and he committed X crime’. Hit them every day at the daily briefing at WH, DoJ, Homeland. Have every media hit by the Admin bring that into the conversation. Play up the ‘safer handover in jail’ angle that Homan pounds on. Every apprehension by ICE of these guys in targeted raids play up the fact that a sanctuary policy let them out to reoffend v handing them to ICE for deportation.

“Homan stressed that criminal illegal aliens are the priority, but illegal aliens with no records are not off the table.”

Exactly as it should be. There is no need to go rooting for illegal aliens who otherwise obey laws when there are so many illegal aliens breaking laws to get rid of first. The others can be encouraged to self-deport by eliminating all benefits and penalizing anyone who hires them.

Well if you mean not rounding up random illegal aliens in street level roving patrols then sure. That doesn’t mean workplace enforcement should be off the table or checkpoints in the 100 mile border area (both static and temporary). The bottom line is every illegal alien is subject to removal and has a choice to accept the generous terms the Trump Admin is offering; A free plane ticket home and $2,600 in their pocket + the ability to get in line and apply for legal entry. If they don’t take advantage and they get scooped up by ICE ….no whining. I don’t care if they’ve been here 40 years, sing in the church choir, volunteer the animal shelter, have minor children, have a medical issue…. the only salient fact is they didn’t have permission to be in the USA so they must depart.

RE: AG Ellison told Homan “that county jails may notify ICE of the release dates of criminal public safety risks so ICE can take custody of them upon the release from the jail.”

This agreement appears illusionary.

Note that Elison says: jails MAY notify ICE.

There is a huge difference between MAY and Shall.

It appears as if the counties have permission to notify ICE.

However, it does not appear to require the notification.

I would say absolutely no deal until May turns into Shall.

Then, take all of those ask that you’re saving by not having to take 50 guys on one raid and go do job site enforcement. Go after the employer and make it very clear that employing illegal aliens will no longer be tolerated. You don’t even have to scoop up the workers at that point, they’ll self Deport once they don’t have a job and they can’t find one.
